Thanks for addressing the issue Terminator, now I have to tailor a certain event called the "DOVE Inicident" to explain how did he went from a normal powered armor guy to a IS pilot
Spoiler for Dove Incident:
Due to the experimental nature of the Weyand suit (since some of the parts are made from unknown materials), there were some things that were untested, little did Magi knew. It was a start of a chain of events...
While fighting against several enemy mercenaries in a remote area at [CLASSIFIED]. Crest was able at times hire IS as consorts but it was somewhat pricy and mostly a once in a lifetime once. An recent cybenetics project was given to Magi as well. But Magi was adjusting well in battle and he was thinking nothing could happen that will be abnormal.
However, something happened. When the IS pilot was fighting off several unnamed power suits, Magi noticed an enemy squad "trying" to ambush her. The result is the powered armor receives a power surge which did something with the programming...
"INITATING OP-INTENSIFY"
The result was turning Magi's suit to a full blown IS. Not a flight worthy IS but still an IS. As soon as his suit was finished being a conduit he begans smashing in the enemy opposition in frightening efficiency. Even the IS pilot was surprised at the suddent destructive potential.
His IS class is designated as "Ground Pounder", landlocked IS which compensates lack of flight with terrifying land based mobility. While it can make light hops and weapons midair, it is nothing compared to what IS do.
That said, the incident got him tossed into school despite being much older than most of the other male IS pilots.

Wow, this thread is seriously lively.
People are making multiple posts a day. :eyespin:
Anyway here are my character profiles.
Spoiler for Asano Kazuki:
Name: Asano Kazuki
Gender:Male(though he'd be insulted if you couldn't tell)
Age: 20
Personality: Kazuki's a cynic. Though he's generally lively in friendly conversations, he would adopt a cynical and somewhat overbearing personality, should the situation not favor him. If anything, he had sparked his own cynicism. Honestly, who would take up a dead end job just because "you get to work with cool power armour?
Spoiler for Lau Mei Ling:
Name: Lau Mei Ling
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Affliction: United States Army.
Personality: A lively girl, energetic and quirky, Mei Ling is well liked among her peers. In the battlefield however, it's a completely different story. Hot headed and temperamental, she is usually seen (or rather heard) hurling the occasional insult to her instructors and would tend to act rashly without proper guidance. A hard worker, her IS pilot rating increases daily. Though she admits that she enjoys seeing the improvement. A childhood friend of Kazuki, she is rather uncomfortable with his presence, due to the fact that they parted on bad terms.
IS info:
Unit Name: M5V3 'Grunt'
Weapons: 6 shoulder mounted Nano-Thermite Ballistic Missile pods, Heavy Gauss Rifle w/ Chain-Bayonet.
Unit Description: The mainline of the United States IS arsenal, the 'Grunt' is a simplified and overall weaker version of the US first-generation IS, making it suitable for mass-production. A well-rounder unit, the Grunt is equipped with various arsenals that granted it a bigger 'punch', each suited for a different task, allowing versatility. The Grunt also utilizes a medium fusion thruster pack, which made it faster compared to the other mass produced units.
Hmm, it seems that I'm the only one who's character uses a massed produced unit.:upset:
@Terminator98
Thanks for the reply, though I have 2 more questions to ask you.
How do you post the google docs the way you do and what's the show your avatar is from?
Thanks in advance. :D
She looks incredibly tsundere, instead of the kuudere I made her to be...and I am still having problems trying to draw her side view.
Asuras

If that isn't tsundere I'm on some acid trip or other.
Nice drawing anyways! :)
I wanted to be rid of Alice's EN chainsaw, and switch her to an entirely ranged role. Thus, I'm replacing it with a twin hip-mounted railgun coupled with a special bullet type which uses post-muzzle jet propulsion to further increase the velocity of a bullet to ridiculous speeds.
Spoiler for New Osirus Weapon:
Medium Range Weapon 2:
- Twin JBR Cannon: Railgun
Mounted on both sides of Osirus' hips, sits a long-barreled railgun. The barrels fold backwards when not in use, reducing size and keeping a slightly more aero-dynamic form for the IS. The load time of each bullet is slow, but the speed at which the projectile flies makes up for a lack of time to hit; they are near-instantaneous in medium fighting ranges. When the railgun slugs leave the barrel, a computer chip switches on the one-time bullet jet, further speeding it up in mid-flight.
Though powerful, these weapons are likely the most close to a prototype than all others. Bullets may be incredibly fast, but their stabilization mechanism isn't quite perfect, making for slightly inaccurate shots. The railgun material is sub-par, and the rails can heat up quickly through repeated use. Best used in tandem with the gatling weapons for maximum chances of enemy contact and firepower.

