Stellvia cg Attempt

aight, been messing with my progs toon render, and decided to try this.
its my first attempt at modeling the human form, so...argh, kinda screwed, still aint totaly figured out how to control the line thickness and such :/

the suit is roughly based on the stellvia issue space suit, the face is..just a face.

i like the body shape, it's well done. The face is.... needs some work, but of course it's your first. What did you do that with?

Roughy 2004-12-02 01:44

agree that theres something up with the face, something to do with the distant render,

looks a lot better on that pic than on the finished one :/

used Animation : Master

this could be a very neat tool to use. Hmm, Did you color the rest of the body with other program..(not lookin at video clip, but the picture) guessing adobe or you did it wit the prog? very interesting stufff

Roughy 2004-12-02 06:22

all the white parts of the suit were painted in photoshop and stamped on her, as well as the few details on the "backpack"

face better now?

Raxial 2004-12-05 03:59

hey, that is a bit better! the hair is kinda thin, though

Roughy 2004-12-05 04:57

the bald spots on the top ya mean?

some of the strains seem to be going straight downwards instead of out to the side...wierd stuff i tell ya.

but looks kinda good from this view

think i should make the eyes bigger?

Raxial 2004-12-05 22:15

yeah, it's pretty good from that angle

Have you thought about using an actual body sculpting program, like Poser ?

From my experience, it is far easier to do human models in it and with all of the features in version 4 and 5, it is great tool for human-like models.

Did you do your avatar in Poser?

Roughy: Nice animation! The face needs something, but your second one was good (Close up, no eyes).

Yes, its from a figure i wanted to use in a picture, but i never got around to finish it, so it serves as an avatar for now ;)

Roughy 2004-12-06 18:17

i dont like Poser, with a good reason.

im doing a short, kinda like end of episode 16 of stellvia (or so ive planned atleast).

think i got the eyes worked out now.

keep in mind that i am trying to copy the style of Stellvia, might look a bit wierd compared to other Anime.

Bit of other wips from the project
