Reading this chapter got me thinking on an old topic...what exactly is yoki? Is it like the force, or chi, or ki, or is it something more than that? The experiments with Luciella and Raphaela were about one sister holding the other sisters "consciousness" so one could awaken while the other controlled the yoki. Alicia and Beth are a more advanced version of that. Numerous references are made to the need for one sister to return the consciousness and control the yoki so the other can come back from awakening.
In a lesser version of this, we have half awakenings and the events between Jean and Clare. Two separate cases where both have gone well over their limit and come back with the assistance of yoki manipulation. There's a synchronicity required to do this, as explained in the story.
So my thoughts led me to this crazy theory - What if the mistake Clare was warned about was in her belief that Teresa is dead? True, her body is gone (for the most part) but the dream Clare had waaaay back when she first met the Miria and the others really felt like foreshadowing. Now there's a constant recurrence of this idea of "soul link" where something is shared between two individuals to return what was lost.
I'm not exactly pining for a return of Teresa, but I do find myself wondering the importance of her flesh in Clare, the dream, and yet Clare doesn't really utilize any of Teresa's power (the yoki sensing might be part of it but this wasn't Teresa's only strength). I wonder of the importance of similarities between Jean, Clare, Raphaela and Luciella, and Alicia and Beth.
To be more blunt - Priscilla demonstrated this chapter that her power is completely off the charts. She may or may not be stronger than Raciella, but she's well above any other power in the story as seen so far. Even if Clare combined forces with every other power in the story Priscilla would not lose.
To come this far in the story with Clare being so weak compared to Priscilla really makes me wonder how Yagi will resolve Clare's revenge against Priscilla. It's just impossible, even after her "upgrades" and her strength increase after the time skip.
I wonder if there's a link between Teresa's flesh and the plot constantly revolving around the "soul link" premise.
Not sure if anyone will understand what I'm getting at with this thinking, so maybe it's just me pointlessly wondering about something way off target.
