Busy. Very very busy for the past few months.
Thank god, it slowed down that I can actually peek at the forum now and then. Oh and watch something for this season. Though, at first glance Fall 2015 line-up is quite uninspiring. But, then again, I haven't watched any of them. Nor, I don't think I can do my usual 3 episode taste test.

Are there any sleeper hits around this season? Anything you're watching?

P S. Thank you for inviting me, btw. ^^

Is the symbolism part because I have four Shaft shows in that top ten? I definitely get the artistic flair comment, but I've never actually thought of myself as someone with a strong preference for visual symbolism as I don't tend to think of myself as the kind of person who analyzes the symbolic meaning of scenes much.

    As for Madoka's ending...

    Spoiler for Madoka:

At this point Madoka would very likely make a top ten list for me. Can't quite edge onto that top five list though - EF, Hyouka and Bakemonogatari are very special shows for me and Shinsekai Yori hold together a tad better plot wise (Madoka's ending felt a tad too deus ex machina for me, which ironically means that it more or less has the same flaw as Yuuki Yuuna, just on a smaller scale). Moon Phase admittedly suffers from a weak final arc and anti-climactic showdown once it starts to deviate from the manga, but Moon Phase is a really fun show and the flaws don't start to show up until well into the second cour. The first cour is really good and ends with a fantastic showdown.

To turn it into a top ten I'd probably add Kurenai, Iriya no Sora, Madoka, Utawarerumono S1 and Hanasaku Iroha. The new Utawarerumono has been reminding me how much I love the original, particularly in terms of the aesthetics, the characters and their interactions (the story is decent but not great, I'm not fond of the final arc).

Good action and strong characterization are far from exclusive. I consider all the action shows in my top five to I cited to have strong characterization and drama. Though I'll admit they're not necessarily the deepest series story wise (though they're not the most shallow either).

Interesting that you mentioned HiME as having flashy action -I consider it probably the least action oriented series on my favorites list aside from Tari Tari. Though I'll admit when it does action scenes they do tend to be somewhat showy, especially when Kagutsuchi gets involved.

You snuck in while I was writing my reply! I've added an "@Arya" to the top of my post to make things clear.

Just sending this over for comedy reasons. Someone tried to do a phone scam. Sadly for them, I answered.

    thank you,

btw I'm reading the discussion thread on infected wixoss from the beginning and I have to say, you were right about how's the game work in the debate on page around 12 to 14, your LIRG having more "HP" than the other doesn't mean that you winng, cause when you lose HP it becone resource that could be used to fuel far more devastating attacks on opponent LIRG, and with enough resources and right deck build you can straight up deny opponent of resources that they would normally get, and generate even more resources for yourself. and good player will sometime bait enemy into attack to give them resources. and be able to keep your low level card in play could be critical in some deck.