What? What are you trying to do to my Eri-chan you fiend!? :frustrated: ( ;) )
Toyosaki Aki, huh? Well if she dosn't use her Yui voice I have nothing against this suggestion.
Yes, could be pretty much possible. Would also help her not only being some kind of comedy relief.
Oh, and mentioning gay. Guess who's running around and tells people that Itsuki's interessts are going into a certain direction, after seeing him grabbing "Charles" hand. :heh:
Itsuki? Isn't it Ichika? O.o
And yeah... she does look kinda Yamato Nadesico... Sweet Gentle, etc... Off course, as you specified, over the top energy kinda makes her different.

Ok, two more chars to add to my index.
What do you mean the way I post my google docs? The format? If that is so, I use the Verdana font, size 10 for standard writing, size 14 for Titles.
To insert those lines, go into the "insert" tab and you'll see the the thing needed for that.
If you meant how do I post google docs... Just google google docs (doh) and hit "create new". Better have a Gmail account I think to do that.
As for the character in my avatar... It is actually a mech from Armored Core I personally designed and asked a buddy to draw for me. Here's the original sketch:
As I listened, this was what I pictured in my mind:
0:00 - 0:06 = Various shots of IS Academy
0:07 - 0:19 = Individual of each main chars in ISA
0:20 - 0:32 = Iinfite Stratos : Whatever Title we gonna put logo!
0:32 - 0:39 = Karon's dramatic pose scene
0:39 - 0:45 = Rachel and Jyun poses scene
0:45 - 0:48 = Helena!
0:48 - 0:52 = Erika!
0:52 - 1:00 = All the girls together doing various stuff
1:00 - 1:02 = Various Girls with their IS forms
1:02 - 1:08 = Saji plus possible x Karon
1:08 - 1:14 = Edward and Alex both their ISes appear in the background
1:14 - 1:30 = Various fight scenes and perhaps shipping scenes.
There, total anime opening. :P

This looks... kinda bizarre. Suddenly getting hax powers from nowhere at a certain point, just because you've gotten PLUS enhancements isn't very... ehm. Dunno.
Maybe you could make it so that Magi's suit already has those hax abilities, Crest wants to test it with other ISes, thinks of sending Magi to the IS Academy (he could use it anyways, he's a bit newbie).
They discuss with IS Academy, and come to a common agreement. Magi can come and deploy into the school, but her data will not only be heading to Crest's research lab, ISA will also get readings from it.
So far... possible order for the arrival of the characters:
BEFORE THE STORY BEGINS:
- Karon
- Saji
ALREADY AT IS ACADEMY AT THE BEGINNING OR ARRIVES SHORTLY AFTER THE BEGINNING:
- Alice
- Maria
- Erika
- Helena
- Jyun
- Rachel (we have a problem though... are we following her timeline? If that is so... all the main cast is in 2-1, and we are basically one year after the original story. I don't think a lot of us wrote our chars in this aspect)
ARRIVE AFTER CHARLES ARRIVES
- Alex
- Edward
NOT SURE WHERE TO PUT
- Rachael Brown (US Instructor)
- Lau Mey Ling (At some other place other than ISA)
- Asano Kazuki (Same problem as his childhood friend)
- Magi (Still elaborating on his origins so that he doesn't seem to drop out of a "camouflaged" dimensional hole)
Pilot Name: Alice Smith Nickname: Abyss Age: 17 Gender: Female Appearance: A tall girl compared to most, Alice stands at an average height of around five feet eight inches. By looking, one can tell she is built in a fit manner, though it is only to be expected for such a pilot. Nonetheless, she keeps a good frame, being not as thin as most girls, and possessing a higher muscle density while still keeping an incredible figure; something many have found out the hard way. She isn't a notably well-endowed figure, but certainly has matured as a woman at the normal pace.
Not one to show off, Alice usually keeps conservative clothing on, seemingly very rare to sport a revealing outfit or otherwise expressive wardrobe. She prefers diluted colors of grey, white, green, and black, preferring an intermingling of colors, checkerboard patterns especially.
Alice was born a natural blonde, possessing a rather whitened color of golden hair. She keeps it at a medium length, never getting past her shoulder blades, and doesn't seem to style it in any particular way, leaving the fine straight hair to fall naturally. Occasionally, Alice is found tying it up in a spiked bun, letting two bundles of hair to fall behind her earlobes, though this is usually an occurrence only during extensive training or tournaments. The single ribbon she uses during such events is a silk, tattered, and fairly short green one.
