As for the episode
I guess they used up all their strength making the awesome OP and ED. :heh:
The far camera shots suffered a bit in quality. The up-close shots were just as good as usual though.
These current episodes aren't that important anyways. :D

As was said, I don't know what the guys at Madhouse were smoking to come up with this OP, but I want some too :heh:

Can anyone make out what the lyrics of the new OP are? Or a pointer to a site with them?

You know what's funny about the Ending song sang by Maximum the Hormone (the band that sings the OP and ED)?

The music video for that song "Zetsubou Billy" is wicked.
It shows parodies of bunch of other Japanese artists, including Nightmare (the guys who sang the first Death Note Opening),
hip-hop artist DS455, acoustic guitar duo Yuzu, and more.

Then Kira starts jotting them down on the Death Note, killing them all...
Only leaving Maximum the Hormone left :heh:

They're bad, mean, and assholes, but that's part of their metal image.
But it seems they're going overboard when they make video killing of the band singing the first Theme song...
The video is like saying "you're done dmwits, now die. MtH is here to take over biyaaaaaach!".

That new OP is looks so wicked that it's funny. A surprise from Madhouse.

It's like all the characters just took pills and are all out of their minds XD

Sounds like another nutty clip XD

I LOLed the first time I saw the OP. It's just way too trippy and crazy for me to not laugh. Especially the bullets flying by Aizawa in mirror shades, Ryuk chasing and dancing with an apple, and lots of evil-laughter Light heads. XD! I like it lots though, but it really is a surprise. I thought I was watching the wrong thing for a while... like someone's Death Note AMV or something :eyespin:

someone tell me that what i am hearing is wrong, and please post what the real lyrics are... if not i wont be able to watch death note any more... I refuse to subjugate myself to a piece of art that i love but in turn spews hateful words at me and my people.

What i was hearing was "hey you can suck it, you can f**k it."

No way for human ears to tell for sure though.

Not a fan of the opening/ending songs but I have to agree the opening animations are great. A pity I'll be skipping past them next time. (I can't stand the music)

The previous slower part is "Hey Hey! Ningen Sanka Ainige Ningen Fuan ka?"
(Hey Hey! humanity praising, running from love, are you humans insecure?)
I know it's almost impossible to understand or even hear their weird lyrics, such is a nature of new generation metal and pop culture, but jumping to strange conclusions without any concrete evidence is totally out of whack.
Hell, I even read on youtube where a guy who thought they were saying "white people", when what they said was "What's up People!?"
which by the way, happens to be the title of the song.

I guess the lyrics hit it right on the nails. Humans these days ARE insecure.

I really do believe they could have chosen a better song for the OP, video is a work of genius though - and i find that the ED is love all around.

Not gonna lie.......the new opening song doesn't fit death note at all.

The OP music was really terrible. Admist all the metallic music I could hardly hear what they were saying... Still I love the OP graphics ..

As much as i didn't like the music, I think the animation sequence is amazing, and putting my personal taste aside I have reasons to think the music blends well with the theme.
You can tell its full confusing insanity and madness, yet for a DN newbie like me, I think it suits the theme of Death Note as well as the world around it very well. It's a total chaos inside and outside of the war between Light and L.
In fact, isn't it exactly how the real world is right now? I must say its a pretty nice touch.

The "controversial" part goes like:
