The game begins with a carriage and several people traveling in it. We learn that they are the heirs to the throne of what the program translates as Vintoronto. The two would be heirs Masaseturu(sp?) and Puresea peer into the throne and marvel at the baby girl whom will be the next heir after them and they expect great things from her. Suddenly the carriage stop and a commotion thought to be bandits appears nearby. Masaseteru gets out to see what the commotion is and finds that it appears to actually be an unproked attack by what the program translates as the Suburmu empire. Masasteru rushes into combat to attempt to keep the empire from reaching the carriage and harming Puresea and his daughter. Suddenly a Golem appears with a horrible cry that sends shivers down Masasteru's spin and begins to attack both sides indiscrimentely. Masasteru tells the carriage driver to get the others out of the area and he will follow when he can break away from the chaos. Puresea rushes out however to join her beloved (assumed) and the last we see of them is a still of them standing back to back fending of the empires attack. The narrative tells us this event caused the destabalization of a precious peace between Vintoronto and the Suburmu empire leading to a war that has gone 10 years as the present time and true setting of the game dawns. Cue the somewhat painful opening and we see our brave (snicker) hero Hyaweah being given a lunchbox and a kiss of good luck by his little sister who's name I can't recall (I'm doing this from the memory of two days ago and no script to look at). Anyway he is apparentely heading off for his first day at the Knight Academy to become a defender of justice and the banner of Vintoronto (Good thing he can't even handle a few loli's but we'll get to that, the future is in great hands :(), anyway Hyaweah debates with himself as to why he wants to be a Knight and I chose a mixture of justice and status for him since he seems like he really needs it. Soon our brave hero gets lost in a forest and hears a noise coming from nearby. As he approaches he sees a completely naked girl with an absurdely long Rapier fighting off a ninja. Hyaweah admires the girls prowess and beauty from afar and wishes he could be even half that awesome, when he decides he can and attempts to help her out without any context as to what is going on (Just because she's a cute girl doesn't mean she can't be the bad one). Bad idea though as he slips in the water when trying to maneuver and sinks like a rock. When he wakes up the girl is holding the rapier to his throat and demands some answers as to why he was peeping on her. I chose to alter the context in which peeping arises since I didn't want our brave hero to die this early on, before the hero stuff. The girl seems to buy it but is adamant that the next time Hyaweah is caught peeping she'll more or less cleave him in half. As she walks off Hyaweah admires her back and decides not to follow her since he remembers he's twenty minutes late for the opening classes at school. As he stumbles through the forest he reaches the light and sure enough the school stands their before him in all its glory.

The school surely is something else as we see a massive castle known as Rosenberg and a large city surrounding it, sure to be the setting of many a date and probably filled to the brim with cute girls to help out of small problems. Anyway, Hyaweah makes his way through the city which seems to be filled with a disturbing amount of windmills when he reache Hogwartz.... I mean Rozenberg castle the biggest windwill of them all worthy of Don Quixote's challenge. In the garden he marvels at the pretty flowers (Starting to wonder who the real man of the story is here) and ultimately appreachs the anteroom when SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH! Having no idea what's happening and assuming my game crashed I look at the screen to find Hyaweah in a compromising position with a loli sitting on his chest holding her forward and mumbling her name. Apparently Litte was running in the halls when she crashed right into our brave hero and her forehead hurts like hell. When given the choice to either burst out laughing at her lisp or to try and charm her, I decide she was annoying and I kind of hated her. However, my lolicon ways got the better of me in the end so I chose to charm her and gave her my rendition of "The Emperor's New Clothes" Although she didn't make her laugh and she seemed genuinely confused it distracted her enough in order for her to stand up and let Hyaweah breath again. We learn