Her eyes convey that of a responsible girl, never showing any real hint of aloofness or mischievousness. They are a streamlined and slightly intimidating pair of jet-black eyes, her iris and pupil barely distinguishable from each other. Nevertheless, they instill a sense of wonder to those who gaze back, as if they were endless pools of darkness. She isn't proud of the color, calling it, "Boring," but many have commented on the subtle beauty. Personality: Unlike the many hundreds of ecstatic women out on the training regiment, Alice finds herself silently happy about it. She isn't one to express herself with words, preferring to be the quiet, out-of-the-way girl in the crowd. While one would assume her to be shy, this is not the case. Merely, she can't find the words to say when in a conversation; sometimes called a mental affliction by doctors. In essence, she has trouble speaking clearly, studdering or skipping words in sentences at random intervals. Alice understands her problem, and thus speaks infrequently or with short sentences.
What she says however, is certainly not in accordance with her apparent reserved personality. She speaks with pride, despite occasional screw-ups, and doesn't really reflect too much on them when they occur, easily skipping over the error and continuing. Unfortunately for some, when she doesn't go back to fix the word, they can be left confused over her meaning.
She isn't afraid to stand up for herself, and is known quite well for having never lost a fist-fight. She possesses little weapon skills, and so certainly wouldn't handle a gun or sword with grace. The IS itself is the only weapon she can manage to wield.
Alice isn't easily flustered, and when rebutted or denied truth she responds with a slightly angry silence, her eyes showing a control not to outburst in a negative manner. When in her IS, she is ruthless, never ceasing to remain on the offensive. Barrage after barrage, salvo after salvo, she never hesitates to keep the trigger bolted down. She despises chases, naturally due to her IS limitations, and -with even more scorn- hates a close-quarters battle. Ironic considering her adept fighting skills using her own hands. History: When news of the IS' true combat capability was released to the world, many scrambled for an arms race to counter such incredible power. Not unlike the Cold War, both Russia and America speedily fastened funds into the production of a similar product, or onto the acquisition of an already-created core. Progress was slow, and prototypes failed to live up to their intended goals. Eventually, however, both countries received complimentary cores from Japan, allowing them to reverse-engineer what they could, save for the black box-core itself.
Two cores, one on the West coats and one on the East were put to the test, and their frames were extensively studied and upgraded. But what was most important was not the mechanism itself, but the pilot.
Alice was selected amongst a large group of candidates, as her naturally-inclined skills best fit the bill. She participated and functioned well in tests, and was given the opportunity to further help the US extend the power of the cores they received.
When Osirus was at its final stages, the Los Angeles Military Technology Academy received rights to send Alice off to Japan, heading for the famed IS academy there. Within weeks she had arrived, packed and ready to go.
Though quite timid of the strange place, and with a sub-par Japanese vocabulary, she was meek at first, but slowly became more accustomed to its society. Affiliation: USA IS Deploy: Black metal belt
Name: Osirus-J Model Number: 287 Shipped to: San Francisco, California. USA Pilot: Alice Smith Appearance: Combat Focus: Explosive/Ranged
Osirus focuses on a strict attack regiment; going for the intense offensive on the get-go. Osirus stays at a very ranged distance, and with the help of advanced aiming and prediction systems, can very easily strike a fast-moving target from afar. It cannot stay on the defensive side for long, as its limitations are quite severe. Weaponry:
Medium Range Weapon:
-Twin GBL: Laser Gatlings (Burst Type)
On both lower arms, Osirus sports a large-caliber laser gatling. With three rotating barrels, the gatling can fire off a three-burst salvo every four seconds. Each bolt contains immense energy, and as such, requires the barrels a cool-down period during extended use. The more she fires, the longer they have to cool down. While the time between each salvo is around four seconds, the actual barrel-rotation starts within three.
Medium Range Weapon 2:
-Twin JBR Cannon: Railgun
Missile System:
-Twin HIVE/WS: Large-Salvo Missile Luancher System
Mounted on the shoulders of Osirus, two large rectangular objects rest. Both are nearly 3/4 the size of the main IS frame, and attribute to the most weight on it s such. Both boxes (upon deployment) rise from the back and split into a horizontal 'W' shape, extending the tips parallel to the ground. Each of the boxes contains three 'prongs,' and each prong houses 45 mini-type high-activity missiles (for each salvo, a total of 270 missiles). Each missile packs a relatively large punch for its size -they contain a highly reactive nitrogen explosive package, designed to be on par with large dynamite package but within a smaller area- but still do little damage single-handedly. Each prong controls its own 45-salvo, and prongs work between each other for further tactical control. These smart missiles coordinate extremely maneuverable and highly effective runs for its target, making a nearly inescapable volley. If the opponent can't dodge them all, they are still left with a chance to minimize damage however.
Oirus contains several forms for the missiles, of which Alice affectionately calls the "Superbowl Book."
