Quote:

Hino Akiharu lost his parents when he was an elementary student and was taken in by his uncle's family. One day, he sees on the news about the newly-established Hakureiryou Gakuin, a school which was re-built from an elite girls' school. He decides to take the exam for that school and succeeds in entering the House Management Department (the place to train maids & butlers). He wants to become a butler, although his appearance scares the ladies. Akiharu has a sinister look in his eyes, a scar on his right eyebrow, and bristled up hair. Add 3 piercings on his ears and he indeed has a typical bad boy look on him.

He meets his "nemesis" at that school, Saikyou Tomomi, a girl with a two faced character who traumatized him many times since they were kids. Another girl named Cernia Iori FlameHeart chases after him because of his looks and calls him suspicious. Still, Akiharu starts finding his feet at the school and his relationships with the girls also get better...

I added the covers of the shounen light novel series Ladies versus Butlers! to the first post of this thread...

Duo Maxwell 2009-09-08 12:45

I see a lot of "no-pan" ladies.

Why am I not surprised to see Ayako and Xebec together?

Mizuno 2009-09-09 08:03

I just looked at some of the raw, I think I understand now why they have Kanokon's director doing this...

musume_no_hoshi 2009-09-09 15:57

The title is misleading, I thought this was aimed at girls. You know...fujoshis do LOVES butlers. Well nevermind.

It's not aimed at me, so 'no comment' from me.

Newprimus 2009-09-11 20:15

The manga is up on some site and the story's quite cute. Drill girl (lol) is a delicious tsundere.

Avisch 2009-09-12 10:54

Goody. Random cute-ness is always appreciated.

Same reason half of Zetsubo-Sensei's VAs were Maria+Holic

And that reason is....?

I haven't watched Maria+Holic, so have no idea who the seiyuus are in that show.

Saymon 2009-09-12 13:47

it seems good but xebec...

kramerica 2009-09-12 13:53

For a sec I thought it looked like some sort of battle royale between epic tsunderes vs combat butlers, but I can only dream of something like that ever happening.

...means a lot of fanservice? :P
It says it's shounen but I can only see it as comedy/romance/drama...I mean how exactly is the plot going to unfold?

Midonin 2009-09-12 14:39

"Shounen" is a demographic, not a genre. It can be both.

Kafriel 2009-09-12 14:42

Thanks for clarifying that, it got shounen as a genre in the OP :)

Shadow Kira01 2009-09-13 10:13

I don't think this anime will turn out to be a shounen one. Its most likely the crossover of Hayate no Gotoku! and some ecchi love comedy.

Its a light novel series aimed at teenage boys, so yes its a shounen(boy's) light novel series.

Lummie 2009-09-13 16:39

If the anime is gonna be like "They Are My Noble Masters" , then i'm definitely sold.

-Sho- 2009-09-13 17:55

The first cover remember me a card in the game "Dengeki Gakuen RPG" .
Well , seems a very ecchi anime .
"Genre = Shounen" . I though it was Shojo .
No pics for the guy ? seems a yakuza's like .

Oh , and yeah , you add Kanokon's director , Character designer too then here it comes ECCHIS !

Again, that's not a genre.

Oh. Well Maria+Holic and Zetsubou Sensei are both by SHAFT, and since the seiyu were (mostly) the same for those series I assume it's gotta be because it's convenient for the studios to have people they've worked with before.

So I assume the same is for XEBEC and Kawasumi Ayako.

As I said before Ladies versus Butlers! is a light novel series aimed at boys. Dengeki Bunko is a label aimed at a teenage boys/young adult males (the light novel series is published under this shounen label), and is not aimed at girls.

Mizuno 2009-09-15 00:42

It's the typical harem with lots of girls so it's definitely shounen. Too many big breasted women scares me though. Even a tsundere will lose her charms if she packs a couple of melons... I think there must be a formula to calculate something like this, I suppose Maid Guy can tell us. :heh:

NeoSam 2009-10-04 12:58

The anime will start broadcast on January 5th, 2010.

