Certainly the choice of director seems lackluster, but we should also consider that he's hardly done anything as a director. Meaning he's just a big question mark. It is true that having Nagai on board would seem more reassuring, but I think the overriding factor here is going to be the scripting more so than the directing.

I actually played the Little Busters VN and I can say it is a bit different in some ways. It's more like Angel Beats than it is like the Air/Kanon/Clannad trifecta. More zany antics and more of a focus on friends than those ones (The anime version clumsily stuck together many of the cast in clannad as a group of friends but it wasn't like that in the VN and that was mainly about family). Now it's not gonna be that refreshing but distinctive enough to get some enjoyment out of it. When it's all said and done it'll be what Angel Beats wasn't I would say (So long as JC staff delivers).

I would have to agree with you about the final arcs being kinda underwhelming in kanon and clannad. It's what prevents me from giving them good scores IMO, and actually if clannad ended after Ushio in the flower scenes (Or his father scnee) I would've rated it much better...

Inu x Boku SS is an interesting case for me... Recall that I am actually a lover of good shoujo/josei manga so I am not opposed to these genres (There are few genres I will not touch like yaoi, but evne then I bothered to watch No.6). I felt Inu Boku SS was really saved by its ending for me and if those developments came out earlier it would've even possibly been a very good show. I gave it a 6/10 but I enjoyed it almost like a 7 or 8/10. I liked its characters (I even kinda warmed up to Souchi after the last two episodes), I loved its aesthetics, and it had a certain charming sense of humor. It was a pleasant show and even though I didn't rate it the best because I felt it meandered a little too much in the middle, I wouldn't mind a second season honestly. I'll be putting up a review sometime in the near future if you're interested. I still am not absolutely sure if I'll give it a 6 or 7, but we'll see.

I felt a cross between "Haruhi Lite" and a poor man's version of "Bunkagu Shojo". Was quite pretty looking (though in no way revolutionary or "Kyoani exclusive" like those Kyoani fanboys will tell you), but ultimately the mysteries were really retarded - Scooby Doo level lol. The fact that I watched Another last season doesn't help xD.

In regards to Tari Tari, I'm expecting something like Hanasaku Iroha minus Okada perv/sheneningans since she's too busy orgasming over Aquarion EVOL, Lupin III ero and soon to be AKB48 XD. AND SOMEONE HAS A MIKO FETISH! :3

So after watching Hyouka ep1... I'm so impatient for Tari Tari. Cause I know that will come along, have just as impressive visuals but actually show how to do a moe slice of life series right.

I know such things have to be cut-throat competition... yet they still make me more sad than excited especially when they're so young. It is interesting watching how it all works though.

I can get why you'd get some vibes,2 sphere girls were in HSI's cast and sphere sang the 1st ED.
However Natsuiro Kiseki is no HSI ,at least not completely,it's more like HSI's lighthearted episode with a fantasy aspect added,in fact its lead writer worked on some of those under Okada and he also handled the adaptations of shows like Saki and A channel.

You know after you mentioned how Hanasu Iroha had a love interest for its female characters I hhave to say another exemple didn't come to mind.
Though Natsuiro Kiseki looks like it's gonna have a love interest for one of its girl

So faith in the staff is a really big deal for you?

How would I class what's important for me...

Character motivations being apparent by the end of Episode 1 (at least to some degree)
    A non-cliched plot/premise
Content not so generic and sugar-coated
A character worth believing in/caring about
    Good ambience and music

    That's probably my priorities/needs.

Any clue as to why Haiyore! Nyaruko-san has the most pre-orders in Japan for a currently airing show...I had a feeling it was going to but still...

Oh that Zakuro DVD set indeed looks great.
I remember a crunchyroll staff member saying that it got a surprising amount of views, wonder if that contributed in a DVD coming out.

I hear Amnesia fans are the rabid fanboys of the season, heh.

By the way, have you ever watched Aria? I already liked it but now that I'm watching it after I come home from work, it feels that much better. Neo Venezia is so delish...I reckon getting females like Alicia, Akira and Alice to guide people around a revamped Venice would solve Italy's financial crisis. XD

Did you happen to have a MAL list at all?
