2014-02-03 03:57RyoneaOh, I see XD I'm also thinking to get a kind of revenge after my thesis is done, but it's still long way to go
I see... I think it is quite largely dependent of the game type. RPG games, both japanese and western (like Skyrim, fallout, etc.) I think is better when played alone, while some type of games are really better for multiplayer. Well, it's only the proposal plan that get approved at least the premise of the research is accepted. Now I'm working on it to get the approval for the research design, after that hopefully things will go faster... since most people are stuck quite long on this proposal stage.
Really? I think of you to be good in Japanese since you play a lot of non-localized japanese games and not to mention you went to Japan relatively without problems too. Oh, a new computer! I assume it'll be loaded with high-end hardwares then? since video encoding is really time consuming indeed and stronger hardwares could really shorten the encoding time. I remember that the computers in my uni's audio visual laboratory has 16GB of RAMs, wow
Hahaha, yeah. but I don't regret it although sometimes I still think about it, lol XD I spent that much since it might be my last time to come to such a festival. Yep, I've also seen that particular scan of the figure. Very very accurate indeed, as expected from Alter.
Well, I've read the manga up to the latest translated chapter (Illya became a doll) that's why I'm quite worried on how the events will turn out there are a lot of spoilers in the fate subforum... and it seems it'll be quite some time before Miyu can rejoin her friends. T_T Oh, and there's a teaser scan about 2wei anime. Can't wait!
Hahah, to be honest I'm quite surprised that there are quite some people who find the show to be... "fuyukai"? since I'm enjoying it very much due to it being a bit different from KyoAni's usual show. But nah, that's not a problem.
Oh, the old one. Yeah, from what I see and hear, the old one is still better in terms of hardware, especially since the new one switched back to LCD screen instead of keeping the OLED like the old one. And yes, it feels far better compared to PSP indeed. I've tried my friend's. The touch panel and screen need quite some time to be used to, though a little fact that it has second analog stick really helps Yep, the newer Neptunia games are on Vita indeed, also the plus version of previous atelier games (rorona, meruru, totori, ayesha). Seems like you need to gain more money to get the 3 love live! games too!
This season... so far I'm only following 3 anime: Chuunibyou s2, no-rin, and mikakunin de shinkoukei. -->> really like this one XD also considering noragami and maybe to aru hikuushi e no koi uta since Ayacchi is one of the cast, hahaha XD how about you?
2013-12-26 10:07RyoneaHahah, normally it's the work stuffs that get distracted by amusements, but it seems you're the reverse of it XD (the work stuffs get in the way of your Nanoha project). But yeah, we need to take a break once in a while. Work hard, play hard(er), lol I'm also taking a break myself in this holiday season so I do a lot of gaming stuffs.
Yeah, not all people go multiplayer. In fact, there are a lot of them who despise it. Still, the recent development of most big video games toward multiplayer do make me wonder whether this is what the gamer wants or not. I too personally love playing solo since I can take my time and immerse myself doing a lot of stuffs. Sometimes I do play multiplayer, preferably a coop multiplayer game. They're very fun indeed, especially if I meet some decent players and we did a very good teamwork. But one thing I noticed compared to single player experience is the lack of story or some sort.... so it's all about gameplay mechanic.
Oh, my proposal was thankfully approved! there are some things need revising, though but I've been working on them. Well, this is my turn for the late reply lol
I see, a rip from a proper source and decent encoding is really the best. Are you going to release your work? (in torrent or something). I thought you're going to sub them yourself since it seems you're very skilled at Nihongo but it would take pretty long time indeed so it's best to use a good one available.
$150 is my savings for 4 months!! thankfully the money "recovered" in time.
Yeah, I regularly saw posts of figure collectors using tokyohunter so I think it must be very reliable. I too have some old figures I want to own, but even if I can find them, I'm not prepared to pay the extra costs
maybe you've already seen this, but there's a new hayate figure. It's by Alter IIRC.
And lol! Kongou is really Karen alright! XD FAIYAAAAA~!!! <-- love that XD
About Miyu, beats me. I like the fact that she can't imagine how to fly since it balances her character who is goo at almost everything. I'm kinda worried about the recent development of the manga. Hopefully she won't be turned into a villain
I assume you've already watched the last episode of Kyoukai no Kanata? I find the plot twist was kind of unexpected but quite disappointed with the ending, though... there are still a lot of questions lingering IMO. I really like the 6th episode when they're trying to kill a fruit type youmu. Oh, speaking of joke episodes, have you seen the short "Idol Saiban" episodes? watch the 3rd one! XD but some people might find it gross, though.