Midonin 2009-11-20 09:41

Opening and ending theme artists confirmed. Lantis provides once again.

The OP is "LOVE x HEAVEN" by Mai Nakahara, Ayako Kawasumi, Rie Kugimiya and Ami Koshimizu.
The ED, still untitled, is by Mai Nakahara.

Mizuno 2009-11-21 07:46

Not really a fan of the art style they used for Kanokon the anime, the trailer didn't really impress either. I'll give it 2-3 episodes when it comes around before I decide whether to drop it.

Lummie 2009-11-21 08:02

The trailer

Kakkou 2009-11-21 08:04

Hmm, not fond of the chara designs, but I'll give it a shot. I'm in a somewhat love hate viewpoint of XEBEC (though it tends to lean towards hate). Maybe it'll prove to be entertaining. Btw, I keep getting the urge to eat croissants whenever I see that twin drills girl.

hinakatbklyn 2009-11-21 22:23

It looks like the trailer showed almost every fanservice scene in the series. I never had a problem with fanservice, but even though I saw the Kanokon series somehow the fanservice there went overboard even for me.

Since Kanokon and Ladies vs butlers are both Xebec regardless of who the voices are, I sense bad omen (but I might be thinking too far ahead). Right now the art and character designs from the trailer is above average which is fine with me. I still plan on checking this series out.

Midonin 2009-11-24 21:18

Now we have some anime-style promotional art.

http://i50.tinypic.com/2ir3vax_th.jpg
Who the main players are: Akiharu (in the suit), Selnia (drill hair), Tomomi (short brown hair), Sanae (maid) and Kaoru (other one in a suit).

CrowKenobi 2009-12-05 13:11

I so want to check out this anime, but the similar character designs from Kanokon is sooo wanting me to not to bother... *sigh*

Has Akio Takami ever heard of noses???

Edit: magazine scan:

-Sho- 2009-12-05 13:56

Ok , yeah , art design the same as Kanokon so great design .
But omg , so Fanservice powaaa ...
Japan's author really like Butlers , Princess , Rich people and Cie lol
As usual , the maid , the school girl , the loli (huh) .
(Mostly the princess is a blond girl though )

SquirrelLuvsPnut 2009-12-05 16:10

I think they should have spent their money on making this into a game. Not the "points-by-girls-you-bed" kind of game, but the Smash Brothers kind.

Midonin 2009-12-09 18:29

The official website has gone into its final form. No info on the title of the ED theme yet, but we can now get a good look at the character designs, as well as a finalized airtime for the show.

22:00 (or 10:00 PM Japan Time) on AT-X on Tuesday, Jan. 5th.

those are one of the biggest... hair croissant i have ever seen.

I have to agree, the char design does look pretty unappealing, especially with the way how almost every female has disproportionate big bewbs. Ah well, its a harem so I will give it a chance.

Midonin 2009-12-10 11:41

There we go, got the ED title. "my starry boy", by Mai Nakahara.

longshot 2009-12-16 15:51

according to sources about the storyline it could be( or may as well be) a harem anime because the school that it takes place in WAS a all girls school and just recently just opened up as co-ed

male population:5

yeah goodluck guys

Bonta Kun 2009-12-19 00:24

lol when you see the "oh-my-hand-grabbed-her-boob-while-falling-on-top-of-her" scene, you know you can't expect much from it but you know its good for some s**** and giggles:heh:

I had only found out about this in winter anime thread, premise appealed to me and just saw the trailer just now.
I think I'll probably check it out cause....well the inner ecchi wants to and I can't argue with him:p

Johnny 2009-12-20 02:28

This one might actually pass Kanokon in terms of service, service. The one blond's hair reminds me of that other blond on the student council from Mamoru-kun...

CrowKenobi 2009-12-26 18:32

New magazine scan:

http://g.imagehost.org/t/0720/cc42bc...ff4f877aca.jpg

And I think I'll drop it at this point... I just can't stand how the characters are designed... *sigh*
