I've seen everything except for First Kiss, but I believe there was something Kiss, so First Kiss may also be there. Too bad stealing Sex Appeal doesn't actually change a thief's looks... wait, that might explain their character makeover in Disgaea 2 and 3. After stealing sex appeal, they changed from this to this.

*Sigh* I miss my Disgaea 2 thieves. They were actually very useful in combat and they had a cute giggle and battle cries. >.< Though the comics did make the Disgaea 1 thief look a bit better... I still say hearing "SHAZZAM!" and "WHO THE MAN!" is annoying considering the thief's horrible stats... though I probably won't even be attacking with them after a while.

I mean, best items = items in the best shops

The real "best items" can only be found by killing incredible monster/enemies or by resolving the hardest quests. The thieves can be useful though. Because they can put traps on the ground. I used a thief to kill a dragon in baldur 2

Well... I don't think Mao or Tianzi have really been shown in areas where there are lots of sunlight often. I'm sure that if the writers didn't have time to go in-depth about character's motivations, they couldn't go in-depth about sun-problems either.

Well, that's what all three Disgaeas are like and I believe Makai Kingdom's like that too... although you use some kinda UFO thingy to steal in Makai Kingdom. It's pretty fun going around stealing the enemy's "Sex Appeal", "First Kiss", "Sex Drive", and "Soul" among other things I can't remember.

Well... bribing gets more advanced in Disgaea 2 and I believe that in Disgaea 3, Dark Assembly is a classroom. I don't think it's so much the bribing part that's immoral but the passing by force part. >.<

Not really. First because to steal the best items you need a thief with high stats, then to use spells on him, and if you fail, you lose reputation point and all the soldiers of the cities start to chase you. And also because I don't like to steal even in game XD. But in those games, trying to steal is funny, really.