The reply was so late that this time it's almost the start of a new season again, lol
Oh, congratulations for your purchase! was it the new Vita slim or the old one? I don't really know about Wii, but it should be pretty cheap now, right? Hahah, I guess your shopping spree is still going strong as ever
Oh yeah, Merry Christmas for you! hopefully you have a pleasant holiday season this year!
2013-11-08 12:16RyoneaNah, that's okay. Been busy with the Nanoha project or is it something else?
My thesis (if my proposal is approved) will be about video games. Particulary highlighting on how the games are more and more designed towards multiplayer and emphasizing on their social aspects. The main question is whether the gamers also tend to look more for the social activities compared to the entertainment value when playing video games nowadays. I personally felt that way depending on the game. For example, currently me and my friends are playing Dragon's Crown together (4 players). I find myself more wanting to play together as a team rather than beating the game itself.
That's the main point. I hope it can be approved although I'm quite worried since I don't think I designed the research correctly
Woah, sounds like a big project for sure ^^; do you start your own sub (started by ripping the episodes from BD, encoded it, and put your own translations) or just swapping and editing the existing ones? like using video from source A, audio from source B, etc.
Yeah, after I saw my friend playing ToX, I'm tempted to buy one too... but sadly no money I spent around $150 for the Anime Festival Asia trip T_T although it's really worth it.
You might've heard this but for old figures, IIRC there is a service which is specialized in finding old and rare merchandises, it's called Tokyo hunter or something. Also, if you want to look at 2nd hand goods, there's a shop named Mandarake in Japan. Who knows there might be a few Nanoha figures there. Oh, so you have the 2nd movie first instead of the first one? guess we're in the same boat regarding money
The Kiniro artbook is very nice indeed. The white cover and clean minimalist design inside makes it feel quite elegant IMO. Lots of unseen (at least for me) artworks too
Oh, Toyama Nao? she has a good voice for sure. never been into KanColle before, but does her voice sounds quite the same as Karen?
To clarify, it's the style of Takashi Takeuchi's artstyle that I don't like which is used for type moon's main series such as fate/stay night and fate/zero. Strictly for the characters, though. I agree about the background and the others This is why I tend to like the spin-offs as they're not done by him. Fate/extra was drawn by wada rco and prisma illya is by... uh I forgot the name XD at any rate, Miyu is gorgeous indeed I have finished reading the manga till the latest chapter and wow... never thought that the story could be so serious. Can't wait for zwei and drei to be animated!
Oh, is something wrong with Kyoukai no Kanata? I personally find it the most enjoyable this season (then again I watch almost all KyoAni works XD). And yeah, that's almost all of the anime this season! XD do you really watch all of them? o.O so far my favorites are Kyoukai no Kanata and Strike the Blood (agree about Yukina <3). Currently trying log horizon and maybe Nagi no Asukara later. Oh, and I also watch sekai de ichiban tsuyoku naritai (the wrestling girls) for... a disturbing reason XD since the main heroine is voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, and the character got hurt a lot of times since it's about wrestling... well, you know what I mean I find it very enjoyable, lol XDDD
Yes, her voice was so small and she didn't talk much that time. Probably a combination of awe regarding the crowd and also fatigue from continuous singing. IIRC there were some fans who tried to shout "Harasho!" to her when she was MC-ing
2013-09-26 01:02RyoneaI can't relax yet until I got my thesis proposal approved unfortunately
Oh, what kind of Nanoha project you're working on? I assume it's a fansub? since you mentioned audio, video, etc.
Oh, you bought it already! yeah, the book is very thick and very worth it IMO. With Ayesha, and Escha & Logy, I wonder if there would be another compilation artbook like the Arland chronicles. Maybe it depends on the illustrator too.
I see, 35 hours is enough for me. that's quite long but not quite short either. Is the optional boss stronger than the story's final boss?
Oh, a kind of new game plus, then. Is there any other advantage other than the ability to bring the items from previous playthrough? like maybe a new story plot is unlocked or something.
Yup, those are all I have. Aside from how expensive figures are, I also only collect my favorite characters. You should see the collections of other members here! for example, relentlessflame's. He has hundreds of merchandises!
Yeah, but the shipping fee might increase too due to the added dimensions and weight
Nendo Millhi also get her own chocobo so she's definitely a pair with Leo-sama nendo could be very addicting if you're into photography. It's really cute and pretty fun to play with, especially if we have more than 1 nendos. We can pose them together, or maybe simply swapping their parts. I put Yuki's face with Mugi's hair... and the result kinda looked like Aisaka Taiga, lol XD. You just can't take enough photos of them XD Oh, due to how expressive they are, we can also make some stories and moments like these: 1 2 3
Oh, which Nanoha figures are you aiming for? if you're looking for the older ones, I think they're already sold out long time ago... this is one thing about collecting figures. Best to buy around their release time, otherwise we can't get them anymore since they're very quick to be sold out. Sometimes some figures are getting a resale due to high demand and series' popularity, though.
