Music is fantastic, that is almost a human universal. I have met one person who said he didn't really listen to music and wasn't too fond of it... that was just bizarre. I don't actually watch the stuff I put on in the background usually though, I just have it on to listen and an occasional glance.

I rewatch favorites from time to time too. There are some things I never tire of, and some even get better with age and rewatches. That's when you know you got something truly special.

Yeah, strange names does not equal bad music, especially if said strange name is English and the band is Japanese.

Have a good night's sleep, good talking to you as always.

Ah, I see. I like to have something playing as well, but I employ a healthy mix of music and other things. If I'm bored or just reading the news I'll put on some series I've seen many times before (Simpsons, Seinfeld ect) or some internet review/podcast and just let that run while I do whatever. I love to take my phone out and listen to music while I go for long walks around town. The combination of being in motion and listening to inspiring music really stimulates the brain, I often do it when I'm trying to think up scenarios for the role-playing game I occasionally host for instance. I'll remember your expertise if I ever run dry!

Sure is! That's why we're here, I'm sure. There's a lot to choose from, that's for sure. You got to get your priorities straight and just see what kind of watching works for you.

Aye, that's where I heard of them too. I rather like that opening, it's just the name that's bizarre. Even with that explanation, why would they choose such weird synonyms? Bump is a bit of a stretch as a synonym too, but it also sounds like "lump" or "clump", which would make the whole title very different. Anyhow, there's a lot of weird band names out there. (Like Rookiez is Punk'd.)

Speaking of walks earlier, I'm going for one right now, I need to look for an extension cord for my headset downtown.

I'm not that diligent lately, I feel that I get enough of an influx with the openings/ending I find and the occasional character song. I got so much music that I don't have time to listen to as is. >-< Auto-tune is a huge sign of the decline of the music industry. There was always a huge favoritism towards good-looking people, but now it seems that talent is superfluous to becoming an artists... The only thing auto-tune is good for is making funny "songs" out of things that were never intended to be musical. :P

I checked, it came out in 2002, so almost. With movies and anime, you get into most things late regardless, and there's nothing wrong with that. There will always be a long history of things to investigate and watch, and that's great. It's cool to be able to discuss shows as they are airing with other people too of course, but that's not something you need for every single thing you see.

It's nothing compared to some of the things you see. There's a band names "Bump of Chicken." I don't get it. At all. :P Anyhow, yeah, don't worry about seeing that one until you've burned through all the essentials, whatever they may be to you.

Oh yes, definitely. I've found some stuff from series I don't watch/like as well, but it's a lot rarer, since I usually don't actively go out and listen to openings and endings from shows I'm not watching, so I would have to like the band/artist already or stumble upon the op/ed somehow. What is it that you can't acknowledge? Are you referring to garbage like Justin Bieber, Kesha and such? :P

Chobits is pretty "old", around a decade I think. I actually own it on DVD, and I didn't watch it when it was new. Maybe 3-4 years ago.

Yeah, pretty easy mistake to make, especially since "Fatally" is a pretty odd song title. (Odd English titles in Japanese music, no kiddin'... :P) It's not a great series, but it has its charm as you get to know the characters. They don't make'em like that anymore, for better or worse. Not a must-see for anyone though.

We should stop now. We're giving him ideas. Deviously clever ideas.

Got'cha. That's just a personal preference, and a lot of people end up a lot further on the "hard" meter than me.

I got a lot of interest in both English and Japanese music, but what I actually listen most to is in a constant state of flux. I probably listen to a bit more Japanese overall, though. FMA introduced me to a lot of Japanese music. I watched it way back when I really wasn't into anime as an interest/hobby at all, but it got me a lot of cool music to listen to. I don't watch, and never have, Bleach or any of the other big shounen action shows. It's pretty much the only genre that I usually steer clear of.

I think that's the song I first heard from them too, but I can't be sure. It's definitely the first one that really stuck in my mind, though. I never skipped the opening, no matter how eager I was to see the next episode.

Ah, there we go, some that I forgot. I haven't heard Double Harmonize Shock, but I love Fatally (although I mistakenly thought it was Fatality up until now :P) and Second Flight is just fantastic. That song alone is probably better than Onegai Twins. :P

Well I figured since you've made the group that I'd run it past you.

In the iM@S social group what do you think of an "iM@S manga discussion" thread being made?

Aye. He could probably get away with it for a long time because most of his crimes would be very petty.

I'm not a huge metal-head either. I like a good deal of it, but there are a ton of sub-genres that I just don't dig. When it comes to rock, I like almost every genre, though I tend to stray towards the harder stuff when it comes to favorites.

Ah, I see, so the vast majority of your musical interest lies with the Japanese. Ellengarden and Home Made Kazoku I've never listened to, so I can't add much there. Asian Kung-Fu Generation I've found a lot of nice songs from. Rewrite is a great one, I remember it fondly from Full Metal Alchemist.

Round Table is amazing. They got such a unique sound and style, I adore them to death. Their music and songs from the Aria series; words cannot do it justice, and that's no hyperbole. It's peaceful, transcendent and utterly beautiful. Other stuff I've loved from them include Let me be With You from Chobits and their stuff from Welcome to the NHK, which I can't remember the name of off-hand.

I love Kotoko too. She has a bunch of memorable and cool tracks. Agony, Re-Sublimity, Face of Fact, Blaze, Oblivion and Mighty Heart are the favorites I can remember.

The only problem with that is that Souma would probably get caught because he enjoyed what he was doing too much and just didn't make a dash quickly enough.

Ah, yeah, I have heard some of those, but not all. It's nice music, I like how genuinely happy he looks when he performs; he truly enjoys what he does. I like quite a bit English music. I'm a lot of rock and metal all the way from the 80s and up to the early 2000s. Stuff like System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, Manson and Disturbed. Most of that is probably a bit more of the hard side than you like I'd guess, though.

Any particular Japanese bands you like? I like quite a few J-rock bands, but my knowledge is not extensive at all outside what I actually listen to.

I don't know. Maybe he is. He's impossible to read.

That's some good music right there. I'm only vaguely familiar with Supertramp, but the rest I know quite well. A lot of good tracks there, Bachman Turner Overdrive is probably my favorite among them, they got soul and style.
