That's really encouraging although I always thought JC staff did pretty decent backgrounds. This explains it! Yeah it's the character animation which will be the biggest focus imo in regards to their visuals on LB!, but hey they are probably forking a budget for this all but guaranteed success.

A bit of a delayed reply but that's because I've been pondering what you said and indeed I was jumping the gun here by making such an association, you pointed out how some sempais have a more girlish side to them,a current exemple would be Yuuko in dusk maiden of amnesia who was alder than the rest of the cast when she died. Was also reading a new shonen jump manga that also has a sempai that has an refined image but that turns out to be decieving.
Meanwhile in Natsuroi Kiseki Saki is clearly the most refined of the girls, they even say she acts older than she is but she's not a sempai since they're in the same year.
Okada is going for some very basics archetypes in AKB0048 and one of them is the elegant refined girl, but she doesn't seem any older than the others.
So yeah,I'd guess I'd have to find somrthing other than sempai moe,too bad,I thought "sempai moe" had a nice ring to it

On a completely unrelated note I just had a random Hanazawa Kana fanboy moment when looking at the ISML standings, through 4 rounds there were 25 undefeated characters,6 of them are voiced by HanaKana (BRS,tenshi, kuroneko, charlotte, kobato, nadeko) . She's even doing 5 out of 12 in the Nova Division
2nd best seems to be Kugimiya Rie with Shana,Aria,Taiga.

Now that I've said this i've probably jinxed it and the HanaKana characters will lose their next match

I probably came off a bit too strongly in PMs/replies to you recently. It's probably a good sign that anime can still get me worked up like that, but I probably should have kept my cool a bit more.

Good points on Kuroneko and the Monogatari series. I also think she'd fine Bake nicely dark, different, and sophisticated. But I think she'd fine Nise overly generic and, as you say, mundane, in how it approaches the harem anime setup. It would probably be too lighthearted for Kuroneko.

As for the KyoAni brand and its "Values"... I'm going to send you a PM on that. You should have it shortly.

Bascially I think Kirino would write the overly smutty things, but Kuroneko is the kinkier one. I mean just look at how she dresses. :3

X_X I saw this comment of yours on Triple's wall:

BTW, while I was driving an anime buddy home last night we got into one of those discussions and came to the conclusion that Kuroneko is probably a fan of Bakemonogatari but not Nise. I found the whole thing somewhat amusing.
That's certainly possible. I made a similar comment once on Kuroneko but with Yosuga no Sora; it feels like she wrote one half and the other half was written by Kirino who would demand all that steamy imouto sex and shit.

I strongly agree with you on both of the ideas you raised in the DVD/Blu-Rays sales discussion thread.

I might reply in more detail on the thread itself, although I ran up against more opposition than I thought I would, so I've been wondering if it's worth the hassle, lol.

And I have to admit that your Kuroneko/Monogatari series comment brought a grin to my face and a chuckle. It also makes me curious as to why you think Kuroneko would like Bake more than Nise?

... And no offense, but I honestly suspect this is going to be like Hyou-ka where you'll start to get more into it once a couple episodes have aired.
You know... you must be a fortune teller or something because this is what I typed after Hyouka's 3rd episode.

Well the thing is I've always thought you were better at explaining moe than I was,so not sure I can be of much help.
To me mami falls under the "sempai moe",she's a year older than the girl and their mentor, she also has this elegance (notably with teacups) that to me is a huge factor in her appeal. There's probably better exemples out there but the one that comes to mind is Touko Amano

    A couple things:

Due to comp issues and RL issues, I'm well behind on some anime shows now, but I will try to catch up soon, so I can chat with you more about them.

Also, thanks a lot for your input on Last Sinner's recent thread. I appreciate that a lot.
