Transformers helped be solidify my disdain for modern cinema.

When you're at it for that long, it's hard to feel rewarded even when you crack it.

I think that hope would kill me. Like George from Seinfeld, "My hope is to become hopeless."

Not pleasant for anyone. I hope the guy gets caught as quickly as possible.

Same here. I hated the first one too, but the second was offensively stupid.

So far, that's definitely been true. Hate those things!

Yeah... a man can dream though.. a man can dream.

That's good, but of course it's a small consolation at this point. Sounds like you got a game-plan, you're keeping it together, and that's admirable.

Those are some bad, bad movies.

Yeah, I bet there are a lot harder puzzles along the way. This one was hard, but more-so, it was annoying, since it was time-consuming and involved so much back-stepping. Not looking forward to the one you explained.

When I watch those kinds of movies, I always think that things look really lame in comparison now. We need a breath of fresh air in the style department.

It can't get much worse than that, I hope that's not the case. I would not hold up well in your situation, so hang in there. It's making me very angry just by hearing about it, it's making me want to turn vigilante.

Yeah, someone being too insistent on something can sometimes have the opposite effect.

I wouldn't show something like Saw either, it's just too much. Plus, I'm generally trying to bring some decent horror movies when I visit her and my sisters, so most of the Saw movies are disqualified by definition. :P

They're all good, it all depends on how well it fits together with the rest of the character design. Blue is great too, now that I think about it...

That thing was forged in the fiery depths of hell, it was.

It's a very interesting period. Attitudes towards many things were... not great, but boy did they have style in spades!

That's horrible, I'm very sorry, and it brings me great sadness, even though I didn't even know her. I hope you feel better too, it's hard to get through those things, I hope you'll manage. There's so much senseless violence and cruelty in the world, I wish I could do something about it.

Haha well thereyou go guess its more of an 'American thing'

But for sure.. Chinese is one of the world's hardest language imo... But even so.. English isn't that wasy either... No such thing as an easy language

True that lol so basically its another design to get money and for people to hog the controller (jokes) well its not a bad idea but rather weird isn't it?

Haha no idea here... No much of a gamer RPG's would be his next pick

*grabs mop* well better get started Is awyumi your fav TWGOK character?
Ah ok.. Guess that would be rather cramming to fit in another series.. Idolm@ster ends in 7 eps I think? Working not sure...

    But you've already got one

True that. It's important to keep an open mind, although that easier said than done at times.

Luckily I've never been forced to sit through enough of something to forcibly change my mind. I don't think my mother will ever grow to like Saw-like movies either, but she might drift to where she tolerates violence and gore to a higher level.

    Thanks, indeed!

Pink hair is nice. I have a propensity for green and blond hair personally, but I love every color of the rainbow. At least when it comes to anime hair.

Looking forward to it. Played a little further, just got past the clock-tower and took a break there. That sliding-puzzle apple drove me off the wall. Sorry for the late answer, my computer broke down twice... old piece of junk. >-<

Edit: I just had to mention Boardwalk Empire again. Yes, it is damn smooth! Steve Buscemi plays an amazing role, everything looks, sounds and feels like the 20s, and the writing is just top notch. One of the best television series I've ever seen. It deals with everything that was going on at the time. The prohibition era, racial tensions and the rise of the KKK, women's struggle to gain the right to vote, it's all there.

Yeah. It's fine to compare, but to assume that it conforms to the same trends that are popular now isn't a good idea; at least watch it on its own merit.

I think my mother is along the same lines. She's not big on violence and gore either, though my younger sisters "force" her to sit through horrible "horror" movies when they're there, so she's getting more used to it I guess. Some people just have different sensibilities, and a movie that's know for its "ultra-violence" won't appeal to them.

Yeah, thanks. It was a good while ago, perhaps as much as a decade ago, and it's been quiet since, and with it being easier to catch as well, it's not a huge concern anymore, albeit an unpleasant through from time to time.

