sweet news. After some amagami then this. Great

bakAnki 2012-11-26 11:30

Great news indeed :D Hope this will be omnibus format like Amagami too :D
Wonder which story will they pick, I personally like story H(appy) better than L(ove).

Bummed that the new game will be on Vita though. I really want to play the Love Love Days scenario; story after confession is always nice X3

Nachtwandler 2012-11-26 11:38

I liked both KimiKiss and Amagami so definitely will watch this. But it's quite untypical show for Madhouse

kyouray 2012-11-26 15:39

Finally Akitoshi Yokoyama got a series... but I didn't expect this :heh:
This veteran is such a talented animator (what a coincidence, someone just did a MAD! thanks to AnimeBlue) who animated nice stuff in great series and worked a lot in recent years with Masaaki Yuasa and directed great episodes (his episodes are always worth watching). I looked forward to watching action/'serious' stuff directed by him for Madhouse so I'm kinda disappointed but that can't be helped.
It's not like I hate this kind of series since I really enjoyed Kimikiss and somehow Amagami (it depended on the girl :p ).
However I know he can bring great stuff with this kind of content, I would have been sceptical if I hadn't watched his episode of Idolm@ster (18).

duckroll 2012-11-26 17:48

The question is, can he also write? Because he's handling series composition here as well. Lol.

Nachtwandler 2012-11-26 18:51

duckroll

He can. He worked as episode director, episode scriptwriter and animator before.

Dating sim or not, I think I'd enjoy this series. I saw Amagami, although I confess I was mostly for the shy kohai and the MCs chubby childhood friend-v-, but I gotta say, I really enjoyed it :).

Guardian Enzo 2012-11-26 19:32

Excellent cast, strong director/writer, Madhouse. Don't known the source material, but I'm in.

The cast looks great and loved Amagami(Mainly because Ai, Tsukasa, and Haruka).
A must watch for me. :)

Insane 2012-11-26 21:31

Why does everyone compare this series with Amagami of all titles, i wonder?

Snuffle 2012-11-26 22:08

Beautiful artwork! I look forward to this one. I'm also a fan of Kimi Kiss and Amagami. :D Will have to check out the manga, already took a sneak peak at it. ;)

bakAnki 2012-11-26 22:16

Since the casts are so far same with the original game, you can hear what they sound as their respective character, along with the description and information of the characters (if you can read Japanese :heh:), from the sample voice preview on the official site:

Both Amagami and Photo Kano are adapted from love simulation game published by Enterbrain?

Midonin 2012-11-26 22:50

I think the anime may be the best way for me to experience this. The game's cel-shaded 3D style just doesn't do it for me. 2D girls are much cuter in 2D.

DragoonKain3 2012-11-27 00:06

Hoping it's not omnibus... *crosses fingers*

bakAnki 2012-11-27 05:26

TBS official site for Photo Kano is up. Nothing new though :heh:

Here's a picture of all heroines listed on the cast (except the MC and Ootani Momoko) taken from Photo Kano Pentaprism Memory novel for an idea how they look.

We still have to wait how many episodes this will be.

With many heroines, if it's only one cour then it probably focus on one girl (and most probably Haruka :heh:) with other heroines show up here and there with part of their story taken. But if it's two-cour, then it's possible to have omnibus format.

Then again, Photo Kano has bigger number of total heroines compared to Amagami, so if they want to cover the secret heroines too, each heroine will probably only have 3 episodes.

Again, why on earth majority of harem anime nowadays tend to get voiced by newbie (non-popular male seiyuu), while his harem consist of senior female seiyuus?

bakAnki 2012-11-27 07:35

Nylon, the mangaka of Photo Kano Your Eyes Only posted the congratulation art work for the anime adaptation on Twitter and Pixiv :3

Isn't it obvious enough? Harem anime is targeted for male viewers so it's only logical to budget money for popular female seiyuus to attract the target audience better, since only few cares about the male lead except he's really stand out/different than typical harem lead :heh:

Guardian Enzo 2012-11-27 09:13

Actually, the seiyuu cast as the male lead here is not only born within a decade of the year his character is supposed to be, but he's been excellent in his few roles so far. Any series that doesn't recycle the same half-dozen 30 or 40-something seiyuu who sound increasingly silly playing teenagers like almost every other series does has a step up in my book.