Long Range Weapon:
-SuperDense AR Cannon: Charge/Apocalyptic Rift Cannon Rail System
Osirus most deadly weapon, the ARC is known to be one of the US' most unstable, yet highly effective weapons platform, seeing combat on military-grade tanks as well. The ARC Project was developed four years ago under the guidance of renowned scientist, Ferdinand Brocker. It began as a much larger scheme, planned to be implemented as a large building rather than mounted on an IS platform. Eventually, they managed to minimize the size for their very own IS model, changing it into one of the Us most important assets.
Osirus possesses three disembodied floating rails, floating silently behind and slightly above the IS. They remain inactive until deployed, hovering above the IS and positioning itself before the torso of Osirus in a triangular formation, acting as an open barrel of sorts.
ARC is a very distinguishable weapon, known to be both beautiful, and terrifyingly destructive. ARC sequences start with a charge period, requiring relative inactivity of the IS. Only short walking movements are capable during charge. Osirus (due to regulations of inter-country tournaments) has a downgraded version, requiring a charge time of nearly 15 seconds before release. However, due to the shorter time of charge, it also has a downgraded attack ability (still utterly destructive nonetheless). When ready, the beam can fire, shooting out a large and bright green laser of unknown energy. Upon contact with solid matter, the explosion results in a nearly 300 foot radius 360 degree blast, the energy of it persisting for several seconds before collapsing into a singularity. What is left is a perfectly smooth crater, as if the very matter was obliterated utterly. In contact with an IS absolute defense system however, it acts as an impact explosion.
Most imagine this to be the end, but are suddenly astounded when the crater erupts again, as a nuclear-esque explosion sends all of the collapsed material as a surge of pure energy in all directions. The standard issue correlates to a tactical nuke in explosive power, but the tournament IS keeps this explosion to that of a US MOAB.
Do note, that such a shot is extremely lucky to hit an IS directly, and as such is meant as a surprise weapon or for AOE multiple-combatant battles.
Structural Stats: Due to the extremely large weapon count, Osirus possesses little mobility in the air and on the ground. It sports a very hardy set of armor as such to further help protect it from fast-moving IS. It's CQC abilities are next to nothing, even if the operator is extensively trained, so Osirus users tend to keep away from such encounters.
Overall, it is a tank of an IS, sacrificing speed and mobility to a great degree for firepower and armor. Gadgets: Osirus legs sport a bracing mechanism and an enhanced zoom functionality, allowing most shots to hit their target or barely graze them. An advanced prediction-system further aids the operator in foretelling an opponents whereabouts and potential movements.
As mentioned in the missile weapon section, Osirus contains a database of playbooks for missile operation, making sure to effectively increase their chance of striking their targets.
Edited... Again. :uhoh:
Woah, woah, woah. I've been missing out. I didn't know someone was making a fanfiction with all of our OC's! That's wonderful! So, yea, I just slipped in a transfer to the academy... Greedy me.
I rid her of that brutish chainsaw and replaced it with the weapon I described earlier and added in a head-shot of Alice herself. Likely I'll redo the drawing of Osirus later.

Magi is also post Charles.
Spoiler for Magi's background:
Samuel "Magi" Gettysburg was one of the many participants of the HUMAN PLUS Project. Their original goal is to interface the pilot with the OP-Intesify system mounted to a variety of mechanized weapons, namely tanks and planes. This will allow the unit to be pushed to higher levels of combat effectiveness. With the advent of IS however, powered armor tech was the new buzzword.
Trying to use scraps of data to create the powersuits, they realize that it cannot compete with the IS but CREST was still seeking a loophole to the issue of Infinite Stratos which was "It cannot be used for conventional warfare." Thus the Weyand was developed by Crest, an imperfect but still decent powered armor to use against the forces of the world yet remain an actual weapon in the conventional weapon market. However fate would have other plans for Magi...
Magi was the victim of the DOVE incident, where after a freak IS interfacing managed to do what many Human Plus have failed to do so far: Perfect the OP-Intensify system and inheireit some of the latent traits of IS: The ability to warp in weapons and an energy shielding unit. Meeting the classifications of an IS. Magi's IS is now inducted to the academy and Crest wants to see that he makes them proud

edit: After comparing background s a bit... I'm thinking Ed x Erika wouldn't be bad? Both germans, Erika can defrost Ed who's currently one of the two Ice Kings. Alex always gets half-defrosted by Lyn, but sending in another girl with him would make perhaps an interesting situation. (Of course, coupled with the fact that he supposedly is a covert operative)

Na I'd rather she keep that cute habit of her's for a little while longer XD

I think you have to specify who is it issued to and which units get it, is it a body armor, flak jacket, or tactical armor (only 2 units in military get them). :heh:
At least I didn't get issued with the rattan shield labelled "Property of *ahem*, 1970" during ops. Or else I will throw the shield at the rioters like Captain America.
