Curiosity got the best of me, so I checked out the (oddly pretty dead) Chihayafuru manga thread.

Heh. Looks like some people misread the current anime situation pretty badly. Even with manga knowledge there's some questions and odd gaps still remaining, but there's no question that for pure raw talent, Arata is at least on par with Shinobu. In fact, he is possibly even more talented than she is, as that would explain his consistent dominance over her in Elementary school match-ups.

I'm looking forward to the first Chihayafuru anime scene that Arata and Shinobu share together. Could be a lot of fun!

By the way, I avoided all spoilers dealing with relationship/romance issues, so please don't discuss those with me in any replies to this VM.

<shrug> its like religion or politics ... counter examples and facts should at least mitigate a viewpoint. Someone who is irrationally attached to a position is usually not worth the energy -- all you can say is something like "Sorry you feel that way, don't let the door smack you on the way out, kay?"

Hmmm..... I suppose it would be OK to post the pics in the anime discussion thread, but just use spoiler tags and make sure to warn folks in advance just in case any of them haven't caught up to the manga beforehand.

But really, considering there's already advertisements for merchandise featuring the post-skip designs to begin with (like Gigant Battle 2, for instance), I wonder if those scans are really such a big spoiler to begin with!

I don't know about the actual spelling, since the Chinese version I read, both Victorique and Vitorica uses same characters and in Japanese they just use Hiragana to spell it. In addtion there is no western spelling I can remember in the LN.

Tokyopop (rest in peace) did release the series but I never read it, so I'll probably go with that. In addition, the language used in the story is French so Victorique is probably the correct spelling for more gender neutral result.

It's actually a lot of stuff. You can choose which topics you want, and you can even create articles if needed. I just need your knowledge on the light novels.

Oh, and can you clarify whether Victorique or Victorica is the official spelling of Victorique's name. They say that the author apologized for the confusion and retconned that somewhere.
