So I decided to power through about 12+ eps of Golden Time and holy moly. Something that is even more facepalm worthy than NagiAsu in the "romance mess" whambulance. I am impressed (not in a good way).

I'm not sure if you noticed, but Aiko appears in the True Tears/Hanasaku Iroha/Tari Tari crossover video that PA Works did.

Tomoe, unless I missed something, does not. PA Works you f***ers.

In all seriousness, Tomoe is outside the marketable age which is why they didn't include her. The crossover vid is 110% PA Works fanservice/pandering so I wouldn't take it seriously. I feel really guilty liking it since it was by any other studio I would be dismissing it as "otaku trash" .

    Nevermind found it:

By the way, I think PA Works anime originals (the ones that matter, so that doesn't include you Angel Beats and Canaan) can be arguably classified as "pretentious moe" works . I couldn't find a word starting with "A" that is similar to moe .

Cause I love the feelings their series give me (except the times they go full ham and retard).

I have very high expectations for Glasslip as I believe it will be in the same reign and style as Hanasaku Iroha and Tari Tari rather than the melodrama bombshell that is Nagi no Asu Kara. Which means, I am very excited for it as unfortunately my interest in NagiKara has been waning again (like it did in the 1st half of the 1st cour) .

Also, I'm expecting a Hansaku Iroha cameo or reference where the main character will be holding a piece of glass and be like "I wanna make this glass sparkle"!

So looks like Okada is doing two anime originals next season much like Spring 2011. One for JC Staff, one for Satelight. I am pleased because this means less chance of her working on the PA Works one!

P.S. I by no means dislike Okada. I just don't want another full-on melodrama PA Works anime after Nagikara because it gets exhausting after a while.

Fuck yea. PA Works + Anime Original + Coming of Age Drama. Tried and tested and successful. Though I'm really hoping it's not Mari Okada on it this time.

Well I don't know how this came to about but WuG is officially my favourite of the season including last Fall's carryovers. Space Dandy is quite a lot of fun but I don't think it's groundbreaking or anything and Nagi no Asu Kara is waning in quality again (due to dumb shipping wars and trolling) . Stalled Golden Time, dropped Kill la Kill and SamFlam, and I'm not watching any series apart from this.

I actually finished Cross game the other week (had like 20 eps left) and that show went instantly in my top 10. Then I rewatched the whole thing because I forgot what happened in the first 2/3 since it's been like 3+ years and now it's just barely not in my top 5 of all time. It's...that...fucking...good. OMG.

On the positive side, Mayu has provided my dose of "quality" moe that I needed for a very long time (since Tari Tari ).

Honestly, no, I wasn't surprised by your choice of favorite character. Satsuki was actually the first character to come to mind for me when I read your latest VM to me. I figured it was probably her or Mako, and in Mako's case, I considered her largely because she seems to be the most popular character in the show in general.

Satsuki isn't that visually different from a lot of other popular, well-beloved anime characters - I've seen some fan-art that mixes and matches her with Akemi Homura, for example. She has that tall, full-bodied, long dark-haired look that's popular in anime. Like Hitagi and like Rin.

I've noticed over the years that a fair number of your favorite female anime characters have long, straight hair going for them - Like Sola's Matsuri and Spice and Wolf's Holo. So I think that this is probably a character design element that visually appeals to you.

And putting visual appeal aside, I myself consider Satsuki the most interesting character in the show. I think she's very well-developed, and has some intriguing ambiguity to her, but also while being very well-defined in some areas.

Noticed your recent postings on Pocari Sweat's wall. You probably should know that Love Live!'s first episode is its weakest, by a significant margin, imo. So you're in for a treat if you go back to it, and watch it all.
