Did you know about this? I was thinking it's something you might want to get in on.

No, I agree. It is perhaps on of the most difficult, or has the steepest "learning curve" series made (that I have come across at least), but most of the raw components of the series itself are good - visuals, audio, OP, etc.

The story is very carefully, deliberately crafted from beginning to end and rather subtle, even. "Objectively" the components are even quite good much of the time. However ... the general execution and whether it works as a whole is another story.

But ... uhh ... yeah ... it is nothing like some of the garbage that is out there that is really bad.

I wonder whether part of the reason people react to it specifically is because they may feel as if they were being "talked down" to by the series on an intellectual level somehow?

Hmm ... I liked the endings of a fair number of PAW series stories a bit more, but oddly the ones that have jumped out the strongest for me as a whole have prolly been Hanasaku Iroha and Nagi Asukara.

(Yeah, I am one of those odd ducks out for whom the series really worked really, really well on lots and lots of levels - though you may have seen that from Pocari and I haranguing one another back and forth in the visitor messages.)

But yeah - gotta admit, whatever else Hanasaku's shortcomings may have been the ending was really good. ^^

I guess the thing that really annoyed me (ironically) was ep 12.

Mentioned this to someone else as well, but the fact that that it made such perfect and logical sense in the entire method of presentation, ambience and ... well ... most everything made me realize they could have made it much more accessible than it was, but they chose to make it difficult to understand and deliberately opaque - or at least it seems so to me.

    Why? -_-

Duuude, when I wanted comedy, I wasn't looking for an ironic answer. Has you nothing to give that no > 13 episodes?

It's true you know ... roosters really do look miserable when outside and it is snowing on them.

Oh how nice of you to play 2(?) games, when I only requested one.

Hmm for that generous act of sharing/playing an extra game have this

Besides sequels? I'm looking forward to Parasyte and the new Gundam, but yeah otherwise it's sequels and a lot of stuff that I'm mildly interested in...

...and then there's Wolf Girl and Black Prince...

It seems I have more hope for Shirobako than most of you. Glasslip may have been a sterile borefest but I can at least appreciate the fact that they tried to make it intellectual. And I quite enjoyed Nagi no Asukara so Glasslip is only one acceptable blip on PA Works' otherwise pleasing record.

    Akatsuki no Yona.

Maybe just something to consider if you already have a full boat of series you actively want to check out, though. ^^

I have read the manga and enjoy it, so I am kinda looking forward to see what they do with the adaptation.
