I've been enjoying every single episode of x365, and while the girls are obviously the most integral part of that. Yoshinoya-sensei adds a bit of extra humor to the mix. I look forward to seeing her every episode. In fact I'd go so far as to say, that whenever she appears tends to my favorite part of the episode, though of course the rest of it is good too.
Guess I'm a Yoshinoya fan. |
Yoshinoya actually being kind of sensible in ep7 feels pretty fresh, though it's probably because of her unfamiliarity with her new students. :heh:

Episode 7; another fun episode. Realizing just how much the story jumps across the timeline yet everything makes sense (okay, slice of life without much of a plot to begin with, but it's the little things. Like the packets under Miyako's floor) makes me wonder how watching it in chronological order would be when all is said and done.
My favorite part of the episode had to be the look of absolute terror on Sae and Hiro's faces when Yoshinoya was brought up, and Miyako (as always) had several great moments. I have to admit, that scene at the end with Hiro sneaking around actually sent a bit of a chill down my spine. The music helped, I'll admit. On a final, non-episode 7 related note, the Lantis website updated this week with info on the character songs. Two songs per girl, each of the main four has their own album. Out on September 10th. 1. Yunocchi 2. Miyako 3. Hiro 4. Sae |

It's quite interesting for once having seen an episode of this series when i've already read it in the manga. You can really tell the different Shinbo does with the series.
I just love episode 07 though, Yuno's pan attack is pretty awesome. |

Miyako deserved that outburst :heh: So they jumped back in time again. Nice...especially the mental scarring left by Yoshida sensei clearly expressed on Sae and Hiro's expressions. |
The best part about Yuno's pan attack is the title of that 4-koma --- 'Even generous Yuno can't let this one go'. :p
|
I wonder how Yuno reacted to Miyako's implication that she had every intention of sponging off of her indefinitely. Miyako seemed a little bit out of character in this episode: normally she's charming enough to get away with her shenanigans, but not this time.
And given how many times she gets konked on the head, I found myself wondering about concussions.... Sae and Hiro know things they are not telling. Their horror at hearing about Yoshinoya-sensei being the younger girls' homeroom teacher spoke volumes. Makes me wonder what Yoshinoya did in their class. And a nice little insight into Natsume. One has to wonder what's changed for her. Is it, perhaps, Hiro becoming what Hiro has become for Sae that makes her upset? Incidentally, Hiro and Sae make a guest appearance in the latest installment of the controversial fan series Arusigawa's Locket, |

Two more Character Songs for the series. Yoshinoya-sensei and...the Principal. Wasn't expecting the last one. |
Yoshinoya and the Principal were pretty cooperative in their appearance this episode. I guess it's SERIOUS BUSINESS when it comes to the students staying at Hidamari Apartments.

A nice scene. |
Fantastic, although I thought it was a shame we were denied drunken Yuno from the manga. That would have been brilliant.
Wonder if we'll see Misato-sempai again? We're definitely seeing more of the background characters in this series. What is the secret of room 203. Is it where Hiro keeps her private Sae shrine? |

Really is a shame it was missed out, so i can see why. She is underage after all. |
Now that is exciting news. :) Here's to hoping that Yoshinoya-sensei would make an appearance too.

Spoiler for not a huge spoiler (if that's actually possible for an anime like this), just new stuff from the manga:

Every episode continues to impress and though going back in time did get me confused a bit, that confusion went away in part due to the character moments which just really shone, including Yuuno hitting Miyako with the pan.
There's something about this show that really gets you to care about the characters and laugh at their antics. I don't think that's truer than that scene where Miyako and Yuuno try to move faster by swinging those heavy shopping bags around. I only found it funny because it's something I've tried before (but with better results) but the fact that they've come up with the same idea and failing spectacularly is what makes it all the more amusing. I think this show just captures the simplicity of a high-schooler's life really well. Well, it's even simpler than the average high schooler's life but definitely enjoyable regardless. |
Marathon, whoo!

Episode 8:
I lol'd at the final standings. Talk about tunnel vision. I wonder if they're going to go back to breaking up episodes. |
I'll probably know when I see Episode 8. Does anyone know how many epsiodes there will be this season? I keep thinking 12 plus a couple of specials, like last year, but I can't quite be sure.
One other question: now that the manga has been licensed in the US and appears to be having some success, can a licensing deal for the anime be that far behind? I wonder if there is, in fact, a dub producer who could do this show justice. Not to mention who they would have to get to play Miyako and Yoshinoya-sensei. |
