so... whats this all about???

jcdranzer 2007-08-06 17:04

I was doing some *more* browsing through this section and found that this didn't have a description of the story.

Synopsis (~by Bryan from animeonline~):

The anime will be based on the manga's story of 16-year-old Shintaro Kurenai, a specialist in settling squabbles between people, who is one day approached by the daughter of a powerful plutocratic family asking him to be her bodyguard. Think Combat Butler Hayate without the, uh, butlers. It seems like there's very little going on here regarding the other kind of "kurenai" - female ninja - but you never know.

Speaking of the Kure-nai manga adaption in Jump Square Issue #01 which will be released on the 2nd November 2007.....the same day Claymore Chapter 74 will be out.:D

A trailer is available on the official site:
http://www.samidareso.com/

Supah Em 2008-01-15 10:35

hmm i've seen the trailer and i cant seem to help but think that the animation looks a lot like witch hunter robin.

and the little girl's manga look is much better than its anime counterpart(or is it just me)

the trailers looks dark(figuratively) but its supposed to be a "hayate" type series. not that im complaining though, its already on my watch list =)

I've read all the novels that are published (3 volumes, the story is still going btw), it's got some light moments, but it's not a Hayate type series by a long shot. It actually gets quite a fair bit darker and more disturbing/violent as the story progresses, so I would say the serious, dark coloured look compared with your average anime is probably intentional.

Supah Em 2008-01-23 06:27

and another thing

the manga and novel's character styles are quite different from the anime it seems.

Anyone know who voices that little girl... I don't know her name *looks for manga*

EDIT - Read the 3 chapters that are out, good stuff.

Slightly looking forward to it because of Ko Matsuo (loved Red Garden), but was somewhat underwhelmed by the synopsis.

We'll see, I guess.