You misunderstand. Remember you mentioning that the SIR have a basic body armor like in Dead Space? I called those Pangawan Battle Armor, after the favorite word that I keep hearing shouted when we give GOH to a visiting general. I was just checking if the command is spelt correctly... :heh:

Adrenaline actually slows down the painkiller by reducing from the injection site. Ketamine works really well because at low doses it increase pain tolerance tremendously without the same respiratory depression of opiods like morph/oxyco/opium. It is recommended for painkilling in field surgeries for example. It's also a hypnotic however, so too much and she will go unconcious.
If you want a localized injector, adrenaline + lignocaine would suffice. Longer acting ones are -caine relatives, but they have a risk of causing heart attacks if they get absorbed into the central blood supply...
Frankly, I'd go with just "M-fiber neuromodulator" that is built into the IS. That system deactivates M-fibers coming from the injured site with the use of the IS Field, safely and effectively killing pain without all the problems that come with pharmacology.
And yes, I'm a Trekker. :p

I can't think of any. The modular nature of Starwright suggests that at least one pack should have extended range attack.

I was hoping that everyone, save Ed and Al, used non-personals. I myself am updating Merlion Imouto to fit the definitions of being MP, but I believe that MPIS not necessarily straight out lose to Personals. As there's limited cores, so technically, every IS is 'personal', just to an organization/country rather than a person. These are people with DEEP POCKETS, and will logically spend enough on their units to make them incredible, rather thank just treat them as fodder.
They are already approved and incorporated into the timeline. Just keep writing from your side and when I've developed things up on my side we can collaborate. :D
They must have 'One Wing Angel' as their theme. :uhoh:

That helps a lot. :D
Rachel and Saji are being introduced soon on the airstrip, then we'll get to homeroom with the class there. I've understood that Saintess has the numbers flipped around by accident, so Rachel's actually with us in 1-2. :heh:
Alex and Ed go to different classes, and they will appear later as stated.
Magi would probably be the 'shadow in the corner' character.
Mei and Kazuki can come in when Saji and Karon hold joint exercises with the US teams. I have an arc planned where the graduates of the ISA come back and do what I call a "service rotation". It involves a short teaching stint at the Academy, so Sherry, Marina and Hokusui (from the Singapore Lions) will appear there, along with Mei as well. Saji and Kazuki may meet earlier, as Saji attends IS symposiums which I believe Kazuki too.
This is how I see everything fit together. The real question marks are the One Winged Angels... :uhoh:
:nod:
I'd modify your profile slightly to say that Osiris is a national mass-production unit rather than a Personal IS, just to not dilute Rin being the only person in Class 1-2 with a personal unit. Apart from that, I'd use her profile more or less wholesale. If you don't want a storage form that is even better; Most of the characters I'm churning out store their IS units in a hangar, and Karon relies on either boarding the unit beforehand or Saji remotely flying the unit to her. (Need to update her profile as I recently only learnt of that difference)
As a side note, I don't see why a properly-upgraded MPIS from the latest generation cannot give a personal a reasonable challenge in terms of power. (maybe I'm influenced by my own fanon's take on the whole personal vs MP schtick)
~~~New Intelligence Data Updated~~~
Now that IS: Shooting Star has an OP, we shall have the ED!
You are my only Shooting Star...!
The singing is instead done by all our OCs instead of 9nine. :D
I'll even do a LOL version with the 5 guys (counting Charles for lol) acting cute once I have the chance. XD XD XD
I'll take you word for it Babylon. :)
So another edit is apparent. I turned Osirus into a souped-up MPIS model, lacking a storage form.
It is Kawalan Kommandant - <insert regular command> for the GOH.
I would rather you use English names when in doubt. After all, SAF mixes their commands in both English and Malay.
Adrenaline actually slows down the painkiller by reducing from the injection site. Ketamine works really well because at low doses it increase pain tolerance tremendously without the same respiratory depression of opiods like morph/oxyco/opium. It is recommended for painkilling in field surgeries for example. It's also a hypnotic however, so too much and she will go unconcious.
If you want a localized injector, adrenaline + lignocaine would suffice. Longer acting ones are -caine relatives, but they have a risk of causing heart attacks if they get absorbed into the central blood supply...
Frankly, I'd go with just "M-fiber neuromodulator" that is built into the IS. That system deactivates M-fibers coming from the injured site with the use of the IS Field, safely and effectively killing pain without all the problems that come with pharmacology.
I don't think the M-fiber is a good idea. Anything that directly messes with the neuro-system, in the long term, can cause disability.
How long does the adrenaline-lignocaine solution last? Maybe an ampoule of 10ml?
I can't think of any. The modular nature of Starwright suggests that at least one pack should have extended range attack.
