Miyata - Ippo rivalry will make Ricardo look like a nothing, and that is the worst you can expect from this story. The way the story goes, it feels like Miyata will get the belt from Ricardo, and meet with Ippo the challenger.

Miyata could win against RBJ because to the plot... but against Ippo, the plot is against him. Ippo had a lame fight against Geddo, now it's turn to an epic battle.

Well, before that fight, another fight for Ippo must come up first. Wonder if he will received any other boost.

But really, with this come back of Miyata, no come back is impossible in Hajime no Ippo anymore.

my bet is that miyata vs ippo is never gonna happen. miyata have to go upper weightclass soon and then its over for those two :)

This whole manga is constructed around that promise.

Ippo vs. Miyata fight will be executed exactly like the Apollo Creed vs. Rocky fight in Rocky 3. Ippo and Miyata will throw punches at each other and when you turn the page Eye of the Tiger starts playing through one of those greeting card type speakers.

I wouldn't count on that. The strange thing is that Japan and the rest of the world tend to have very different tastes in characters. A character hated elsewhere (like Hinamori in Bleach, ugh) can be pretty popular in Japan, and vice-versa. Miyata ranks really highly in the Ippo polls every time. I don't think he's ever been out of the top 5. Maybe as we sit here complaining, there are people crying over their copies of Shounen Magazine thinking "Best. Fight. EVER!" :p

^^TBH i don't mind because Miyata's fight are not that great but, Taka and Ippo's fights are fun to read and have some unexepected things.

Miyata pulls/relies to miracle punches to win recently. But I forgive that. I hope he doesn't do that against Ippo... Miyata, improve yourself....

Im just starting to read this manga and found this epic line at chapter 40... Ippo and some of the guys from the gym go to the beach and they just started running alongside the coastline but Ippo cant keep up with them.... until he finally figures it out !

Epic line: ".... so they are dashing from ass to ass.. awasome pervert power... "

ahh... well... this is a Shonen Sports manga... so the author will be teasing on that subject for years.
