Linda was Banri's girlfriend before his accident. In fact, she is the vice-captain mentioned in the prologue of the first volume, which in the Japanese text has her name and gender completely hidden by the author.

after the confession near the end of volume one, does he get a response in volume 2?

Tada goes home for a half a day and he looks at some pictures at home and discovers that Linda was in the same class as him in high school, which raises some questions and doubts. back at the university he turns down his own confession to Kouko saying he wants them to be friends, but his mind is actually elsewhere troubled by the memory loss and Linda

Even so, i think his confession was a great confidence booster for her and he's probably no longer in the just friends category.

i really don't think that if a girl gets confessed right after she was dumped, and also both of the parties were drunk as hell, she gets her confidence boosted. it looked to me that she was at first escaping hastily from his room. but it could be that she was confused. i really don't understand women, but i think she was looking forward to meeting with Tada, that is what perplexes me. anyway i'm a fan of Kouko x Tada....If Linda was her girl prior to the accident, then she was selfish to leave behind the poor guy, without memories and stuff, yeah she was nice and stuff, but to not say anything and leave him behind...

I don't either, lol. I just said that because it seems she derives a lot of her self-worth by relying on Mitsuo and is in actuality socially-awkward.

I hope the ending is the obvious one where Kouko and Tada end up together but its more likely that Tada will reconnect with Linda and both of them will go out together leaving Kouko to fall in love with another random guy that appears out of no where. Leaving a happy ending where the trio (Tada, Kouko, and Mitsuo) end up together as friends as all three of them falls in love with someone else outside of the group. This is probably going to be the ending, note i only read the first volume so i don't know what will happen but i am mostly 100 percent correct. I hope i am wrong and Tada and Kouko end up together though but my brain and detective skills are like "nahh that won't happen this will mostly happen"

about the ending: the light novel is not finished yet. judging by the illustrations at the ending of the 3rd volume Tada suffers some injuries and Kouko is concerned to the point of nursing him, then linda gets to friendly with Tada, but Kouko intervenes but the last pic shows Kouko crying which is indeed a cliffhanger...interesting thing is that at the ending of the third volume Kouko is also crying. poor girl.... i kinda feel her pain (boy who she was in love for like 13 years dumps her, she has no other friend besides Tada, she kinda like wasted her whole life chasing the wrong person) Tada is the same (18 years of life erased, all the people who know him rejected him because he became a different person...even Linda pretended to be a stranger with him, even though they were a couple...)

i think personally Tada and kouko will end up together they are both heartbroken, rejected from society so they stick together....and eventually end up together
