The way in which Slaine ended up back on a Martian ship without any explanation infuriated me to no end. It was just one gigantic plot hole full of unanswered questions (why didn't Inaho capture him? Why isn't Inko or his sister asking about what happened to him? How did the Martians get to Slaine when Inaho's side was right there). I spent the entire episode hoping one of the characters would actually ask but it never happened. It's like the writers knew it was total bs but pointedly refused to even acknowledge its existence because they knew they couldn't but still wanted to make sure Slaine and Inaho remained enemies. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad on its own but I guess it must have been the straw that broke the camel's back for me. After giving it the benefit of the doubt on so many issues, I'm just finally fed up with how the plot relies on multitudes of contrivances in order to go the way it wants. I had major issues with the action in the previous episode because of this, but this episode really was final straw.

It's been a while, Triple_R. Someone brought me back to AnimeSuki and while I don't intend to visit regularly, I did want to leave you a message. Your recommended The Pilot's Love Song to me a few months ago. Based on the series synopsis and genre classifications at MyAnimeList, I decided to watch it with my wife. We finished it recently.

The series certainly wasn't what I expected, but we enjoyed it. I went in expecting a series that focused more on romance and was presented in a slice-of-life fashion, but felt that it was more of a war drama. In that regard it was pretty impressive. Many anime series (and works of fiction in general) glorify conflict, but this series seemed to reflect the realities of it a bit more. There was little elation about shooting down an enemy plane, or winning a battle; instead, there was an emphasis on those who died and were injured. The series wasn't out to kill off everyone, but it also made it clear that nobody was safe from death or injury (even in large numbers); as a result, I felt trepidation over the safety of the main group of characters that had to sortie for a conflict. That's probably a more true-to-life emotion to feel over such an event. Despite watching plenty of fictional works involving warfare, I can't think of any other series or movie that caused me to feel such a thing (or at least, to feel it so strongly and with such regularity over each conflict).

Definitely a good series, thanks for the recommendation.

I probably won't log in to check visitor messages for another few months (or longer), but as usual, PMs give me an email alert and bring me back. I think I gave you my email address, too, so feel free to drop me a message whenever you like. I hope all is going well with you these days!

Not that I wasn't entertained but the topic isn't up to my interest. Due to the facts all characters so far doesn't give me the feel that Saki does, I really don't cared what happened to what characters.

Sorry for the really late reply on your last VM on my wall. Honestly, I don't know why March 8 seemed to be important. I would have said White Day, but that was on March 14.

I took a really long hiatus on forums and even anime for the past few months... I had a really bad case of the "hardware upgrade itch" and ended up slowly building a new rig for myself (and eventually my mother and sister)...

Also, I just watched Madoka 3 last week. I felt Sayaka had finally gotten some justice that she never received in the TV series and movies 1&2.

Movie 3 had so many treats in store for me as a huge fan of the SayaKyou pairing that one scene actually made me cry a little.

Thought you might get a kick out of this cinematic. A lot of people now consider Ahri (the fox woman) and Leona (the armor-clad woman) to be canon after this.

Is it just me, or does Madoka have an awfully smug look on her face? I don't think she'd ever smirk like that...would she?

Or maybe it's 'cause she's got Kyubey on her shoulder.

And wait, what's this I hear about SAO II? Did Asuna get replaced? Man I guess that relationship the first season built up really meant nothing huh?

It was almost inevitably going to improve on the unfortunate incident that was Alfheim Online.

Fall - yeah, FSN will be the dominant series. But I don't think even it will be able to challenge the sales Love Live S2 racked up. As long as it's loyal to Nasu, I'll be more than content.
