God the promotional posters are horrendous...but the action in the trailer and interesting drama more than makes up for the horrendous photoshop failures...

“What they did to me......can’t be undone.”
Talk about that abortion of a movie titled X-Men Origins. It will forever leave an ugly mark on you, poor Wolverine :heh:.

Btw, I still see some shoddy VFX during that train scene. I hope the end result won’t be as bad as the VFX in Origins.

i dig the title: "The Wolverine"
doesn't it sounds so inspirating, AWESOME, super, Kick a$$ or what?...hopefully, the movie is just like that.

Thankfully, X-Men Origins has been disowned by the film makers so it no longer has any relation with this movie or the X-Men trilogy.

the film makers should have disowned XMEN 2 and Last Stand as well :p

on the stranger side of things, I've heard that the Wolverine game based off of Origins was actually good lol

Isn't X2 pretty much considered to be the best of the bunch?

SoldierOfDarkness 2013-03-30 09:59

Wait so this takes place AFTER X-Men 3?

HasuMasu 2013-03-30 10:15

^ First, is it even in the same timeline?

That's supposed to be First Class.

Though I don't know if first Class counts.

Yes and Origins has been disowned from the continuity.

Seeing some similarities to the wolverine anime (which I didn't mind, but seemed to have been incredibly panned by most). :D

Can't say anything about the Wolverine anime, as I did not go near it.

The X-Men anime was great, though.

if it weren't for the bishie homoerotic mutant samurai who has swords for hands (innuendos) & his relation to Blade, somebody should compare him with the porno version of Edward Scissorhands :uhoh::heh:

Meh.. I hate X-Men movies.

Gintokifan22 2013-04-08 02:35

Oh great, this is making me want to watch those X-Men films. I'm one of those few who liked the first Wolverine film even though a lot of it didn't make sense. I didn't know this one was still being worked on, HA I've been in the dark about it I guess. I am excited about this, another film to look forward to other than Iron Man 3, YAY!

Samari 2013-04-08 03:43

Unfortunately I'm kind of already disappointing from what I've seen in the trailer thus far. I'm just getting a bad vibe from this like I did X-Men Origins and The Dark Knight Rises (wasn't terrible, but still underwhelming to me). Everything is out of context though so it's hard to say what is what. Hopefully the story doesn't have a lot of plot holes, the motivations for the characters make sense, and whoever is getting a lot of screen time is actually worth caring about. We'll see.

So this is one part Wolverine limited series and part other series.

SOGESNAKE 2013-04-08 05:36

Huh... figured with Disney's relaunching of Spider-Man... they'd just completely relaunch the X-Men movies if they ever wanted to touch on that...

Anyway... I guess it's safe to say the villian will be Silver Samurai~? :heh:

Well Disney owns Marvel Studios, but Sony owns Spiderman. So Disney isn't relaunching Spiderman, Sony is. Spiderman is still apart of Marvel, which Disney owns, but Disney doesn't have the rights to make films regarding Spiderman, Sony does.

I stopped watching X-men films after Wolverine Origins. The plot made no sense, and the scene in the bathroom when he had his claws out was so fake that I can't believe they got it past QA.

It sounds like I haven't missed anything good. I can't help but feel X-men as a franchise just isn't easy to make films about. It is in essence, about normal people hating superheroes. This is so incompatible with the rest of Marvel that I am not sure it could have worked with the Avengers (if they had the rights.)

Every Mutant Supervillain justifies humans hating mutants. Every non-mutant villain justifies Magneto. And all of a sudden the good guys have no where to go, because they are the odd ones out. Peace is impossible because the plot is written that way, which means one side rightfully should exterminate the other to truly bring peace. Xavier's efforts are a waste of time.

The comics finally gave up and just purged most of the mutants entirely. Mutants became too small a minority to be a threat, so the lynch mobs went home.
