Mugi's got good taste in keyboards. She utilizes the Korg Trition Extreme as her main instrument of choice. Good show Mugi, good show.

There's, of course, a mess load more functions and such, but those are the main ones.

And if anyone's curious, the Keytar that Mugi uses during the ED song is a white Korg RK-100 MIDI controller. Its just.... not connected to anything in the ED. As far as I know, the Korg RK-100, like most keytars, only serves as a controller, and can't actually make sounds on its own.

Pretty much all my friends who play the keys uses a Korg model.:D

Forgot to mention. While it is in stock, the Triton Extreme goes for a little over $1000 on Ebay. So yeah. Mugi's money came in handy. Sigh. Really Mugi, you had me from the moment you played in the OP. Keyboards=Amazing. Keyboardists=More amazing.

If all goes well, I'm getting the Korg X50 over the summer. The less expensive synth cousin of the Triton Extreme(which is technically a keyboard workstation).

I'm currently utilizing the Casio WK3300 digital piano now, and it works amazingly, especially for a keyboard in the lower price range.

I am not familiar with Keyboards, but isn't Triton Extreme a bit outdated now?
At $1000, you will be better off with the newer Korg M50, I think.

I wouldn't call it outdated, but it is gettin' older. It was produced in 2005 if memory serves me. The Korg m50 is the newest Korg model, but honestly, I'm partial to the Korg OASIS, which was sadly discontinued last month. THAT is a beast of a keyboard.

Now, I think I'll try to get some info on Ritsu's drums. Drums would be my second musical love, after Keyboards type instruments.

If you're looking for Ritsu's drums, it's the Yamaha HG6T46RM Rick Marotta Signature Hipgig. I already did a brief rundown of the instruments 4 weeks ago.

Yamaha makes fine drums they do, though a friend of mine who's also a band drummer says that Yamaha's compact drum sets like the hipgig really aren't ideal for live performances because the size reduction affects the acoustics, which he says are noticable in a smaller performance area.

I think it is more likely that it is cherry sunburst, rather than honey.

Yeah but I wish we have guitars to compare (they all look the same so I can't tell the shade XD) [grew interested in this cause of K-ON!]

I'm leaning more towards the cherry sunburst too. Its a bit darker.







Also, side note for Ritsu's drums. She uses Ziljidan symbols. Not sure of the size though. Nor am I sure how you'd even go about figuring out the sizes.

Here's a high-res version of Yui's guitar. It's a cherry burst for sure.

You could probably make an estimation based on relative sizes, comparing it to the size of other objects...One of the manga chapters does have a series of panels of Yui comparing the size of her hand with the other characters' hands...Use the size of various sections of the Gibson Les Paul to make an estimation of the size of Yui's hand, such as how far around the neck Yui holds her guitar, how many fret spaces her hand takes up, and so on...Use that to make an estimation of how big Ritsu's hands are, which are slightly smaller than Yui's...Use that to estimate how long the drumsticks she uses are...Use that to estimate the radius/diameter of the symbols she uses...

I don't remember how well the anime is with giving detailed reference shots to do this, but it's worth an effort if it can be done...If MythBusters can use relative measuring in movies, I'm sure we can do the same thing to make an estimation in anime... :p

Hate to say it, but one of these is shot live action with film and the other is drawn.

I'm digging on Mio's bass. Anyone have a similar instrument and willing to say what they think about it?

That's why I'm saying "estimate", not make it out to be an exact science; Use similar methods, not duplicate without latitude...I can't think of another way to even remotely figure out the size of Ritsu's symbols other than through this method, short of just guessing, and that doesn't exactly help...
