I beat Dragon Age and Awakening. I was expecting worst but it's a nice change from jrpgs.

Finally finished the game. Overall, horrible game with a nice romantic story and a likable cast of characters.

This game deserves it own genre category. "Trial and Error"

That's weird I started from the beginning of the game again and reading a guide on how to A all of the missions and now I get a different pool of soldiers to choose from including Marina.

I think I'm just going to follow a guide and play this game since I don't like the combat system much and I hate not getting a good score.

I'm only on like the 4th mission so Fabio has been fine. The video game so far does a better job at story telling. The anime made it too overdramatic.

Do characters level up when they kill enemies? Or you just get a pool of xp at the end of each battle and then you have to choose what class to level up?

I played the Vassal battle (like 3rd battle) over and over again trying to get a better rank but it's tough. Not sure how important it is to do perfect runs.


edit: Reading a guide on how to A missions and it makes this games battle system seems stupid. It's all about speed and just running up to your enemy and shoot them in the face.

I need some tips on characters to use and what I should be leveling up in Valkyria Chronicles!

About 15 hrs into FF13 and here are some thoughts

Vanille acts like a dumb blonde, annoying. Not to mention bad VA.

Music and visuals both remind me of Avatar.

Gameplay has a Jrpg + Gears of War feel to it. Kill, cutscence, kill, etc.

Linearity - Linear is fine but areas are too narrow and you can't really interact with your surroundings.

Still the game has been pretty fun and entertaining even with the flaws.
