Oh, it's nothing complex; I just see a lot of people who give up and drop out halfway through their ambitions.

Yeah, I should have been more extensive in my description of the topic. I'm not looking for people who can latch onto what I'm doing in class (which I haven't even really described overall), but instead to see what people think of their likes and dislikes, and to say why they think it works/doesn't work for them. If you've come up with an explanation that wasn't brought up in our class, then power to you- that's also critical thinking.

The basic idea is, we go through the content, look at it and then go to the next thing. We're shoving an entire curriculum into a span of just under 2 months, so it's honestly rushed. Needless to say, many of us will have had more experience in certain aspects compared to others, and will have differing opinions. Clashing opinions is a good thing if taken well, and hey, it's all part of the learning process.

It's kind of funny because the topic was thrown into a "gender analysis" thread, which wasn't my original intention. It was probably my post, but that's all we'd really looked at to that point since it was the beginning. Needless to say we're already branching out to looking at historical analysis and other forms of media, but it can never really be a true summarization since it's all jammed into 2 months.

Thanks for the comment though, good to hear another perspective. I might make a post on the thread to try and spin the conversation into a more community-friendly tangent.

Good eye. I noticed that bit of rump-service myself.

KyoAni does do one kind of ecchi fanservice very well - Ass shots. One of the Haruhi 2009 E8 episodes had this incredible Haruhi ass-shot, lol.

Personally, I like KyoAni's more naturalistic and distinct style. You don't need to flash a female character's undies or naked breasts in order to give her sex appeal. Careful framing of certain (but normal) body movements can be arousing as well, and also in a more classy way.

Oi Oi Oi! Stop spurting legal jargon to this commoner community. They won't understand. If you don't stop, I may have to serve you with a writ of summons enclosing a court order that seeks an injunction against 0utf0xzer0 in using difficult latin and legal jargon to the commoner folks .

Check my about page and occupation . Solicitor in 6 months time hopefully...

    Other than its scary adorable?

The only caveat I've got is that things at HLJ vanish fast. They've been ultra reliable and I've used both EMS and SAL. SAL to Portland is pretty fast... YMMV in Canada.

Pretty much the same reasons I watch Fujiko Mine. Sayo Yamamoto directs titles about feministas/femme fatales - her other directing was Mitchiko Hatchin. Koike's artwork is as sweet as it was in Redline and other works. Okada is probably having fun. Watanabe's influence on the music director is evident. A mix of the new and old for good times.

I'm way behind due to having seen next to no anime in the last month. On the upside, I submitted quiz night material this week for the convention in July. Submitting panel soon as well. Hopefully IRL will give me some time soon. But I get the feeling the sudden craving to go and get Catherine might get in the way somewhat, heh.

Sucks to hear that about your GF. Hope you guys get to hook up more soon. Hope the job and exams go well.

So what's burning bright for the moe scholar lately?

And what's been mutual watching with the girlfriend?

Sorry about the late reply on JC Staff.

Actually, I don't doubt that JC Staff can do good visual work. Shana III usually looked pretty good to me. But still, it's encouraging to know that JC Staff is really refining its style a bit.

My concern with JC Staff (when it comes to LB!) has more to do with source material faithfulness. But who knows? Maybe they'll do Ok here as well. Shana III was pretty faithful to the LN from what I read.

That's really encouraging although I always thought JC staff did pretty decent backgrounds. This explains it! Yeah it's the character animation which will be the biggest focus imo in regards to their visuals on LB!, but hey they are probably forking a budget for this all but guaranteed success.

A bit of a delayed reply but that's because I've been pondering what you said and indeed I was jumping the gun here by making such an association, you pointed out how some sempais have a more girlish side to them,a current exemple would be Yuuko in dusk maiden of amnesia who was alder than the rest of the cast when she died. Was also reading a new shonen jump manga that also has a sempai that has an refined image but that turns out to be decieving.
Meanwhile in Natsuroi Kiseki Saki is clearly the most refined of the girls, they even say she acts older than she is but she's not a sempai since they're in the same year.
Okada is going for some very basics archetypes in AKB0048 and one of them is the elegant refined girl, but she doesn't seem any older than the others.
So yeah,I'd guess I'd have to find somrthing other than sempai moe,too bad,I thought "sempai moe" had a nice ring to it

On a completely unrelated note I just had a random Hanazawa Kana fanboy moment when looking at the ISML standings, through 4 rounds there were 25 undefeated characters,6 of them are voiced by HanaKana (BRS,tenshi, kuroneko, charlotte, kobato, nadeko) . She's even doing 5 out of 12 in the Nova Division
2nd best seems to be Kugimiya Rie with Shana,Aria,Taiga.

Now that I've said this i've probably jinxed it and the HanaKana characters will lose their next match