Those are all great. Overall, I found season 2's characters quite a bit weaker than the first's, but it was still very enjoyable. Weird how they put almost exclusively normal (black and brown) colored hair girls in the second season, while the first tasted the rainbow. Never seen Shugo Chara, and from what I've seen, it looks pretty girly aesthetically, but there's nothing wrong with as far as I'm concerned. In fact, I'm usually more concerned that a show will go too far in the other direction; shoujo is generally preferable to shounen to me. It generally has better themes and less shallow stories.

I was just playing some more now (why it took me some time to respond), and Simon just got murdered and I'm heading out to investigate.

It's easy to feel that way, especially if you're looking it the show after being exposed to dozens of weak and boring male leads that seem to have become popular in recent years. It's a trivial mistake to confuse Shinji with one of them, and those do usually drag the show down.

Thanks! While I love A Clockwork Orange, I think it's an absolutely brilliant film; it's not the sort of movie I expect everyone to enjoy, or even tolerate. The movie has two rape scenes, plenty of unpleasant violence and a plot that questions very serious issues not everyone is prepared to think about. I don't know if I'd recommend it to my mother either.

Heh, good thing she was checking on you there, yeah. You're probably right about driving, but it's not something I'm going to start doing unless I really have to. If I get a job that I can't walk or take public transportation to, for instance. I had never heard the word thrombus before, I'm used to the Norwegian term for it, but it sounds correct that it has something do with thrombi. It's basically a condition where vein become clotted, which caused internal bleeding and other serious issues. I'm being imprecise because medical terms are not something I'm very familiar with in English, but essentially the veins clog. The Norwegian term literally translates to "blood-plug", as in the one in your sink. Thanks for your concern, she has recovered several years ago now, after the major surgery it was fixed, but there's always the chance that it'll happen again. At least now they'll know; last time the major complications were due to a huge misdiagnosis because of the rarity of the condition.

Aye, there's little to dislike. In any other series, I'm sure she'd be the star of the show for me, but with Kami Nomi, especially the first season, I've got my hands full with Kanon and Elsie. I haven't heard her in that role, I think.

I'm actually playing a little bit of Layton right now. Chasing after the white cat and finding myself at the inn right now. Boardwalk Empire is one of the few newer TV series that are just amazing. Huge budget, authentic 1920s feel, Steve Buscemi as a slick two-faced mayor/gangster. It's awesome.

What I find nice about the show is that you don't really need the symbolism. You can take it or leave it. It's has an interesting plot and good characters without needing to go all the way down the rabbit hole, unless you want to. Shinji being whiny is the one complaint against the show that I just find stupid. Everything else I leave up to subjectivity, but saying that the reason you don't like it because the kid is whiny is a bit silly. That's the point of the show, for two reasons. One is that he's a distraught 14 year old boy with father issues, no self-esteem and a bunch of other issues. Secondly, it's meant to show more realistically how it would really turn out if it happened like it does in so many mecha shows, and the world's fate was left in the hands of emotional, vexed teenagers. It's fine not to like that, but to say the show would have been better it it had been absent is missing the point.

It's sort of like saying Clockwork Orange would have been better if only Alex wasn't such a douchebag.

Ah, good thing luck was with you that day. It's very understandable you'd be uncomfortable driving after that, heck, I'm uncomfortable with driving now, completely without any bad experiences. I'm not a car person, though. I doubt I'll ever own one. I wouldn't call it a phobia, but I don't think I could ever be comfortable behind the wheel. About my mother's condition, it's apparently called "thrombus" in English. She has one of the world's rarest blood types, which predisposes her to it, and she's had it twice. She almost lost her leg the last time and has to have major surgery. An expert had to cancel his vacation and fly home to do the procedure. I'm still thankful for that.

She is a cool lady, and her character design is very nice to look at. I've no knowledge of the manga, don't really read a lot of that, but yeah, Kanae Itou is always a joy to listen to. Such a recognizable and adorable voice.

I haven't played much further yet, mostly due to finding out that Boardwalk Empire's second season had started. I've been out of the loop. But I think I'll play some more later today, now that you mention it.
