Hopefully I haven't missed an existing thread in my excitement ._.

But seems that Gundam00 rumour from a while ago is true.

The series will be the first Gundam television project in high-definition.

As previously announced, the story of the 12th Gundam animated series takes place 300 years from now in 2307 AD on Earth. The main lead, Setsuna F. Seiei, pilots a mobile suit named Gundam Exia for a mysterious private military organization (Solestal Being). He fights to eradicate the nonstop wars that plague the entire world.

The press release confirms that Fullmetal Alchemist's Seiji Mizushima will be directing Sunrise on the animation. Series script supervisor Yōsuke Kuroda (Honey and Clover, Hellsing video series) will oversee the writing. Loveless and Earthian manga creator Yun Kouga is designing the original characters, which Basilisk's Michinori Chiba will then adapt for animation.

Kunio Okawara will contribute to the mechanical designs as he has for almost every Gundam television series since the first one, and he is joined by Kanetake Ebikawa (Full Metal Panic!, Vandread) and Takayuki Yanase (Toward the Terra… television series, Zegapain). Hitoshi Fukuchi (Blue Gender, Double Fake: Under the Gundam manga) and Kenji Teraoka (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Great Dangaioh) will contribute conceptual mechanical designs, and Seiichi Nakatani (Planetes) will adapt the designs for animation.

That aside, I'm liking the minimalist design of the main mecha. Though the chara designs are another story...

Well I won't go as far as to say they're bad, but they aren't exactly pleasing either, especially the bespectacled one..1st and 3rd look OK, and the last one is horribly generic.

Now with a clean slate, I eagerly anticipate a cast/staff list. Which I hope will come soon.:D

Edit: Watched trailer...I can't identify that voice...its familiar though.

Ugh, not another bunch of holier-than-thou militant pacifists like Lacus and co. But since they start with that concept, unlike GS, probably they will develop into something else by the end of the series.

P.S. The name and logo is simply asking for a James Bond 007 parody. :)

The Narrator for the promo is Tohru Furuya. He voices Amuro Rei in the original Gundam series.

Request to the mods but think we could get a sticky perhaps since this is actually confirmed now?

And anyone notice in the trailer the title Gundam seems to be modular as well. I think I saw it use a Launcher type pack.

Thank goodness no more Jesus Yamato and Darth Clyne.

If he's actually part of the cast I don't even know what I will do other than stifling back girlish shrieks of sheer joy. I think I've just rediscovered my inner fanboy again. :D.

No, until there's an announcement I'm going to guess Tohru is there because...well he's Amuro Rei. He seems almost retired now anyway. I can see him potentially hosting a special the week before the series airs though.
