Miyagawa Atsushi is an 11-year-old boy. He is 180 centimeters tall and has a grown-up looking build, he has always been running into trouble. On the other hand, his 17-year-old elder sister Atsumi is only 137 centimeters tall and has a childish looking build. Atsumi takes good care of Atsushi, who acts his true age.

Okiayu-san? That's going to be close to the record for the age difference between the male lead's seiyuu and the actual character, when both are male.

Flower 2011-11-13 18:44

I wonder what this anime is going to focus around....

Yuutsu 2011-11-13 19:20

What in the world?...

I'm not normally fazed by outlandish premises, but this one made me do a double-take. Lol.

FireChick 2011-11-13 19:33

WHAAAAT?!? What kind of weird as heck anime is this?! An 11 year old boy who looks like a 17 year old?! Voiced by the awesome Okiayu-san?! Eh...Yoiko is one thing (an anime where a 5th grader looks like a university student and lots of ecchi), but...THIS??? Oh God, I don't even want to think about what's gonna be in it!!:twitch::twitch::twitch::frustrated::eyespin: :eyebrow:

Midonin 2011-11-13 19:39

Look, you can tell a lot about something by its art style. The colors are subdued, the characters aren't exaggerated (okay, there's the age thing, but aside from that), and it's a 4-koma. Even the most perverted of those are only so through dialogue, not any actual showing of skin. (There's no space to do so, for one thing.)

Why do you assume anything even remotely abnormal (or even remotely normal) will be sexual?

Flower 2011-11-13 19:41

No such assumptions in my mind Midonin. :)

Just am curious what it is supposed to be about ... all we know if that the young brother is extremely tall for his age and that the older sister is exceptionally petite.

Midonin 2011-12-27 12:01

This looks to be taking Morita's spot as the next three-minute anime.

Flower 2011-12-27 12:12

Wait ... what? :twitch:

A 3 minute clip show?

*scratches head in perplexment*

Bonta Kun 2011-12-27 13:21

I think I can this most likely just being about comedy slice of life antics between a rather odd pair of brother and sister.
Not the first time seeing a older sister being petite but younger brother at only 11 years old looking like a adult is abit rare.

Well fact Hirano Aya is in this has got my attention:p

Flower 2011-12-27 13:25

The fact that Rie Kugumiya is the VA of the female lead has me wondering too ... is the older sister going to be a tsundere loli?

I hope not. -_-

Flower 2011-12-27 16:51

BTW - just heard a curious thing ... apparently the cast of Recorder shows up in a cameo appearance during the last ep of Morita-san wa Mukuchi S2.

Hmm ... no doubt the animators were giggling to themselves, but if Recorder is indeed going to fill up the time slot of Morita-san this is kinda clever.

Both manga are published by Takeshobo and share the same magazine as well as the anime studio.

Figured it was something like that - but it still struck me as funny. When the person who told me this saw the ep he was all :twitch:

So I was not the only one that noticed that. While I have seen cameos/references in anime to another anime, I think off hand this is the first time I saw a cameo by a series talking over the time slot.

Crunchyroll just announced that they will stream the show starting Jan 5.

Midonin 2012-01-05 12:34

So this definitely does take place in the same universe as Morita, since Mayu and Hana were there at the starting line. And just like Morita, it's a slice of life comedy about people who, because of the way they are, find themselves getting involved in wacky hijinks. Be it Atsushi's hyperpuberty or Mayu's eyes.

Though I'm mostly fascinated that it's in the same universe and the favor was returned. In a way, it's like Morita hasn't really left - Mayu and friends are continuing their own adventures on the sidelines of this universe.

Haak 2012-01-05 16:50

Holy crap I wasn't quite expecting that.

DXMichael 2012-01-05 17:37

I really had to check twice and rub my eyes when I saw the Morita-san characters at the start! That was very cool to see :) It's their way of passing the 3 minute anime torch to someone else :heh: I wonder if they'll make more appearances throughout the anime as background characters or something, that would be awesome :)

As for the anime itself. What a way to start off, by having one of the main characters get arrested for the wrong reasons :p I have a feeling I will like this anime though, not because it has the beloved Mayu starting it off, but because it's quite unique by having the boy who is 11 look like he's in highschool and the sister who is 17 look like a cute little sister :p

Never expected this to be 3 minutes though, I thought it would have a longer episode...ah well :p

Utsuro no Hako 2012-01-05 22:36

Just imagine the casual viewer tuning in with no idea what the premise is.
