~Mimi_girl's Manga Drawing Series~
 

On different message boards, people have been seeing my graphic designing skills, but probably are wondering, does the two nice twins have any other skills as well? You will find out now.

Well, I've been a manga artist since the freaking 5th or 4th grade, and learned alot from it. Learned that don't make the shoulders too broad, otherwise the head would look retarted, perspective (which i'm currently practicing now), and the mood of the pics. Well, here are some recent drawings I'm currently drawing at the moment, but later on the week, I'll take diffrent pictures of the old drawings I've done since this skill and gift we both recieve began. One from 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 will be up soon.

And My manga series is called Chant'n Budokai. I named that because the characters sing karaoke and other songs in japanese like anime or jpop :heh:, and the budokai represents that they fight alot. They don't really do that kinda fighting technique, but they can really fight. The reason why the next few pictures are in black and white is because I'm a horrible colorer, and my art teacher in the 7th grade told me that your art looks better and shows more feeling in black and white than in color. So as of 06, I've been coloring in black and white xD

So yeah, thats how I learn to create manga every year. hopefully this year, I will become better with my background choices, and perspective in my drawings. And the hardest to draw in evey artist is the hands lol. Thats why the hands in my drawings look like crap.

Anyhow, two new drawings I finished and retouched today. I was gonna color one of them, but my sister took the color pencils to school, and I got mad ><. The second one aint finished yet though, but by tonight it should be done all colored and some other stuff.



Will edit this post later on the day for the second pic of the same girl, beating up the Empress.

I was actually planning on posting yesterday then the forum went down and it sort off slipped my mind until now. :p

Anyway, I can't draw a thing so I can't give much in the way of tips or feedback. I personally feel that you need to practice more simply because that's what drawing is all about.

And who knows? in time, you could end up developing your own style in both storytelling and drawing.

I think your drawings are great mimi ^^

I remember from like 2002-2007 I tried my best to draw manga and anime but failed alot ^^;
I tried alot of things but drawing isn't for me I guess. But I love how you draw it's really good and detailed.

As for your newest drawing, I think the positioning and angle of the girl on the right is very nice.
I myself have been drawing for a long, long, long, long, long time. :heh:
I think anything is particularly wrong with your drawings, but you could try practicing drawing hands. When I was about 15 I cold draw everything quite well besides the hands. Took me about a year to get my hands right. XD A tip is to remember that your fingers are separated into 3. Bend your finger. You'll see what i'm talking about. :heh: Anyways, I look forward to see more of your drawings. You'll grow up to be a very fine artist. ;)

@kasumiGirl: I read what you said, and I really appriciate the advice, but what you mean by "I think anything is particularly wrong with your drawings"? I'm kinda stuck there imo.

Does anyone know any good stores that have manga art supplies like those special pens or coloring stuff? I'm thinking of the Art institute of Chicago (near where I live of course), or Borders :(. Maybe you guys have any suggestions?

Alright, preview of the chapters (except 3 because somehow, GIMP messed it up)!! I'm basically done, but here are drafts for my manga... Someone in my house wanna go on computer.

EDIT: Other chapters desu :3 And they are editted by Microsoft office pic ><. If I did in GIMP, it messes up, just like what happen with Chapter 3.















BTW, my manga Chant'n Budokai, is even in the search engine on GOOGLE :o

Hello there mimi_girl. Always great to see more artists in the forums ^_^

Now getting to the feedback. I went through all ur drawings. I feel that you have done the initial practice for making basic sketches, but after that you have skipped the few learning steps and gone straight to drawing manga. I think there is still a scope of improvement in the looks and proportions. And as of now, you should practice more in perfecting these areas. Once you get the hang of proportions, ur artwork will become better, and i think it will be better for your manga... which sounds interesting by the way :)

But its great that you have practiced so much, i think you should practice drawing some characters you know for now, so that you can compare your work to the original and see which are the areas where you can become better.

Now I have a problem when it comes to uploading the pictures in my AS album. When I try to upload them, it gives a error of some kind. So far, one picture got uploaded, which is the same as the others, and it isn't even damaged. I check the quality and it is fine, but I just don't get why it is doing that oO.

EDIT: I have no problem with it anymore. Kinda know why now it was doing that ><

UPDATE!!! GOT A SCANNER YESTURDAY!!!
