I was about to just send you a VM about my thoughts on Sunshine's 6th episode but it got long and detailed enough to be an actual post so I just posted it in the thread.

Anyway, I don't have high hopes for this show anymore because it seems determined to never let Aqours escape from 's shadow. Yoshiko's episode was a true gem, but it's likely going to be the exception in the long run.

    Good evening.

BIG NEWS.. something happened today in our cosplay community.. a serious thing actually. I'll try to finish the Otaku Expo writeup soon. Issue is related to Ram and Rem.

Good evening. Seems you are liking the New LL Sunshine anime.
I'm liking it too. Do you have favorite characters? Mine are Chika and Yohane - they're rather interesting characters for me.

Hmm, and just got home from Otaku Expo mid year event. Saw many LL Sunshine cosplayers. Though unfortunately, not able to take a pic of a single one of them. i'll try again next time. >< Well, I think this is a sign that Love Live Sunshine is starting to creep into our cosplay community - which is a good thing. Oh, and one thing happened today that has not happen before. Today, I met a Kongou cosplayer who is blind in one eye (real blindness). I'm sort of impressed, because she does not let a disability stop her from enjoying cosplay.

Mari is indeed turning out to be different than I expected, very much like Nozomi, but with a different feel to her at the same time. Of course, the fact she's actively helping the club instead of working in the shadows is already very different, but her personality has something different as well.

I'd love to have more Saki in the future, but with the current pace of the main series that seems unlikely, and as much as I like Shinohayu, it doesn't have a particularly good point for a potential anime to stop at without feeling lackluster. At this rate we have better chances of seeing Toki's spinoff animated.

My pleasure, and thank you for reading so attentively and being a good discussion partner in general. It makes me think more about what to say to express myself correctly.

Another thing I like about sunshine is how much it has surprised me in the character department, which I couldn't get from the original because I knew the basics of all girls going in. From Riko's perfectly balanced personality to Maru stealing the show one funny bit at a time, its been a very enjoyable experience.

Not really, but I'm finding sunshine to be doing some things right that I found kinda iffy in the original, but that is mostly personal taste stuff.

I'm saying sunshine isn't crap compared to the original, not that the original is crap. If it sounds like I'm implying something else, I apologize, but with all the comparisons, using the original to analyze Sunshine's better parts is the easiest option. Honestly, the original LL is still one of my favorite idol anime (and Honoka one of the best mains), mostly because of its characters and the genuinely good humour it could pull off.

Oh, I forgot to mention this in the thread, but I did find Chika's motivation for saving the school kinda weak compared to Honoka's. As in, she just realized all of a sudden, whereas it took Honoka some thinking to realize it wasn't something she would just allow to happen. The final part in the beach was good, though, because it showed once agan its not just the school, but the whole town that supports her and the rest of Aqours.
