Minori doesn't strike me as the kind of character who would obsess over things like that. Not to mention that going too far with making her emo would kill her position as the series's go-to for genki comedic relief.

I can actually imagine the classic denouement scene from Kimikiss retold: Spoiler for indirect kimikiss spoiler:

This episode shows once again that Ami is the best character in the series. Not only is she the most perceptive, she's also the most honest with her feelings. It's ironic since she's the one with the false facade. But while everyone else is in denial or just too dense to understand their own feelings she's not afraid to throw it out there.
And she was completely right when she said he would never "hit" Minori(like he was doing when he was slapping Ami's forearm for lying to him) because they're not equals. He would never do that to Taiga, either. Ami is the only one he treats as an equal and the only one he actually feels comfortable being himself around. Minori is someone he worships and Taiga is an injured bad-tempered puppy he takes care of. |

Unlike Ami or Taiga who have shown their true nature to Ryuuji and he has been able to cope with it. With Ami he's a bit more honest considering how he treats her like a regular friend. They tease each other and get equally punished but there's still a lot of respect there. Taiga brings out his nurturing side though since he can't help not helping Taiga with food, shelter and cleanliness. So what Minori could bring out in Ryuuji is something we really don't know. Will we ever know? |

I have a feeling we're all gonna be a bit surprised with Minorin, yet.
And I'm not saying this as a veteran novel-reader, as I can't read japanese and I don't really like being spoiled about something of this nature (hence, I'm following Baka-Tsuki's translations, which are mostly up to where the anime is, right now). Just a gut feeling, I guess. |

OH!!! That would be funny if Taiga becomes a dere towards Ryuuji suddenly, and Ryuuji just didnt know what to do. :D |
I doubt Taiga will change her behavior towards Ryuuji any time soon. At least not until she figures out her own feelings for him.

Not like it's going to harm anyone in this case, but i will be really mad if someone put up spoilers of what will happen in Higurashi Kai here(watching it even when it finished for ages) :p |
yeah... that's the hairy part about spoilers -- "compare and contrast" is a basic tool of literary analysis; but we'd like to avoid giving away plot points of even fairly old series unnecessarily.
conundrum. |
Yep - I got whacked for doing it. Without thinking, I compared to a series that was out 3 years ago. So from now on all comparisons to other series I will just put a spoiler tag around it.

Ami is a particularly deep character; although shes the little wayward bitch, shes brutally blunt, and is never in conflict with herself. I have never been a fan of her, but shes showing more and more wisdom by the moment, especially in Ep10
Spoiler for Ami:
|
Well, she is certainly more smart about these things than the average person her age, but that by no means makes her wise.
|
She's no Confucius, but I'm saying that she is definitely more aware of the situation than any of her classmates.

I just saw this episode (necromancy on this thread).
As someone who usually loves tsundere characters, I tend to like Ami far more than Taiga. I have a feeling she's going to be the tragic heroine in this series... |
I'll just say it gets complicated :) .. but its a pretty good story all the way.

If you're still on Ep 10 just wait and see, you'll see more Ami-chan goodness xD! |

Actually i usually tend to dislike "Alpha Bitch" characters but Ami is just so hammy and entertaining to watch, plus she's also a true bro and an ended up showing very endearing traits xD
I hope more characters like her(mean yet secretly good girls) appear more often in anime xD |