from her referring to herself in the third person that her name is Litte and she is a student at the school. When Hyaweah mumbles to himself how Litte reminds him of his little sister she screeches at him that she is not a child. Just when I think I have to kill her to silence her and not draw scorn on Hyaweah she decides to run off to the class she was heading to and the Crying Loli alarm is not set off leading to automatic game over. Hyaweah thanks his lucky stars and wonders if he will see this Litte again soon. As he approaches the Principals office he knocks and is told to enter. The principal has a bizarre appearance, but is deadly serious that Hyaweah should not be permitted to attend this years term. Apparently Hyaweah is 2 weeks late for registration, but Hyaweah explains that the postman screwed up and delivered his letter of admission late. The principal decides to be lenient and permits Hyaweah to register, when suddenly an ear piercing noise is heard from outside the window. When Hyaweah questions as to what the noise might be the principal is secretive and excuses himself quickly from the room with but one word of advice, "I'd open the window if I were you.". Just as Hyaweah approaches the window and opens it... SMAAAAAAAAAASH! Again I think my game has crashed, but apparently there is now another different loli named Fil who has awkwardly cannonballed our brave hero and is now laying on top of him in a daze, whether Hyaweah is dead I don't know as this is where I called it a night on Thursday. I think I'm starting to see a trend here, either our brave hero is a literal loli magnet, or they are out to kill him by breaking every bone in his body incident by incident. To Be Continued....

So I had updated, but apparently overextended my post. Anyway Fil turned out to be spying on the principal using a magic spell that went out of control and now she title Hyaweah the "King of Lateness". The principal asked her to give Hyaweah a tour and she quickly got off of him and apologized for crushing him (Heh look I'd be saying no problem at this point). So then Hyaweah decided to get small revenge by tugging on her ears (She's elven) and she didn't like it much but felt it was far. Anyway she than proclaimed "WELCOME TO MAGICAL SCHOOL" and told me all about the prinicipal being a master fencer, the houses of Pegasus, Griffon, Dragon etc, which is either a cue from Harry Potter or Saint Seiya. Apparently Fil is in the same house as Hyaweah which is Pegasus (A Pegasus Fantasy to be sure) (Lucky Bastard). So the tour continues and Fil doesn't want to show Hyaweah the men's dorm because of fear of being sexually harassed. She also wants to stop and get some food at the cafe, but second guesses that she may become unattractive if she gorges to much (HA like that will ever happen in an H-Game). Apparently we are here anyway and its a top notch cafe run by a three start chef. Oh and A Lunch is apparently a high quality and balanced meal according to Fil when asked by Hyaweah for a recommendation (This girl is nuts I swear to god). Apparently lunch is ranked by quality and price making S Lunch the best of all, but according to Fil a bit too pricey. But C Lunch is free and all-you can eat (Fil seems really happy about this too). Onto the nurses office where everything is high tech and treated by magic. Fil cryptically mentions if Hyaweah intends to end up here with a devious look on her face (holy crap is she threatning me). AHHH! She's like right up against the screen now (Note to self, do not piss off Fil). QUESTION TIME! According to Fil. Apparently classes are shrinking as people graduate, flunk out or er... die due to gruelling training. Also apparently the school offers missions part time for credit as well. Easy jobs are transport and guard duty. Apparently Fil wants a mission that involves slaying what appears to be Mokujin from Tekken because it pays fairly well. Now we are in the courtyard were Fil has unpleasant memories from when she launched herself into the principals window earlier. Oh a ghost haunts the courtyard as Fil explains in the most overly dramatic way possible (and with that creepy look on her face again). There's also a really obnoxious looking statue of the principal in the courtyard which Fil says is a result of a surplus of funds. QUESTION TIME! Apparently one can't become a night without a certain passing grade, but regardless at the end of the year there is a huge feast attended by dignitaries from all over Vintoronto (again Fil seems way to happy about the prospect of food). Oh and there's a Dan-Dan-Dance