Diana is the long-range/sniper module. The MG, by right, is supposed to be useless since we have AIS rounds for the MEISTER, but having a small girl holding a big gun equates to more badassery.
Unless Karon doesn't mind ditching her 1st-gen MEISTER for the Ultima-H.
I'd half the time the title has, and cut out the long guitar solo at the end to go straight into the musical crashes, and we'll have something about 1:35 long. :D
2-minutes for an OP is ok. There should be a way to remix and cut that song.
Maybe lose the zettai ryouki? And for kuuderes, they usually have a straight, slightly smiling expression. That might help.
Still, damn you guys all can do some kind of digital artwork. I can do NONE. :bow:
The zettai-ryouiki is there to stay. Having such high socks gives her the image of being hardworking (constantly pulling up her socks).
I think that design should be no problem since kuuderes are simply a subtrope of tsundere. I was subconsciously following the tsurime-tarime eye outlines and it achieved what I wanted her to be : prideful, strong-willed and stubborn.
- Rachael Brown (US Instructor)
- Lau Mey Ling (At some other place other than ISA)
- Asano Kazuki (Same problem as his childhood friend)
- Magi (Still elaborating on his origins so that he doesn't seem to drop out of a "camouflaged" dimensional hole)
Rachael has been at the school about two and a half years at the start of the series. She spent like half a year assisting another teacher before getting her own class two years ago. This is thus her third class at the school so far, I have two other OCs planned one another teacher (about a year and half exp) and one a student, but she comes in later probably post Ep 6.
Also I see we now have at least two other US OCs so I was thinking I might as well present some of my own ideas about the US IS scene for them to comment on.
Spoiler for US IS Program:
The US got in very close to the ground floor of IS development being one of the first foreign nations to get cores after Japan. Its existing military and political relations with that nation assured this and also assured continued close collaboration between the programs of both nations. Still while there was much cooperation there was also some disagreement, the US in particular was not in favor of the distribution ultimately agreed upon in treaties. It personally favored more or less hording IS cores for “democratic” states. It was particularly at odds with China and Russia over this issue and tension in the IS world between them remain high.
Though it didn’t get its way on distribution of cores it nonetheless did enjoy a significantly more advanced IS program then at least the later. The US had money, plenty of technical expertise, and as noted a close relationship with Japan the country of origin. It also saw a chance to get in at the ground floor of a new industry and considerable money was invested into R&D. In the US the IS was regarded more or less from the start as a weapon and most research and devolvement was put under military control. DARPA formed a division whose sole purpose was development of IS and funding was liberal to say the least.
The US lavished more money on its militaries IS programs then most of Europe combined. It was determined to take the lead in the field and dominate it just as it had Naval and Air warfare in the past. It also used almost all its allocated cores in these military programs and gave almost none to corporations. Since corporations were the ones most interested in various sporting events and more outlandish experiments with IS this meant the US tended to lag in that area. Despite its size and the above noted spending US competitors rarely place highly in international events and most of its units are regarded as solid and well rounded, but not overly innovative.
This suits the US fine as they’re focused more on enabling mass production then producing one off super units to win sporting events. Rumors persist that Area 51 is now almost completely dedicated to attempting to produce new IS cores, but progress if any on this is of course massively classified. For the moment though the US enjoys a fairly commanding market share in military IS used by most smaller nations. It’s designs tending to be readily available, maintainable, and balanced if not outstanding performers.
The US also actively cultivates this by often deploying units and technical teams aboard for cross training with other powers. Indeed a number of current IS programs in smaller nations were effectively started with US aid, and unsurprisingly mostly utilize US produced IS. Feeding into this most US IS pilots are in the military or under military control. Those that attend the IS academy are nominal exceptions due to technically being under no allegiance while attending, but the expectation of military service following graduation is fairly implicit in selection, which is done mostly from military schools...
If you meant how do I post google docs... Just google google docs (doh) and hit "create new". Better have a Gmail account I think to do that.
NOT SURE WHERE TO PUT
- Rachael Brown (US Instructor)
- Lau Mey Ling (At some other place other than ISA)
- Asano Kazuki (Same problem as his childhood friend)
- Magi (Still elaborating on his origins so that he doesn't seem to drop out of a "camouflaged" dimensional hole)
Ah sorry that.
They're actually placed in an old US military installation in Japan , which was turned to an IS academy.
I was actually considering the installation in Okinawa, but opted for the Misawa installation in the end.
Though I did described it in detail in my fanfic which I posted earlier.
So you could say they're in the canonverse, just not in the ISA (which lets me make as little ripples as possible in my fic) :)
She looks incredibly tsundere, instead of the kuudere I made her to be...and I am still having problems trying to draw her side view.