I see... so it's like an alternative story then? considering the anime is nearing the end (or have it ended already?) I think I'll just watch it later with my friend then. Hahah, yeah. When I look at animes, I firstly consider the artstyle, the story etc. are second priorities. I find Type Moon's usual artstyle is pretty plain to be honest. That's why I don't follow the main series. But I did play Fate/Extra for the PSP. Firstly it's solely because of the artstyle, but the game itself is pretty good. Really love the red Saber
I watched Prisma Illya at my friend's house. It was the 7th episode and wow... looks like I hit the jackpot. I'm already liking Miyu since then.
As for Kin-iro's artbook. It just arrived yesterday, yay! it's really expensive due to the low exchange rate in my country but at least the contents are more than enough to make up for it. Hara Yui's artstyle is just lovely.
Fall season... seems like there will be quite many to try: Kikou Shoujo, NouCome, Strike the Blood, Tokyo Ravens, IS2, and Kyoukai no Kanata. How about you? a bit funny to see that this fall season has more action anime compared to the summer one.
Btw. at the first week of this month I finally went to Anime Festival Asia in my country. And whoa it's amazing and quite a huge upgrade compared to last year. There's an official Love Live! booth too. And just like any Japanese merchandises, the items are expensive . They sell smartphone accessory set (earphone, charger, stickers, cards, cleaning cloth, and special box), pins, towels, folder files, tapestry, and t-shirts. Small stuffs yet pricey. If we spent more than (roughly) 4500 yen over there, we can get Emi Nitta's (Honoka's seiyuu) autograph. She's invited as a guest to promote Love Live! over here. The 1st episode was screened with her as the MC. Apparently she's surprised that Love Live! is very big over here.
As a side note, Eli's seiyuu (Yoshino Nanjo) also came here!. But not as Eli, she came as fripSide's vocalist. one of the guest artist who performed at the concert. Mostly it's Railgun songs. I find it funny when she mentioned Indonesian food that she tried and likes. XD her voice was quite small and cute at that time.
2013-08-23 10:23RyoneaUnfortunately I can't pace up my drawing since I have to work on my thesis soon so I'm getting busier too, but thanks for the encouragement!
The price is like a typical artbook IMO (around 2300-2800 yen) but that Atelier Arland chronicles are expensive indeed because it's very thick (IIRC above 200 pages). But it's totally worth it! My friend had one and I took a look of it
Haha, yeah. To be fair, though, not all of Japanese games will get their own artbook except the visual guides bundled with the limited edition of the game, so going for every artbook for each game is still the way to go.
Oh, btw. you can check this site for game artbooks. That's where I found the news about Neptunia and Atelier artbooks before they release. Sometimes they have news about limited items too, like the Neptunia dakimakura cover. It's been a while since the last update, but I think you can check the previous entries. The site is from SoftBank Creative, and apparently the artbooks that got there are published by them. I don't really know all game series affiliated with it, though...
Hahah, I know that feel. We can easily got absorbed into games. Whoa, 70 hours in a few days? Oh, how long is the game until the ending? (an average duration with normal flow of grinding and doing side missions) is it above 40 hours? and about the extra stuffs... I never had any limited edition games before, so I don't know but from what I know, the US version really tend to have the books shrinked down a bit compared to the japanese version.
Oh, never knew that Tales has that kind of customization XD and judging from your examples... we can place the accessories anywhere on the body? now that sounds fun pardon me since I never play any Tales series before my JRPG this gen is only Star Ocean 4 and I have a lot of fun with it it's nice to see the second game will also be localized. Hopefully they'll keep the Japanese audio lol
Um, by "how much" do you mean the price or the number of nendos I have? Those in the photo is all I have. I bought each of them within a span of about 1 year. As for the price... typically it's around 2500 yen, just like a typical artbook, but there are some expensives ones, depending on their accessories. That Leo-sama has a base price of 4500 yen, thanks to the large chocobo, lol as for the shipping... I don't really know how much the typical fee is, but importing stuffs from Japan to my country will usually cost another 1500-2500 yen so the price is almost doubled a normal nendoroid box is smaller than a regular scaled figure indeed (a comparison), but the ones with many accessories are quite large. My Leo-sama's box is almost double of that standard nendo box.
