Like Mentar in the thread for last episode, I too have been disappointed for the last time. Well guys, time to lose hope over the lack of a real storyline developing. :(

I'm thinking if there ever will be a second season, it'll have to be a late night airing in order to have any semblance of a storyline happening.

As for this week's episode, business as usual. Which is good, but not what I'm waiting for. Mobile power line poles FTW. Not to mention Denko-chan LOL.:)

殴ったね!親父にもぶたれたこと・・・ :D

First post, 8 hours before airing of the next episode. :p

IMHO it would be absolutely ridiculous and disappointing if Hayate does not get a second season. having read the manga, it is utter injustice if they leave the best parts untouched. the series is pretty popular in Japan though, and there is a lot of -good- manga material to cover, so in a positive perspective, the fillers would make sense, as to save the best for later.

fingers are crossed for a second season... hoping and will always be hoping ^_^

Any idea whether the material in question is a complete arc? Maybe they'll only do complete story arcs, considering how much anime went to hell over filler.

Not asking for manga spoilers, but just a simple yes or no? :)

I'm not sure what parts frustra is referring to, but there is an arc starting at volume 8 and ending at the start of volume 10 which quite a lot of people and myself are dying to see animated. There's also a couple other completed arcs that fall into the "I'd so like to see that animated" category.

So, yes.:(

Yeah, being the hardcore Hina fan that I know frustra to be. I think he means a very extended Hina gift-giving arc that spanned Volumes 8,9, and 10. I think we can all see now that that part simply isn't going to happen, at least not this season.

Thank you. Now my fingers are crossed too. :D

yep, I was referring to that arc :D

Seems like another School Rumble-esque episode with no real solution or progress. More really old references though.

As stated above and up to 4 days ago, we want the huge Hinata arc eventually. :P

Midonin 2008-02-27 20:38

46 gets +5 points for referencing Ryukendo

DragoonKain3 2008-02-27 21:57

Actually like this for Sailor Suit and Machine Gun, The Girl who leapt through Time, and the other drama I forgot its name (the one with 'boss girl' with yoyo, the drama is about her working with the police to be a pseudo-detective of sorts).

Really though, Hayate has been filler after filler. Nothing much to say, though I must admit I have been getting good laughs here and there because of references, which is more than I can say for the story arcs.

Need mo Hina though, lol.

I do wonder though, what is the baseball scene referencing to? At first glance I thought it was Touch (as the character designs and costumes look awfully like Tatsuya and Minami), but considering its a senpai-kouhai relationship, I changed my mind. Now I'm baffled.

Dr. Slump reference was awesome.

Someone please tell me they know what I'm talking about.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I DO know what Dr. Slump is.

Master Chibi 2008-02-27 23:25

I know, but I was referring to the actual reference in the episode.

Not the show it was references.

D:

anselfir 2008-02-28 01:20

it seems that real development towards a conclusion of sort may damage the series' current atmosphere of lackadaisical fun.

Master Chibi 2008-02-28 02:06

Why the HELL would you a conclusion to this show?

I would give my left arm to have this show go on for as long as Doraemon did, so long as the quality was consistent.

The Chaos 2008-02-28 06:23

yongshun 2008-02-28 15:20

The preview was funny, with that red and blue faced robot.

Deathkillz 2008-02-28 16:17

The usual...life isn't the same without maria

Lots of cute isumi moments though...but I was surprised that she didn't get lost on her way to school :heh:

The preview looks interesting...maria seems to like robo hayate O.o