Looks tsundere indeed, especialy with the one eye closed while blushing. But she's damn cute, if I may say so. :heh:
And yeah... she does look kinda Yamato Nadesico... Sweet Gentle, etc... Off course, as you specified, over the top energy kinda makes her different.
Oops, sorry mispelled that one. Thanks for pointing it out. Yeah, I wanted to write Ichika. :heh:
Ah that's what you mean. Sorry, when I read Yamato Nadeshiko I think immediately of personality and not looks. :heh:
Certainly not Yui, but I think she is a little to young and diabolic for the job. I imagin her more like she voiced Oomura Yuki in Kobato.
And this does not answer my initial question. :eyebrow:
It is Kawalan Kommandant - <insert regular command> for the GOH.
I would rather you use English names when in doubt. After all, SAF mixes their commands in both English and Malay.
Well, Kawalan was the word I was looking for though. I felt that an English name didn't feel local enough, or else I would have opted for Centurion.
How long does the adrenaline-lignocaine solution last? Maybe an ampoule of 10ml?
Not very long, about 30 mins and affecting skin and only some tissues underneath it. It can't annul say a bullet wound or a sword stab.
Heh... About messing with the neurology, I'd say that's easily handled by the IS Field. What I'm doing is handwaving it off, because nothing in modern science can kill pain like ketamine can.
Unless Karon doesn't mind ditching her 1st-gen MEISTER for the Ultima-H.
That SBO weapon appears on the roster, but it gets ditched the moment GATTAI happens as its in the way (like the missiles on the Impulse Gundam's core fighter XD).
Ah heck it, lets just go STRIKE WITCHES and lug around MGs while in school uniform as though they are assault rifles. IS-STRENGTH HO!! :D:D:D
Okay then I'll use the version that comes with the No Fate! game.
I think that design should be no problem since kuuderes are simply a subtrope of tsundere. I was subconsciously following the tsurime-tarime eye outlines and it achieved what I wanted her to be : prideful, strong-willed and stubborn.
...I think I know what's going on, but translation please. :heh:
Rachael has been at the school about two and a half years at the start of the series. She spent like half a year assisting another teacher before getting her own class two years ago. This is thus her third class at the school so far, I have two other OCs planned one another teacher (about a year and half exp) and one a student, but she comes in later probably post Ep 6.
Oh in case it isn't clear to everyone else (it was mostly a discussion between Tk and me after all), Rachael Browning plays the role of Chifuyu for Class 1-2 (ie homeroom teacher iirc) while Saji is in Yamada's shoes (teacher's assistant).
I'll keep those in mind. Guess we'll stick it to cameos. :D
Also I see we now have at least two other US OCs so I was thinking I might as well present some of my own ideas about the US IS scene for them to comment on.
Spoiler for US IS Program:
The US got in very close to the ground floor of IS development being one of the first foreign nations to get cores after Japan. Its existing military and political relations with that nation assured this and also assured continued close collaboration between the programs of both nations. Still while there was much cooperation there was also some disagreement, the US in particular was not in favor of the distribution ultimately agreed upon in treaties. It personally favored more or less hording IS cores for “democratic” states. It was particularly at odds with China and Russia over this issue and tension in the IS world between them remain high.
Though it didn’t get its way on distribution of cores it nonetheless did enjoy a significantly more advanced IS program then at least the later. The US had money, plenty of technical expertise, and as noted a close relationship with Japan the country of origin. It also saw a chance to get in at the ground floor of a new industry and considerable money was invested into R&D. In the US the IS was regarded more or less from the start as a weapon and most research and devolvement was put under military control. DARPA formed a division whose sole purpose was development of IS and funding was liberal to say the least.
The US lavished more money on its militaries IS programs then most of Europe combined. It was determined to take the lead in the field and dominate it just as it had Naval and Air warfare in the past. It also used almost all its allocated cores in these military programs and gave almost none to corporations. Since corporations were the ones most interested in various sporting events and more outlandish experiments with IS this meant the US tended to lag in that area. Despite its size and the above noted spending US competitors rarely place highly in international events and most of its units are regarded as solid and well rounded, but not overly innovate.
This suits the US fine as they’re focused more on enabling mass production then producing one off super units to win sporting events. Rumors persist that Area 51 is now almost completely dedicated to attempting to produce new IS cores, but progress if any on this is of course massively classified. For the moment though the US enjoys a fairly commanding market share in military IS used by most smaller nations. It’s designs tending to be readily available, maintainable, and balanced if not outstanding performers.
The US also actively cultivates this by often deploying units and technical teams aboard for cross training with other powers. Indeed a number of current IS programs in smaller nations were effectively started with US aid, and unsurprisingly mostly utilize US produced IS. Feeding into this most US IS pilots are in the military or under military control. Those that attend the IS academy are nominal exception due to technically being under no allegiance while attending, but the expectation of military service following graduation is fairly implicit in selection, which is done mostly from military schools...
