Asuma related to the Third Hokage?
 

If you go way back to the episode when everyone is being enrolled in the Chuunin Exam, Asuma says "Under the name of Sarutobi Asuma, same to my left."

And, of course we know the Third's real name is Sarutobi.

So, does this mean that they're related in some way?

Sarutobi is Asuma's surname and the Third's first (well not first in japanese, but you know) name.