as Fil puts it as well and lots of love love coupling. She's looking for a dance partner as they speak (ME, PICK ME!). Hyaweah asks about the uniform and I see a pan up of Fil in her uniform which she proclaims is very cute (Why do I get the feeling only she's allowed to wear this magical girl outfit with the hat that's larger than the rest of her body). Actually apparently its true as a result of the principal wanting girls in a miniskirt (I honestly was just joking initially, didn't know it was true. I'm writing this as I play). Apparently times a wasting and then Fil sneezes (I was expecting a whirlwind, but nothing happened. I'm a bit disappointed). Now we're finally at one of these huge windmill tower's. This is actualyl a lookout tower and apparently Fil likes to take naps here. It's also used as a power supply as Vintoronto is a country of wind. The collected power is used to create prisms, which are used to perform different feats of magic such as healing or attack (Fil is very good at this she says. Makes me glad she's on the our brave hero's side). Fil gave me one of her prisms, which appears to be a type of liquor that I'm to be careful with as it may cause great pains (er thanks Fil, I guess...). Hyaweah asks if its any good and Fil says not to worry about it as she's a magical apprentice (and a total nutcase, but meh). Hyaweah decides that it might be useful in combat then (Yikes, it must be like Kusuha Mizuha's energy drink). Hyaweah now wants to see the classroom, but Fil says it might not be so easy as a class is already in session. This reminds our brave hero that he has already missed enough classes as it is and he is a bit upset. Apparently this whole tour has been going on while Hyaweah should be in class (She has that look in her eye again). That look said she is going to sneak Hyaweah into the class (This can't possibly end well). Hyaweah slowly steps into class and hey it's Litte again. Hyaweah greets her in a child honorfic and the class suddenly halts entirely and a gasp is heard as everybody looks to who is about to get some beatings (and my god does she looks pissed). Hyaweah tripped the crying Loli alarm he had just skillfully avoided a little over an hour ago. Apparently Litte is also the teacher of Hyaweah's classe (You know what after Rebecca Miyamoto this doesn't come as a surprise. Litte is also about as prone to sudden fits of Hao Hao as Becky). Hyaweah apologizes and disaster is averted (Hooray!) However now he's in trouble for skipping her lecture (Oh Noes!) Hyaweah takes his seat, and who should be sitting next to him, but the girl who almost killed him in the spring (Knew she'd show up again soon. This is an H-Game after all). She won't even look at him and the Litte starts her history lecture. It's a boring one so Hyaweah tries to strike up a conversation with his seating partner. He asks to see her text book and she grudgingly allows it (Score!). It's name time and initally the girl refuses to give her name, but finally says it is Priecia. Hyaweah says its a nice name and she gasps (Work it! Break that Tsundere down). Meanwhile Litte continues the lecture as Hyaweah stares at Precia noting her cold demeanor (as well as missing an entire page worth of text). Of course this is the time for Litte to embarass the daydreaming Hyaweah in front of the class by asking him to read a paragraph (classic). You can guess how it goes and so Precia takes over with her Man Voice (Oh that's right, I should mention she has an extremely deep Cagalli Yula Atha voice). For some reason we get an SD picture of Litte clearly outlining the twenty centimeter gap between the bottom of her feet and the floor as she perches on the teachers desk (Use a step stool for god sake girl). Anyway the lecture basically mentions the events that happened in the prologue as they are recorded in history. Hyaweah ask a stupid question to Litte and get's the plain answer that the topic is history and not Angel's. To Be Continued....

Well, the storyline so far with a single arc beaten doesn't move out of the ordinary for epic Japanese RPGs. This doesn't mean it's bad, but it has this feel of "I've seen this before..." that kind of blows part of the fun. The other thing that bothered me was the easiness of the battles. I mean, they were too easy. And the final boss battle was a joke.

Now that I've beaten the game with a single arc, may I just load on chapter 8 and select another girl? Will there begin to appear the other girls when I'm done with Kagura and Fel? Or do I have to play through the first 7 episodes all over again?

