What's the story?

NeoSam 2007-10-23 05:26

Our main protagonist is a masochist, he loves being abused by females, but he is troubled by this, He won't be able to have a normal love life and confess to the one he loves when he has this condition.

This is enough for now :P

Zero Shinohara 2007-10-23 08:41

Uhm... Not to bash on Zero no Tsukaima and Kage Kara Mamoru, but if this series follows the same basic concepts, I'll probably pass when it comes out. The girls look cute, though, and if they keep the art close to what's featured in the light novels, then it might be worthy of watching.

Some nice illustrations are available on the publisher's site:

Media Factory is the publisher of the boy's light novel label MF Bunko J.

I haven't read the light novels, so I can't be sure about the following, I read these from people's comments on the novels:

He gets slapped by a girl which is the reason for the awakening of his masochism (LOL).
One or more of the heroines are sadists >.> (LOL)

holyman282 2007-10-23 19:05

I can kind of understand what the MM means now i think lol

Genjo 2007-10-23 19:35

Sorry guys, false report :(

Quoting myself from the New Announced Anime thread:

Quote:

I was wondering why the MM! anime wasn't mentioned on MoonPhase yet, so I did a little research:

http://kom824.blog113.fc2.com/blog-entry-317.html

It does not say on the obi strip on the 3rd volume cover: アニメ化 but it says: アニメ化 したい!

アニメ化 = anime-ka = anime adaptation (anime conversion)

アニメ化 したい! = anime-ka shitai! = I want to do an anime adaptation!

(したい = shitai = want to do)

Yeah, this is no more than wishful thinking :P

And from a small picture of the cover, the only thing thats viewable is the アニメ化 (anime-ka): (the source image of the false news)

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6021/84012057iz9.jpg

Its only the アニメ化 (anime-ka) is what can be seen from that small image, and what lead to this false report about an anime adaptation.

For now there's no actual anime adaptation of MM! light novel series.

NeoSam 2010-03-17 13:03

Thanks to xris for re-opening this thread :)

The anime adaptation became true :D I'll be updating the first post of this thread with the covers of the shounen(boy's) light novel series MM!, which this anime is based on.

Edit:

Heh, notice that this thread is about 2.5 years old... 2.5 years till it really got an anime adaptation.

Kunagisa 2010-03-17 13:11

So no actually staff information until the 23rd when the 9th volume goes on sale? I honestly don't care much for the premise but at least the art looks somewhat decent ...

キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!!

Ya~y! It's been a long wait...
Ever since that "want to" thing. :heh:

I hope the anime art will be as good as QP Flapper's, but... Not possible...? (´・ω・`)

The characters look pretty generic (not in a bad way) so it shouldn't be hard to reproduce. The manga one's pretty good (albeit characters look slightly more mature, just very slightly). Mio just gives me massive Koromo vibe (Saki) from the novel art (too loli-like), though I don't get as much that from the manga.

serenade_beta 2010-03-17 13:43

Well, there is no insurance though. Even if the basic structure is the same, the overall feeling of the art differs. For instance, Kanokon's and Ladies x Butler's anime art keeps the "same design" but look like different people. The two Spice and Wolf seasons share similar designs, but the overall feel is completely different... especially in the magazine scans.

Anyways, the good thing of an anime version is more popularity for the series... The bad thing is worrying over how good it will be, as a fan.
Waiting for more info... in a few days? When the drama CD is released?
And since the anime's voice actor =/= drama CD's, there is the worry that Kugimiya will be drafted for Mio-sama......................................
doki doki waku waku

Kunagisa 2010-03-17 13:55

Think the Drama CD's on the 24th, but Comic Alive's on the 27th? So yeah probably more information coming over in the next couple of days/week.

Who is in the cast for the drama cd?

Mizuno 2010-03-17 15:55

Please don't use Kanokon's character design for the anime... oh god how much I hated it... -_-

And please let Rie take over the role of Mio, that abusive tsundere nature is so fitting for her.

At the time it was created, I was still a relative newcomer to late night anime. Flash forward to now, and I'm a regular. Time flies.
