Please note that I created the thread a bit early this week, but the episode is still scheduled to air at the normal time. Please only vote on the poll once you've watched the episode.

Enjoyed the episode, im pleased with the faithful adaptation so far
Spoiler for ep 5:

Even when things are serious now, Shana can still be moe as hell \o/

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that Episode 5 has covered about two-third of the content of Novel Volume 17.

Basically, Shana is now imprisoned in Seireiden, devoid of all her power and feeling all alone by herself. Is this how Yuji defines "living together with your loved one"? :uhoh: Yes, I know that such restraint is imposed since she is a Flame Haze in the enemy headquarter, but I am still saddened by the loneliness that Shana has to face, away from Wilhelmina and her friends. :(

It is good thing that Rammie has arrived to see SnF Yuji, as it prevents Yuji's "intimate" moment with Shana from becoming too rough. Guess that SnF Yuji should be more gentle toward Shana, as Shana's strength is now restricted to nothing more than a normal human's strength.

I really do not understand why Shana's capture by Yuji has caused Chigusa to lose all memory of Shana.

Anyway, I am sure we are pleased that J. C. Staff remains faithful in adapting the novel material. That is definitely a plus point of this season. :)

She seems to have some serious trauma from that hand that attacked her.
Spoiler for pic:

I thought all the supporting character talking heads were pretty boring...there's not enough Shana X Yuuji interaction in this season, every episode just feels like a transition.

Kaskodiona 2011-11-04 16:27

Oh Yuji, you naughty little boy >:3

But well, that episode... was enjoyable (VERY MUCH... giggle.). But Yuji, y u hav no deep voice in this ep? ;A;

Senshigeia 2011-11-04 17:35

Well, I watched the episode and I got some of the parts, but since I don't know Japanese my opinion isn't a 100% yet.

Well, last episode was an all-out epic battle scene, with surprising relevation about Silver. So, Episode 5 may seem a bit boring, as it lacks action scene. Anyway, it is how it is written inside the novel and J. C. Staff are just doing their job in faithfully adapting the novel material. Just enjoy each episode as we go along, okay? :)

Spoiler for Intimate Scene:

We could have a caption competition for this awesome picture. :p Thanks to charizardpal, for the picture.

I see your point. As Cosmic Eagle explained, the merge between Yuji and SnF is similar to the transformation of a human into a Flame Haze. There is why the existence of Yuji is erased among normal humans. On the other hand, there is no changes for the contact between Shana and Alastor, other than Shana being imprisoned with all her power restricted.

Anyway, I agree with you that we should wait for subs to get a better understanding.

elleinad00 2011-11-04 20:24

It's gooood~ especially I got to see a very cute Shana(kid) and some of her past...
and Wilhelmina's clothes are all the same.... :heh:

wow I never thought it would be a pin down :twitch: I thought it was just a "simple" grabbing of her arm.

Senshigeia 2011-11-04 20:38

The lil' Shana and Shiro scene was one of the high moments of this episode. :)

elleinad00 2011-11-04 20:41

^ agree!

Hooves 2011-11-04 20:55

By the way, to all: you shouldn't use spoiler tags in an episode thread to discuss that episode -- it defies the whole point of having an episode thread. Only use spoiler tags if you are doing a comparison to (already shown) novel content. It's obvious when you click on an Episode 5 thread that it will be discussing what happens in Episode 5...

Game8910 2011-11-04 21:50

Watched the subs now, the Yuji and Shana confrontation was intense, other than that it was a setup episode but it wasnt bad. The next couple of episodes might be like this until the war gets started.
This show likes to build up and then explode all over the place, it rewards patience but this is why I love it

redflame 2011-11-04 22:13

Good episode, but no action :(

Oh well, at least it was interesting to see Yuji and Shana talking to each other.. I understand a little bit of japanese from watching too much anime, but gosh it would be so nice to know what they're talking about especially when Yuji was pinning her on bed. (Btw, that was unexpected :twitch:)

It's funny how this scene is supposed to be serious and people are taking a joke out of it :heh: and Wilhelmina's wardrobe? :heehee:

I expected this episode to have [mod edit: removed reference to something that hasn't happened yet]

Have to wait till the next episode then :)

Well, my guess is something likes this. Early posters, like us, would have watched the raw version of the episode, as we cannot bear the wait for the subbed version. On the other hand, others may choose to wait for the subbed version, in order to obtain the complete understanding of the episode.

The whole point of using spoiler tags is that we early viewers do not want to spoil those who choose to wait for the subbed version. Only after the subbed versions are readily available, we would stop using the spoiler tags.

relentlessflame, if you wish us to follow your suggestion, we would gladly do so. No spoiler tags will be used, other than when referencing the already shown novel content. :)