Things grow somewhat more serious as Litte and Hyaweah discuss why the angel Golem's were able to so easily defeat the Vintoronto army. I chose because the Vintoronto army did not know there weakness (everything has a weakness and the other choice was that they are to strong). Apparentely as they struggled to find a way to win (This is the battle I described in the prologue) moral dropped and defeat was ultimately ensured. Precia sheds a tear for those lost souls (Sniff... How touching UWAAAAAH). Surprisingly after this display of femininity (or perhaps not so surprisingly) Precia beats on Hyaweah verbally and essentially tells him he's a pussy and needs to grow a pair. AND CAUGHT TALKING BY LITTE (FINALLY!). Dude, Precia's ahoge kind of twitches when she's embarassed (At this time I should probably mention Litte's ridiculously huge pearl thingies that keep her pigtails in place). Anyway Precia blames Hyaweah for getting them into trouble. Of course this catches Litte's attention and she throws the chalk at them (I think I'm starting to like this girl almost as much as Fil). Lecture ends and Lunch Time (HOORAY!). The class president Robert orders everyone to bow and Litte accidentely overextends and smacks her head into her desk and starts to cry as she flees the room (Okay she just lost all the awesome points she earned with the chalk throwing. I actually had a teacher throw chalk at me once during a high school class by the way, that wasn't cool, but it's kind of funny when nobody is actually getting hurt for real). We now see the back of Precia and Hyaweah asks if she wants to get lunch with him. Guess what? REJECTED! Not to be beaten so easily, Hyaweah follows Precia into the hall and basically tells her she's cute (seriously) and this gets her attention and triggers her deredere mood. Just when it seems Precia is about to relent Fil jumps into the picture (Hooray! Fil's back, where has she been this whole time during the lecture?). Precia takes this chance to leave as she seems to think Hyaweah's a two timer (I'm not complaining, now I get to have lunch with Fil). Fil finds an open table in the lunch room and shouts "KEEPU!" (I love this crazy girl). Some Johnny McHandsome boy and emo guy try to muscle in on the table (Oh you bastards aren't trying to steal Fil are you. Grrrr!). They call Hyaweah the late king and Fil say's that right (You traitor! I also think the emo looking guy sounds like Sho Hayami of Macross fame). Apparentely Johnny McHandsome Boy is named Akutei The Accelerator and emo guy is named Ein Rassen (He's actually not that emo after, he's pretty cool). Anyway Akutei gets the A lunch and Ein gets the C Lunch. This is actually kind of ass-backwards as Fil let's Hyaweah know in only the way that she could that Akutei is poor. Fil gets Hyaweah the A Lunch and they go to sit in a corner and notice Precia eating all alone. Apparentely according to Akutei and Ein, Precia has a bad reputation and Fil pokes fun at Hyaweah for getting involved with her (What is Precia now Madoka Ayukawa from Kimagure Orange Road or something?). Apparentely according to Fil, Precia is the first Princess of Vintoronto actually and not Madoka (Oh gee REAAAAAAALLY! She's the princess that went missing from the carriage during the prologue, I never would have guessed). Hyaweah is asked whether or not he believes she is a princess and I chose yes (I mean COME ON!). In fact it' is true and not one of Fil's pranks, and Precia is supposed to be here incognito to study, but Fil found out with her spying tactics (I LOVE this girl, seriously). Rumour also has it that Precia is quite strong in combat. And with that I'm done for the night. Ein and Akutei are now of course thinking of way's in which they could become her husband and become rich and famous, although they also note that Vintoronto is a ruined country after the war with the Empire that occured between the prologue and Chapter 1. Once Precia notices the 4 talking however Ein and Akutei flee in terror. As Hyaweah stares across the lunchroom at Precia he mutters about how she is "Lovely" and Fil having keen hearing picks up on this and teases him for his lack of tact. Hyaweah begins to question why Precia seems to have such Anti-Social Tendencies and that maybe if he got to know her she would open up a bit. However she seems to overhear this and can be seen walking away rather