I hope it isn't another MMORPG anime with yet another OP protagonist a la Kirito.

Yes, it was explained in SAO why he is OP (at least in-game), but some of the feats he does really stretch suspension of disbelief (willing himself from death vs Heathcliff when it is not really possible in-game, has a set of weapons and skills exclusive only to him, etc.), and he goes 1v1 on almost everything, even in boss fights.

I am honestly sick of OP MCs these days. Most of them are edgy loners with no morals, but they are popular because friendship is only for the weak (most battle shonens MCs, at least in the past, were considered whiny weaklings who only rely on their friends and can't do jack on their own) and only the truly strong MCs (ONE TRUE GOD TATSUYA and Saitama) don't need help from anyone else.

Reading the manga version, this story does get shounen-esque at times, however it is explicitly pointed out in the story that the MC is hardly the strongest person in the game at the beginning, and it definitely shows. Also, the first fight has some rather well-explained game mechanics to show why things happened as they did.

Also, Infinite Dendrogram is more along the lines of GGO where there are no real-world death stakes to worry about, though ingame death still carries a hefty penalty.

I hope the anime adapt Volume 01 to 05 in 25 episodes with a good studio and staff.
And if it does well , we have a season 02 two years later
