I thought I might as well tell my fax machine why it was wrong, would be more constructive.

I made the mistake of starting the Ookami Kodomo manga and I'm having a very hard time stopping myself...

Yeah, you could hardly find a better rebuttal to that argument than Colorful. I'm surprised to see he considers Yamauchi a mentor - superficially they seem so different. But I guess management style would transcend that.

Well, that's interesting - though I must say I disagree with Hosoda on general terms here. I believe that's a particularly Japanese POV he's espousing here, in some ways.

    Was he speaking French?

Thanks for the cookie. And I really thought it was you who gave that.

Oh, and in case you're interested to see some cosplay pics. I took some at a recent anime convention that I attended.

I was Kou for a LONG time. It was a shock for me, too - but damn, I love the way they ended that episode with Hisoka...

I have no doubt Hosoda can do great characters of both genders. I'd just like the believe he doesn't actually think along the lines you mentioned in that quote!

Yes! And it is indeed very popular!!! 1st volume's almost at 1 million sales at oricon (I am not sure if any other light novel has that kind of number). It's so popular that it's mainstream!! I think it might get a live action adaptation instead of anime, which is a shame and a blessing I guess.

As for translation, I heard somewhere that someone wants to translate it to English from Chinese; I forgot where I read that though. There are two mangas right now for it at the moment, but I don't think any English scan groups are doing 'em last time I check.

I personally recommend if possible to wait for a translation of the novel, because obviously these kind of books are more character driven (this is not a clue base "whodunit" type of mystery novel). I really had a lot of fun reading this because it's very easy to picture yourself RIGHT there with the everyday setting (I haven't live in Japan but I can picture it well just from reading) and you really learn a lot about the old books market. Mikami seriously did his research well in the sense that you can tell he loves books a lot himself (hence the bibliophile), and I can't help but thinking he's just writing his own experience in books so it's not really research.

Man, I can go on and on talking about this but I really don't wanna give any of it away (3rd volume is pretty awesomeeeee), but the one thing I can say is that Shioriko is sooooooooooo cute.

The picture in my profile's a limited card that you can get only if you're lucky for a book promotion thing, and there are only 300 of 'em. Since I obviously has no way to get it, I settle for the next best thing, which would be the biggest size I can find of the picture Took me a while to find it but it is currently my desktop picture, she's so elegant! Too bad there are so few pictures of her. Koshijima (illustrator) isn't exactly new, but also is not very prolific in her(?) work; there isn't even a wiki page for this person.

Anyway, I've rambled on too much! You can tell I'm really excited just to see people interested in this outside of Japan lol.

EDIT: I think I confused profile pic with avatar pic, anyway yeahhhh @__@

Ah yes, Smith - he is a huge kid. Kiyamura from japan was the better player, though!