I shall follow suit, just to hammer the kinks out of my points which would be raised in my next short:
Spoiler for ASEAN Foundation and Infinite Stratos:
When IS was first revealed to the world, the novels mentioned that it was scoffed at. At that time, the ASEAN Foundation was a fast rising collective in R&D, and was eager to learn whatever there was to learn about the IS frame, which would directly benefit its fledgling space program.
Then the White Knight incident happened. As stated in my profile, Singapore took a gamble and convinced her fellow members within the Foundation of Asia-Pacific islands to stand with Japan when it seemed like the whole world (actually, just the Security Council) was out to get her little toy. That was the start of a new business relationship with the Japanese.
Fast forward 6 years. It has been almost a decade since IS was first revealed. 10 years of research and coping with limited resources, plus a rise of internal strife has impacted the Foundation's, and Singapore's, IS program.
To maximize the sheer imbalance of pilots to cores, more IS cores were made as mass-production models than personal models. Indeed, it is rare to find 2nd or 3rd gen personal models from the Foundation. This created much demand for improving the MPIS, and indeed much of the entire regions' efforts have been churning out upgrades and patches that avoided the problem of Equalizers and core-vs-upgrade rejection. Also, much of the settings were carried over from one person to the next, not to mention all of them linked to the supercomputer grid running throughout the Foundation. This facilitated the fast maturation of the nascent intelligences within the cores, which also boosted performance. Lastly, most of the IS was held by government-linked companies, a little habit of ASEAN states, meaning that while corporations held ownership of the cores, it was the central command which called the shots, allowing for focused allocation and efficient use of resources.
The Foundation initially stuck to the wording of the Alaska Treaty, and threw much of its resources into Civilian Stratos (CVS). Unarmed IS with all of their BUS slots dedicated to anything ranging from construction to agriculture to computer blocks to even surgeries and medical emergencies mushroomed as universities took advantage of the grants and cores. The much needed injection to infrastructure created a long-overdue economic boom for the Foundation. CVS were immune to being retired by generation; 1st gens were very often converted to such machines if they were not upgraded to the next generation. Rafales of any generation were favored as their modular nature and large BUS capacities granted them practically infinite configurations. Selling upgrades meant that the region could make money from other countries' IS cores, and that made the Foundation very very rich.
Another kind of IS was the Armored Stratos. These were power lifters equipped with home-grown Yggdra Engines and Batteries meant for lugging equipment and personel into space. They soon found application in many civilian and military facilties. More spacecraft than humanoid, relatively slow and steady to stock IS, and yet armed and shielded enough to defend themselves against pirates and opportunists alike, ASEAN AS were the Foundation's proud symbol of progress and prosperity.
However, there was always the threat of being caught defenseless. Constrained by the Alaska Treaty, the Foundation created the [GLADIATORS] project. IS produced under this project were designated Gladiator Stratos (GS) to avoid sending the message that the Foundation was building warfighting Stratos. The IS-League was also started, and these new GS were mixed in with civilian and armored stratos, battling in league matches 'for entertainment purposes'. Information gleaned from these battles were used in the top-secret peace-keeping task force, [Shooting Star].
Introduction of the IS league also drove the later generations of CVS and AS designs to devote some spare BUS slots to weaponry, ensuring that the Foundation, while openly wearing a diplomatic smile, had a big enough stick behind her back to make would-be agressors think twice of bothering her.
Meanwhile, Malaysia, no longer a part of the ASEAN foundation celebrated on their first diesel engined aircraft carrier. :joke:
Sorry, I just couldn't imagine my country actually up to date with their military tech. :D
The last 'upgrade' we got to our arsenal was our one (and only) diesel engine submarine. :upset:
No worries; Saintess initiated the idea that global warming has happened, so while Singapore is underwater, it also washed all the dumb leadership in Malaya away, and so Malaya is part of the Foundation and has never looked back.
Enjoy your free Tunku-type Armored Stratos. :D
Aaah... I was talking about voice range.
I was thinking if she'd stand up to a rather arrogant 2nd year senior armed with a personal IS who is telling off a 1st year for bumping into her. That earns her some of that senior's wrath for being told by the weak.
The lack of power of the 2 training IS users attracts Karon to step in, and when the senior gets violent:
Spoiler for Sneak peak:
She stopped my partial summon with her bare hand?! the Russian's eyes went wide. No, an IS Field?!
Karon had another surprise in store, as she looked into those stunned orbs and sneered, "You need to cool your head."
It is to set up a duel (and friendship through firepower) for later. :uhoh:
It's kinda impossible for Malaysia(also my country) to get an IS...seriously
They just don't think women is that worthy enough to pilot such powerful weapon...