Haha, yeah. We have to know the goods and bads of it for sure. So what are the bads of Japan that you found while staying there? I only knew a bit, like how there are many smokers there (in big cities), suicides, and consumptive lifestyle especially fashion and foods. Oh, did you stay near Akihabara or not? but I believe it doesn't matter since most otaku are willing to go through far distances in order to get there how are the atmosphere there? and did you manage to visit maid cafe or something?
Well, I don't watch neptunia because I'm kinda disappointed with the artstyle since it's the main selling point for me.. and I've watched the 1st episode, but I don't really understand the story. Timeline-wise do the anime stand alone or placed within the games? since it feels like the anime is tailored for people who played the games before, and I never played them before so I don't really know the story Quite same reason for Prisma Illya, since I'm not into Type Moon works. But the artstyle is really intriguing indeed maybe I'll watch it someday.
Yes, Kin-iro Mosaic is just too cute for me. They really do well with the designs, and also the voices! particularly Alice and Karen's for me. And apparently my wish about the artbook came true! yay! XD but I'm a bit concerned since yen price is so high now compared to my currency T_T
Very agree with Fantasista Dolls. Those two guys really look weird the story so far feels don't have any particular direction and there are a lot of things missing. I also find it very fun to watch and don't mind those lacks it has largely due to a nostalgic feeling as the anime feels very '90s and this kind of anime isn't available nowadays so it's very refreshing.
2013-08-07 07:31RyoneaHello for you too! glad to see you're as energetic as ever.
Hmm.. maybe. Sunrise only served as the animator IIRC since it was a joint project with Dengeki G's magazine and... I forgot the other one but then again I don't know whether they have some kind of story already or not. It seems that the stories in drama CD, manga, and anime version all different from each other.
Rin and Hanayo are quite abundant in terms of fanart number. I hope everyone will get their turn to be the center of the PVs since Muse seems to be a "leaderless" group as Honoka said back in the.. uh.. I forgot the episode number when they're choosing the leader.
Thanks for your compliment I guess I just need to draw more often then.
I'm with you about rare colored eyes, especially pink. Everytime I see a pink-eyed character, I tend to be drawn to them although I don't really know or like them. Ah I see... that's quite unfortunate, then. But as for Efreet itself, is it really a doing of someone else as Shidou suspected? (or it is only his denial?)
Oh, so it's still a normal harem after all. Now I wonder how he would manage the girls.
I'm really into LNs so I don't keep up with the new characters and illustrations. She's really hot indeed
If you want to save some money, I think you should just get the compilation artbooks. It contains almost all of the materials from the games also with some extras. For Neptunia series, so far the compilation is only from the 1st and 2nd game. The contents from the artbook of 1st Neptunia game and mk2 game are all there, except for few villains design sheet, I guess...
For Atelier series, especially Arland chronicles. There's also a compilation artbook containing all the three games: Rorona + Totori + Meruru. It's the same with the neptunia artbooks, the contents from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd game artbooks are all there (maybe minus some minor ones) also with some extras. As for Falcom games... I don't really follow the series so I have no idea
Neptunia V isn't compiled yet, but there are new Neptunia projects for PS Vita: Neptune idol PP, Neptunia remake, and Neptunia game of Noire... so I expect there would be another compilation artbook after all of those games come out. Atelier Alchemist of the Dusk chronicles might be the same too. So far we have Ayesha and Escha & Logy, maybe they're still waiting for the next game.
But this is all just up to you, since I know the soul of a collector this is just my opinion, especially if you want to save some money.
Haha, yeah. I know many people who fell down into that path XD they said they don't really have enough money , so they aim for figma and nendoroids. But before they knew it, they already spent soooo much. Moreover if the characters are a part of a group. Madoka Magica, for example. They'll feel incomplete if they only buy the character they like so they ended up buying the complete set
As for me, I only buy the characters I really like. PS3 games and artbooks are my first priority. Oh, and here's my Leo-sama and my entire figure family.
Whoa, that's a lot of stuffs you're anticipating. I kind of forgot the figure bonus of Xillia game.. is it Milla? I assume your Xillia should've arrived by around this time.
Future wife? is she a Japanese? that's amazing. Yeah, I hope I could go there someday even if just for a few days. But it'd be many years later IMO
That's a lot of series you're following. I only watch Kiniro Mosaic, Fantasista Dolls, Free!, High School DxD New, and also Gatchaman Crowds. Kiniro Mosaic is my top favorite. The cuteness is just too much. I also started to take a liking to the manga illustrator. He/she should release an artbook!
Fantasista Doll is quite cheesy actually, but I'm watching it since it really feels like a girly magical girl anime from the 90s.
