5, if you count Rise as the 'permanent' member of the party.

Well technically you can only bring 3 since you're also a 'permanent' member... So that leaves a choice of 3 out of 6...

Yukiko's usually the healer, but energy shower did seemed to fit better for this instance than something from the dia series.

Don't quite agree with that explanation, forgive me for being so nitpicky. :D

The fool arcana is just like any of the other Arcanas where a set personality/family of personas are associated with it, or as you described, the theme of infinite potential because associated with it. The reason why you get it first in both P3 and P4 is because its associated with the respective groups, P3's SEES and P4's Investigation team.

Now, the real reason why Yuu and Minato could both use multiple personas is because they both had the power of the wild card. This is the main thing that links them to the velvet room as well (Arguably, if we're basing this reasoning on P1 and P2, it could be that their association with the velvet room is what actually gives them the ability to use multiple personas). Why do they have this power? I'd be spoiling both game's respective endings if I told you. :p

Not necessarily, because Kimidori is right: in Tarot reading the Fool represents the beginning of a story when a literal "fool" steps out of his confines to start his journey into an unknown world. The Fool being assigned to SEES and the Investigation Team isn't merely because Fool is the 0, but because each Arcana carries a different meaning, tells a different stage of the journey and a different lesson for the MC to learn. SEES and the IT are the beginnings of each MCs tale, and each Arcana represents a different life stage for his journey according to what each face card represents.

Not saying he's wrong there, his description of the stage in life represented by the Fool card and its associated theme of 0 ain't wrong. I'm just saying, it's not the real reason why they could both use multiple personas.

Edit: Plus, the key reasons for their powers comes from very central (And highly spoilerific) plot points.

Well on that note, the way they get their powers is intrinsically different, which is why it is said that P3 MC is a much more godly powerful character than Yuu.

Anyway this is OT now...

Yes, I quite agree. We're straying further from the anime :heh: (at this point in time, anyway )

Episode 18 was fantastic. Even though I watched it raw I can't stop feeling sad and the bgm doesn't help :( really sad event and a good episode..... ah it's raining today >.<

Next episode is school festival and the ones who played the game will know what the hell that means :D from a tear jerking episode to lolz moments.

DingoEnderZOE2 2012-02-09 17:20

The artwork seems to have improved quite a bit in episode 18.

jeroz 2012-02-10 05:40

Nanako......TT^TT

Meltyred 2012-02-10 12:36

Spoiler for Spoiler for episode 19:

Hmm, we are already at episode 18, the end is near....

wandering-dreamer 2012-02-10 19:19

Funny enough I thought the art was really off in 18, every shot of Yuu looked different and his eyes always looked noticably different from each other in the close-ups.

Spoiler for as for the episode itself:

While it didn't show it, Yu should have obtained the Hierophant and Justice arcana at the end of this week's episode, as it was pretty much solely dedicated to Dojima and Nanako's social links.

I was under the impression they'd start the next story arc from last week's preview, but I guess this episode serves as good build-up toward it.

Next week is the school festival. Expect large amounts of crazy hijinks, especially with this version of Yu. It'll probably be the last comedy episode for the series though.

ars89 2012-02-10 22:26

Wow never knew Dojima was such a jerk. At least Yu helped him fix his mistakes.

For sure they have so much stuff to go through still that I thought we wouldn't get another comedy episode again

The Bloodlust Kid 2012-02-11 02:31

Is there any arcana that's missing besides Margaret?

Would love to see social links for Yu's friends get some closure, but that's going to be a problem with only 6 episodes remaining...four of them probably being part of the finale.

DingoEnderZOE2 2012-02-11 02:37

Really really wishing this anime had it's own sub forums here. It's starting to feel overwhelming here to see that this has already hit it's 103rd page.

Considering that the anime is already over 2/3 of its length, I don't think this will happen.

The only Arcana that Yu has yet to obtain now are Empress (Margaret), Sun (Yumi/Ayane) and Judgement.

I imagine next week he'll obtain Sun since in the anime's case it's really the only opportunity left for him to do so, because in the game very shortly after the school festival ends there's an onslaught of plot-related events until the end of the game. So episodes 20 through 25 will most likely be used for the climax and resolution.

Oh, and I'll just confirm now that The World arcana is not a social link in Persona 4, so you can disregard that one.

Jazzrat 2012-02-11 07:19

Unless they plan to animate other SMT and Persona games, i doubt we ll need a subforum for a 2 cour series.

Although, i really don't mind seeing Devil Survivor or Digital Devil Saga in anime form ^.^
