    It certainly was a great series and over time I began to like it more, but I'm not too sold on it knocking off some of my "nostalgic" favourites. Even then, there has been "better" series in recent years like Shin Sekai Yori, Steins Gate, Mawaru Penguindrum or Madoka Magica (the movies don't count, they are significantly inferior to the TV series) or series that just completely clicked with me like Bunny Drop or White Album 2. Nor do I "fag" over Hyouka as I so do with the likes of say something like Tari Tari, and that series isn't part of my personal best either.

    I do think it's possibly Kyoani's best series, but in a way it's not much of a competition when one is not a big fan of Key and although Haruhi and FMP were great, don't think they are as good as some people claim it to be, particularly the former.

    There seems to be a little bit of turnover in the bottom part of my favourites list (the high 8 to low 9/10 range), but my upper half has on the whole remained unchanged with the exception of Cross Game, which might be the best sports/coming of age series I've seen. I only finished in the past year as well. Brought me to tears by the end of it, and not in some sappy melodramatic someone dies kinda way, but because it was bittersweet as hell.

    Oh wow, you're alive! :P

    I didn't realise you liked Hyouka that much.

    I pretty much ragequit Glasslip. Made a rant post on it.

    Now excuse me while I curl up in a ball in the corner whilst you laugh at me...

    Some of the cosplay winners from AVCon 2014. So glad Riven and Yasuo won 1st place in their category.

    Zero good moe shows again this season. FFS...

    Closest thing is Barakamon but that's not really what I'm looking for...

    Guess I have to wait till Fall and hope Amagi Brilliant Park is good...

    So since Glasslip's first episode sucked, I am currently suffering from Quality Moe Withdrawal syndrome and it's driving me insane.

    FFS PA, this is one of the worst premiers you've ever made...

    T minus hurry the f*** up till Glasslip airs.

    On a humorous note this is what I replied when someone asked me my anticipation/expectation for the series and whether I would be dissappointed:

    Projected Impression:

    Base Value = 5
    PA Works = +1
    Not a Light novel adaptation = +1
    Anime Original = +1
    Director for True Tears = +1
    Mari Okada is not involved = +2
    Mixed Gender cast = +1
    Good background art, character designs etc. = +1
    Choucho = +1
    Nano.ripe = -2
    Very little glassmaking in the PVs = -2
    Yuri pandering promo pics = -1
    Possible romance wangst/melodrama = -1

    Projected score = 8/10.
    Disappointment prediction = Low

    I've been enjoying Brynhildr all the way through - It's not one of my top tier shows of the Spring 2014 season, but it's been a solid keeper - But I do see what you're saying. Thinking back on it, I did take the show pretty seriously in its first half, but have found it harder to do so over the last few episodes.

    The show has built up a pretty good narm charm identity, in my view, but it probably could have been more tense and gripping if it had wanted to be. It's kind of like a Hollywood movie that could have been A-list but sort of settles for being an above average B-list popcorn flick.

    @Fluff: I definitely don't like most light novel tropes but inconsequential SoL is a bit of a tough for me since Minami-Ke or Azumanga Daoih had spades of it and I really liked both. Why I do dislike though, if there's obnoxious girls (usually loli, tsundere, imouto or a combination of the above) begging for camera attention. And airheaded moeblobs or Rei/Yuki/Mashiro/Inori type mutes.

    @Glasslip: I meant more so in character designs and looks wise. Personality wise she seems somewhere in between Ohana and Wakana.

    I'm a bit concerned it might go the waaaaah teen romance drama route (partially due to the 2nd half of the 2nd PV with the nano.ripe song which was god awful btw) and if so I'm going to be mad. Really mad. Some romance on the side is fine, but anything that goes Nagi no Asu Kara, Kokoro Connect or Ano Hana levels and I'm gonna start flipping tables. Cause I really doubt if it was a romance centric series, the quality would be of True Tears, ef or White Album 2 level. I trust PA Works enough and that without the involvement of Okada, that the amount of "stupid shit" (ala Hanasaku Iroha episode 3) will be minimised so I don't have to worry about it being a Sakurasou or Toradora (which had a lot of "stupid shit" amongst the good moments) either.

    Give me Tari Tari/Hanasaku Iroha with a glassmaking theme and I'll be a very happy camper. Been too bloody long since I got a good dose of quality moe with substance to back it up. Or whatever the genre is called that these shows fall into. Moe slice of life/coming of age/drama/wistful/mono-no-aware thingymabob.

    Holy moly. Love Live just broke even Monogatari and Madoka's record of highest 1st week bluray sales.
