....those were some pissed off NEETs.
And I thought they were all shipped to Dubai.

Spicy episode though.

konart 2009-06-11 18:09

What happened in the end?

Raiga 2009-06-11 18:59

WAITASEC WAS THAT JUIZ WAIT HUH?

Did I get it wrong or didn't they say that the fancy glowy red banks of lights were Juiz (i.e. she's an AI)? And I'm assuming number XII just screwed I, X, and the other dude (II, was he?) over, but I dunno how. :\

Also, mass of angry naked NEETs with angry clouds around their nether regions. I couldn't help but lol.

Cannot wait for subs...

Spoiler:

I haven't seen either a Chinese or an English sub yet, but as I heard it, they told Akira that he erased his own memory because he had been "betrayed" by both the people he had rescued and by his friends. Saki was crying because she felt she had betrayed him, too, by herself having felt disappointed that Careless Monday wasn't more extreme than it turned out to be, feeling it as a sign of something wonderful about to happen.

At the end, the phone records said that #12 (whom #1 had no idea existed) had paid for Juiz to be taken to a secret location. This would prevent #1 and #10 following through with their missile plans, perhaps. And I think Akira was riding back to Tokyo on a train of containers -- perhaps containing more returning NEETs? I noted the computer left open in Akira's flat, perhaps so that the NEETs can find out the truth?

Oh yeah, the title of this episode... "Who killed Takizawa Akira?" What was that about?

i can't believe that all the people that came with Juiz identity were right.

Seems like the Eden group has linked Takizawa with the wrong number (#10). That can't be good. Too bad they didn't take the laptop with them. Those guys off the boat look like they're out for blood rather than answers. Maybe it'll survive any possible carnage that comes afterwards.

Raiga 2009-06-11 22:37

Silly people. NEETs wouldn't harm a laptop. =)

I guess you're right. First time they see it they'll probably genuflect then proceed to kick each other's asses over who gets to use it first:p.

It's more like: Who killed a man who is now called "Takizawa Akira"? Means, who broke his heart enough to make him erase his own memory? The rather vague but poisonous answer from Mononobe is because he was betrayed by whom he helped and his friends.

Now Saki's position becomes clearer (or should I say unclearer?). It turns out Saki knows more than Akira and the audiences thought she knew. Also, she is sensitive enough to realize, in depth, she agreed the hawkish group lead by Mononobe, who are willing to "downsize" the population, and feel guilt.

Now I, again, feel "Akira" is rather similar to Kuze, even loner without someone like Motoko. Different from Ghost in the Shell, where the setting is near-future Japan, or Sci-Fi, Eden of the East, can exploit realism and mix imagination and the reality, resulting some interesting effects, which might make anime more than just an entertainment. However, I still cannot but think how far the core themes were developed from it. While it is nice to find something identical with Kamiyama's past works, I cannot but feel he is recycling the some essences. However, of course, I guess I should wait for the last episode at least.

YAY for XII, I have been waiting for his/her appearance since eps 2 :( but certainly it was an impressive way to spend your first yen. wtfbbqowned I, II and X lol :D

go XII go

Definitely a heavy informative ep.
That'll need a few re watches methinks but it more or less tossed the last few pieces of the entire puzzle, there's no way this story will end next week.
(*Has a peek at ep 11, sees they're given nothing away this time* :T_T:)
On Saki's note, i've never seen a girl so "Johnny-whipped" in my life. xD
(Then again there must be something amazing in those shiny sparkling sensor bars that kinda bespells girls methinks.
500 dicks, talk about a eye-candy fest?) xD

Akira drops ya and remains on the platform and she still calls him and urges he spill everything to her despite him saying that if he is at fault, she should forget all about him.
(Ever the gentleman until the end)
She then starts spilling desperately what she found out in ep 7 which I guess was enough for him to leave his mobile on for her to listen into.
(Some scenes make me think can a mobile really pick up voices that well given where he was holding the phone at times) -.-
Whatever the ep decided to omit the reason for Akira erasing his memories that got her breaking down, makes me think of episode 1 when he was pointing the gun at her.

Speculations, speculations, grr..
Definitely a Kamiyama signiture this...
I suspect this ep will get pple shooting ideas back and forth for the entire week. :\

And just so you know, there is an actual live preview (the highlights of ep 10 included though) for the final ep of the series, which includes with these words:
Spoiler:

And awww, I just wanted to hug Akira on that final scene, he looked so vunerable... ;_;

^ WOW! If that happens...

Code Geass?

aohige 2009-06-12 14:11

Heh, everyone's so excited about XII, no one has mentioned that one of the biggest secrets was revealed. :heh:

Mr. Outside's identity, and what he was up to.

Raiga 2009-06-12 14:27

I don't think I caught that, gonna need to wait on subs (unless someone is kind enough to say what his identity was here?). All I heard was I think No. I said Mr. Outside was already dead? And his codename was some kind of pun? Related to the neurotech institute place or something...?

aohige 2009-06-12 14:58

Not a code name, but his real name.
Spoiler:

Raiga 2009-06-12 16:14

Ooooh. Cool, thanks for the explanation. ^^

Which is, if what #1 or Mononobe said is right. Also, when Mononobe checked the juiz history of #12, he says, "Is #12 the supporter, no, the outside?" with a surprised look. The most of "information" in this episode is given from the view of Mononobe and it can be misleading as usual. The same goes to what I wrote above. Just a friendly reminder.
