I don't really see it as degrading myself. It's honestly nothing personal against Kyoani, I just hate the worst habits in fanboys in general and have always found Kyoani to have some of the worst and most arrogant. My not really liking their shows is a separate issue altogether of course, I just think they make kind of safe inoffensive and mediocre entertainment a lot of the time. As for the hours spent posting, I doubt it's been anything close to that much, but considering how much the general Kyoani fanbase makeup seems to have improved (at least around the English speaking side of the internet, though that could well change at the drop of a hat) in accepting peoples opinions that they aren't perfect and just generally being less obnoxious; and that I've come to find people who agree enough with me to discuss this sort of topic without getting all offended, I have to say it was worth the effort. I won't for a second claim that I think I personally made a difference, but merely that I've learned a lot about myself and others through posting.
Derp, I meant the spacing really high and the count really low. If fewer sparkles come out each time you click/drag, then it's easier to micromanage where they go. Repeatedly trying and failing to get them in the right place with scatter is better than placing them by hand, since when you do it by hand with no scatter their locations always look nonrandom.
And then set size jitter to 100%, minimum diameter to 33%, scatter at ~300%, and turned the spacing really low and the count really high, and then made a few layers and brushed them in (with liberal use of the undo command). Then I picked the best two layers and used those.
