Spoiler for Novel 1, Chapter 5 (END):

Spoiler for Novel 8, Chapter 1:

-----------11/18 (Old part of post)
First chapter of the first novel now summarized!

It differs a bit from the anime, and there were a few things (somewhat important) that the anime never put in.

Parting comment for now: I'm beginning to dislike Mikihiko and Ryouko. :upset:

Next chapter- "Sandbag Ninomiya-kun"

haha they're in the same league as genma from ranma 1/2..
the guy freakin sold his son for food:heh:

well you shouldn't take them seriously as they did it for comedic purpose anyway

Chapter 2 has been summarized.
(Kind of feel pathetic that this is all I can do. But translation would take 10x+ longer than a summary and take up 43x+ more space than a summary...)

Chapter 2 was pretty much really different from the anime, though the anime used some parts of the novel while shortening it.

This chapter features:

Spoiler for not a spoiler if you are watching the anime:

Though once again, these were used in a different way.

The main thing that's good about the anime over the novel is that the anime doesn't go into overly long drawn-out thoughts and descriptions which are a pain and bore to read.
Though the novel has more material, like
Spoiler for something the anime hasn't touched on, but probably never will and doesn't seem to care:

Parting comment: Poor Shungo. :(

Next time - That's Bad, Ninomiya-kun

(Thankfully, it's 40 pages less than this chapter...)

well from what I get Mayu and Shungo share a room and bed. So that would be 1 less room.

kagato3 2007-11-28 15:43

Maybe, as I said there are at least 7 bedrooms in the house and thats only takeing in to acount on what the current sleeping arangments are.

serenade_beta 2007-12-02 06:37

Chapter 3 is done~~

The beginning and middle were rather boring, though the whole Mayu/Shungo conversation at the end (not existing in the anime, of course) made up for it, greatly so.

Until...

Ryouko and Mikihiko's scene afterwards... GAHHHHHHHHH! That's annyoing. DO-THEY-HAVE-TO-BE-MEDDLESOME?!! :frustrated:
I GET IT! IT'S INTERESTING! NOW LEAVE THOSE TWO ALONE!!

Next time - Show Your Manliness, Ninomiya-kun

And I hope Ryouko and Mikihiko stay out of everything.

I look forward to more translations from you, seeing as the anime will end soon and I doubt it'll tie all the loose ends and whatnot.

kagato3 2007-12-15 09:58

question is what is happening in the anime for ep 11+ based on the novels or is it just made for it to rap up the plot?

Sterling01 2007-12-15 15:07

It's made up. The novels have a Beatrice look a like and Shungo gets kidnaped in Kyouto

serenade_beta 2007-12-22 01:10

Chapters 4 and 5 are done.

Overall, it wasn't too bad, except for the older siblings.

-Mikihiko was almost amazing during his speech at the beginning of chapter 4. For once, he wasn't a buffoon.

-A completely different way to how Reika gets blackmailed into a maid than the anime (a better way too)

-Reika was much more of a egomaniac in the novel... -_-

-Just like the last episode, a "Mitsuru vs. Shungo with Mayu bothering" except the novel Mayu proves to be smarter than the anime version-She doesn't decide to become a punching bag.

-It's kind of amazing. Just how many episodes did the anime take to slowly reveal the relationship between Mayu and Shungo? The novel did it in 1 novel, and at that, less than 5 pages! Of course, specific details are not revealed yet(I'm not going to trust the anime on this).

-It's good that the novel doesn't ignore the fact that Reika has parents (unlike the anime), no matter how sad they are...

-Let me say it again... Ryouko Ninomiya and Mikihiko Tsukimura are damn sadistic bastards that would ruin anyone's freakin' life just for their own pleasure. It's a shame the author decides to make them that way, because the enjoyment value of the novel dives downwards whenever they open their damn mouths. :frustrated::frustrated::frustrated:

*cough* Anyways,

Moved the summaries to the next post because there is a "word limit" to a post...
Added one term to the BIG spoiler tag, just for a note

Next volume will have "Dark Reika." お楽しみ...

Wow, the anime really diverged from the novels.

Matt122005 2009-02-23 02:20

Yea, it did diverge in alot of ways.

I actually have the raws of this series, and I'm trying to find a translator to help get the project started on Baka-Tsuki. This is deffinitly one of the series I'm really interested in reading. ^_^

But something most people don't know, is that "the_naming_game" on Baka-Tsuki actually translated the prologue and a bit of chapter one a while back.

Here it is, for your reading pleasure. You're welcome. ^_^

Spoiler for Prologue of Book 1:

Here's the little but of Chapter 1.
Spoiler for Little Bit of Chapter 1 of Book 1:

I think so. The LN is still running, but it seems that there are only short stories left. The main plot was like, 10 volumes.
