It's been played throughout the original series, but since there isn't a music thread, and this is the current most popular topic, and it just so happens to be played, I decided to post it here.

I realy enjoyed the first 2 seasons and the mangas so for me, it would be never waste time.

Err... that's not what I said. I said waste of potential, not waste of time.

Is it melodramatic to suggest that School Rumble is the biggest waste of potential in anime/manga this decade? I mean, Kobayashi writes these amazing characters, that are so sympathetic and multi-dimensional and complicated and, well, just brilliant. Yet he seemingly can't write a well-paced and well developed plotline to save his life. It's so disappointing because even in this episode you could see glimpses of the masterpiece it could have been shining through the occasional cracks of otherwise mediocrity. I can't help but just shake my head and utter "if only..."

You ripped the words right out of my mouth and on to your keyboard thx, your post is exactly what I’ve been wanting to say for some time now.

I agree School Rumble was special it had this immense amount of potential all down the gutter because of a cowardly author.

As I think back to the episodes(and manga) and recall the exciting development between great characters, all of it is MEANINGLESS, null and void, garbage in my mind when you have this weak conclusion where the author is telling fans “think up your own ending.”

Is it really that difficult to become great? This series was a step or two away from knocking on that door of greatness, but it fell flat on its face right at the end! What a shame.

Yeah they edited out some parts in the manga to try and salvage an ending but it still sucked in short.

I am feeling rather molested now again.

Timewarp...lame lame lame.

Loved S1 and S2, couldn't get enough...

But this, the ending is like nothing happened and we're back to the end of S2.

I'm so sad, the whole climax of the show was wasted!

kenjiharima 2008-10-03 08:46

Hey what about the first OVA. That was also one of the factors why SR was loved so much before this ending.

Wonder when will NNA be animated?

Anime Daisuki 2008-10-09 18:14

I wish they would've at least showed Harima's new song =/

I think KJ intended for True Oudou to occur but due to such a large fanbase being in the other factions, he's trying to eliminate all traces of any development left.

Also btw all the episodes of Sangakki was aired in the DVD, In summary that is...narrated by mostly Hanai and Akira with the rest of the SR cast. This is the ONLY thing that clears things up for non manga readers.

Do you know where I could get that DVD with English dubbing? Thanks.

There's no english dubbed yet of SR-sanggaki. Only the Japanese dvd bundled with the limited edition of the final manga is where you can get it for now.

Even now getting back to this thread is still heartbreaking, since that is not the way to end an anime and manga.

Ack, that's what I meant, except, is that out with the SUBS, I should have said. Ie is there anywhere to get that DVD with English subtitles?

In all honesty, I've never even watched it with English dubbing, but I know it's out.
O.o go figure?

Correct me if I'm mistaken but True Oudou = Harima x Tenma.

Oh. Maybe it's my mistake. I thought Oudou was Harima x Tenma and True Oudou was Tenma x Karasuma... o.o all these factions, it's easy to get lost/confused among them.

CaptainSmoker 2008-10-18 09:43

To bad none of the factions came true, instead we were given the WTF faction, where every1 ends up with a pie in the face instead of a life partner...

A great ending to a romance anime id say (sarcasm) :heh:

Anime Daisuki 2008-10-18 13:57

We got Oudou didn't we?

lonewolf777 2008-10-20 08:46

One of the two. XD

i dont know, the last issue confused most when Tenma started to cry after seeing Harima show up at the church, fans begin to speculate she fell for Harima now, so i would say its unclear. :twitch:

I'd say she's just happy that he came to the reunion since he was the one that got her to the airport and all.
