such delicious despair.
too bad they had to cut out most of Saber and Berserkers fight. Expect to see it all its glory in the BD rls. |
Damn Kiritsugu, that was heartbreaking.
|
The fight was really really nice. I think I chose a good time to switch to 720p. And damn Kiritsugu, what a sexy beast.
|
wow....really good episode.
Kiritsugu fight was nicely done, the Accel spam was exciting. Then the grail showing itself, and Kiritsugu finding out what it really is. tragic. laughed that Iri got choked to death yet again. Expected, but Kiritsugu choosing to 'cut' Maiya out was brutal. Saber's face of desperation was great. What a fool. lol'd @ Gilgamesh's line about the wedding ceremony. geez, get a hint of the mood. |
wow, just wow. dark as all hell. i wonder what happened to the battle in the ruined town between saber and gil that we see in stay night

- Kung Fu Master Kotomine vs Kiritusgu was fine for the most part but no EMIYA or a remix come on. :(
Only minor thing would be they made it looked like the bullet bounced off Kotomine's head which made it look hilarious. - No Lancelot backstory, fight ended abruptly, and they changed his dying words. Now Lancelot will now forever be remembered as some guy that had shark teeth and could have passed as Caster's long lost brother. - What happened to your black dress Iri ??? - No Saber alter cameo scene. I suppose UFOtable's answer to everything is plz buy our overpriced blu-rays. :heh: |
No sea of fire :<

Wow, how could he kill those 2!

Because people die when they are killed? |

He choked a lady and blew up a loli's head for the sake of the world ok.
Easily, Hero of the year. But in all seriousness, that scene was quite sad :(. Quote:

Reality is unrealistic after all.

As I had feared, this episode was incredibly rushed. At least 15 extra minutes would have been needed to cover everything properly.
Saber's fight against Berserker was completely butchered. Lancelot's backstory was entirely left out and they did not even begin to attempt to explain why he hated Saber. Even his dying speech was cut out, geez. Kotomine and Kiritsugu's battle, on the other hand, did not disappoint one bit. Kotomine was overwhelming. He could even keep up with Kiri's triple acceleration. If not for Avalon enabling him to go beyond his limits (and saving him from a mortal blow), Kiritsugu would have undoubtedly lost. And even then, he only won because he woke up first. He was no match for him. What a monster Kotomine was! The scene inside the grail was very well directed. I liked the sudden changes in scenery. My only complaint is that I'm not sure the anime properly conveyed how horrifying the answer the Grail had reached thanks to Kiritsugu was. In the LN, Kiritsugu's trial continued (120 against 80, 80 against 40, etc...) until there were only five person left: his father, Natalia, Maiya, his wife, and his daughter. He was once again forced to choose whether to save two or three of them and decided to kill his father and Natalia (the anime made it look like he killed them "accident", this is what bothered me and changed the meaning of the scene). Three people left. He had to save one or save two. He chose to kill Maiya. And thus, two remained. Two lives of equal values. He did not have to choose anymore. He could finally be at peace. This is the solution the Grail offered him: kill the whole population save for two people. This is the answer Kiritsugu refused. He once again sacrificed two... to save 6 billions. To Grail-kun, world peace = killing 6 billion people. |

That was crazy. Definitely some skipping around and cutting out. If only they had more episodes. I really hope the BD version is a lot longer.
The fight with Kirei was fantastic. Oh man. I'm with Kanon, he was a monster. Inside the grail was a trip. And the end with the final command... poor Saber doesn't understand. That's all I can say. I'm still in my natural shock from watching something of this caliber. |
