Just dropping by to share some though on Sakurasou,I might be even more optimistic about it than you, that's because when I was doing research on it before it started the manga version didn't do much for me but I spoiled myself with what happens later in the story and really liked what I heard so going in I figured I'd have to hang on towards the beginning to get to the good parts later, but the couple first episodes have exceeded my expectations so if I'm enjoying it this much now I figure I'll highly enjoy the parts I was looking forward to.

The name thing is quite a shame too,i find it funny that a shoujo anime can be called "my little monster" and more importantly have the male lead on a leach in the promo art without raising an uproar, think about what would happen if you reversed genders on that promo art...

Yes, and the return escalation BS I see from some posters just paints them as infantile, brutish or maybe just clueless about real relationships. I don't care how mad I get at the people in my life I care about (male or female) -- *hitting* them just isn't part of the game nor should it be.

Well, to be fair, your "slight hit to the ribs" idea seems reasonable to me (both for real life and for anime).

More than anything, I just think this style of comedy is kind of... played out, maybe? And while I honestly accept the gender double standard to some degree (let's face it, guys tend to be physically stronger than girls, biologically speaking), I also think it can be taken too far. My mind goes back to Ore no Imouto's Kirino here. If Kyousuke had, say, literally pushed her away from him after her 4th or 5th time of hitting him, I couldn't and wouldn't fault him for that. But I think a guy should only punch a female, actually punch her, if she really is a serious threat to him (and here I'm kind of talking about an actual female villain that's great at fighting and/or powerful).

And yeah, a guy who took a 'roll with the punches' approach to the tsundere abuse might come across well.

It certainly is on the sweet side, but it's buried underneath a rather brutal script, I'd say.

Also, Mashiro is indeed far beyond Komari. Though for me personally, that doesn't say too much. I don't like Komari at all atm.

Komari. Ugh. Key moeblobs are even worse than k-on moeblobs for me .

That's not even my problem. It was the best part of the episode.

But I do feel like the whole thing was overly fetishized, though Mashiro's not even the problem. That other chick is simply not a character type I like at all.

I mean sure, I get the point that Mashiro is supposed to be different but it could be done in a more classy fashion. I found someone like Kotomi moe and all.

I'm watching the second episode as we speak (Damn you Archon_Wing, making me watch every bad Okada perv show when I'm at my limit with her ). Another thing that's bothering me is the Inori/Tenshi voice. Bah. Emotionless moe does not work on me . I will give it the usual 3 ep test, but don't count me on it!

I do find two things ironic though. One both the director and script writer for this are female... yet this anime can be argued to be quite sexist and anti-feminist. Two, it's looks superior to Little Busters in the visual department .
