Kill Me Baby (Baby, please kill me.)

キルミーベイベー

Despite the imperative thread title, this is an actual series, one that just recently got its anime announced. I know that it's a 4-koma from Kirara, and its covers have been spoofed a lot on pixiv. Time will tell what more it has going for it.

Miraluka 2011-07-27 17:17

LOL.

What kind of genre is it?

Midonin 2011-07-27 17:22

Going by the covers, I would guess "violent slapstick comedy".

ZODDGUTS 2011-07-27 18:11

Not violent per say but there is physical comedy. Really funny series btw.

zeniselv 2011-07-27 18:20

i liked the first chapters, but it got kinda "meh", not sure how to describe it , but is quite similar to nichijou.

tyciol 2011-07-27 23:46

How does this series' violence compare to Haiyoru Nyaru Ani?

MisaoFan 2011-07-28 00:15

The original title "キルミーベイベー", means "Kill me Baby"

Marisa Kirisame 2011-07-28 12:41

Somehow, I've always had a feeling that this would get an adaption...

Looks like either KyoAni, Go Hands, or Studio Gokumi to me. Go Hands haven't done anything since Seitokai Yakuindomo, so I'm hoping it's them. My gut is telling me it's Studio Gokumi though.

I'm surprised this is getting an anime. From what a read a while ago the manga wasn't exactly that far along to begin with? Unless it's been machine gunning chapters weekly. Though I guess it would be somewhat easy to stretch whats there out into 12 episodes or so.

Enjoyed the manga quite a bit, looking forward to this.

GoHands have been working on the Mardock Scramble Movie trilogy, the second of which comes out in September. I wouldn't be surprised if they jump straight into a Seitokai Yakuindomo sequel right after that trilogy is wrapped up, from the Seitokai thread....

Two more OADs on the horizon, and the seventh manga volume will have "some kind of an enjoyable project" planned for next July.

I hope KyoAni is doing this and uses the Nichijou team.

Kudryavka 2011-09-18 20:12

Looks cute. brb g2g read the manga

Forsaken_Infinity 2011-09-18 21:52

Hmm...

So you say it resembles Nichijou?

Does it match Nichijou?

And is Kyoani doing it?

I am seriously hyped if the answers to those are yes.

But I have the feeling Kyoani might be looking into some other genre now ...

Kameruka 2011-09-19 00:14

Sounds like a parody show that making fun of shoujo and josei genres. I really hoped for that.

Raiga 2011-09-19 00:49

Saw the manga at Kinokuniya the other day. Sadly vol. 1 wasn't there (IT NEVER IS DAMMIT) or I would have bought it, but it looked hilarious based on the cover art and back cover summary from vol. 2 and 3. In any case I look forward to this, whenever it comes out.

Story's about Sonya, a russian assassin girl attending a japanese high school on her off-duty time, and Yasuna her moronic boke friend. It involves lots of humor involving Yasuna taunting Sonya and getting the crap beaten out of her, or Yasuna trying to become friendlier with Sonya and usually getting suplexed or something. It's a lot of comedy like that, really cute and funny.

Planned for Winter 2012 (January).
Studio: JC Staff

*insert Rie will voice loli tsundere joke*

Midonin 2011-09-27 08:58

When it comes to comedy, JC Staff is actually a really good choice. Milky Holmes and Twin Angel were both delightfully wonky, and if they can carry that magic over to here, this series is in good hands.