quickly. After this Ein and Akutei come back trying to act all macho even though they were scared stiff by Precia moments ago. They see Hyaweah as competition for their way to Precia and a pseudo-scuffle starts that is quickly broken up by the Lunchlady. Finally Hyaweah his girl Fil can eat in peace. After eating Fil appears to go completely berserk and random as usual. Now it is time for afternoon classes. The students are organized into combat groups with Litte leading the lecture. Obviously Hyaweah is teamed with Precia much to her disappointment. "Just Don't Hold Me Back" She pretty much says One of the students gets first combat against what look like Mokujin clones from Tekken and is soundly defeated. Now it's Hyaweah's turn and he listens to Litte on how to fight. Time to Fight. After a quickie fight that's it for today's training. Precia and Hyaweah no go off to store the equipment in the warehouse (and as usual I see the back of Precia). In a choice to either proclaim that Hyaweah knows she's a princess or to show her respect and say she clearly doesn't need a guard, I chose the latter. Precia just tells him to mind his own business and continues on ahead. At the Warehouse Precia senses danger and a Kunai is thrown from somewhere narrowly missing her. IT'S THE NINJA ASSASIN'S FROM BEFORE! Precia tell's Hyaweah to get out of here as he is clearly too weak to stand up to Ninja's. Hyaweah says he's not backing down and Precia responds that she won't be responsible if he's hurt. The battle begins. They go down fairly easily. Of course being Ninja's they pull a fast retreat with a smoke screen. Precia possibly has the most unimpressed look ever on her face. Hyaweah wonders if he's earned her respect and just when it looks like she might be nice to him for a change she tells him his technique is unrefined and dares him to think he had as much an impact on repelling the assassin's as she did (What a conceited bitch). Hyaweah asks if she is not grateful for his help and she say's to stay on his guard as they might be in trouble in the future (I guess this means she wouldn't mind his help again, good enough for a tsundere). In Homeroom the next day Litte mentions the invasion and how Precia took care of it (What about Hyaweah?). After Litte does her usual headsmack during Roberts call to bow and flee's the room, Fil wakes up Hyaweah just in time to see Precia stalking off. Hyaweah begins to think Precia is just a miserable and conceited person (YA THINK!?). Moving to the dorm room, apparentely Akutei and Ein are having a sparring match in the middle of the bedroom. Akutei is distracted by Hyaweah's entry and Ein scores a hit with his fire spell. They then argue over whether Ein's victory was fair or not. Moving to the bathroom no CG or anything (WTH?!) and now it's bedtime. Apparentely Akutei wants Hyaweah to leave the light on since he's clearly afraid of the dark. I get the choice to have Hyaweah to reflect on the events involving Precia, Fil or Litte and I of course chose Fil. Hyaweah recalls her random and energetic nature (PFT YAH!) He say's she seems like a troublemaker, but that she was nice to him (Dude she's like 10 years old practically, of course she going to be all naive and friendly). In his sleep Hyaweah here's somebody calling Onii-Chan and thinks he's back home with his lil' sis Filia. Apparentely it's actually some Shouta (Who I want to kill more than anyone can possibly imagine. I hate Shouta characters so damn much) He continues to call Hyaweah Onii-Chan in this stupid little Shouta Voice (KILL!) Apparentely his name is Jung and he's also a roomate. He then bumrushes the screen (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS GAME ALL OF A SUDDEN!). Back in homeroom for the morning the bow is led by girl name Milly and again Litte slams her head into the desk by overextending her arc. Everybody anticipates her balling, but she seems to be holding fast now (Probably because she's already destroyed all the pain nerves in her forehead). A new girl is being introduced today and who could it be, It's Lil' Sis Filia (HOORAY!) Hyaweah is shocked to find her in Rosenbergl (I bet she has higher stats than him too and will make him look like a weakling. God it must be humiliating to know that your little sister could just as easily make it into the elite academy you struggled to gain entry too) Chapter 1 End
