Only really played this during Close Beta 1... rolled a Female Castanic Slayer.. (dat ass) liked the class... but didn't want to play it too much until Open Beta where the progress would stay. Played a Female High Elf Sorc (dat chest) as well in CB1.. didn't really click with me as much as the Slayer.

The Combat is really great in this game... the main appeal... this is also the best looking MMO on the market by far. NIce too see that the English release is basically the "rebooted" Korean version, though I'm guessing they'll hold back on some of the higher level aspects for a future patch.

Think I have a 6-month sub for this atm... will play this along with GW2.. happy to see Guild Wars 2 take the same prepurchase beta approach as this game.

^Nope. When the game comes out on retail, it will be released together with a patch that upgrades the game to the point where Koreans are at the moment. Level cap will thus be 60 which is the current maximum. That's of course for EME. Haven't heard a word from Frogster that is already one update behind from EME.

Right, my character's been created after dicking about with the creation options for about an hour. It's not close to Aion's customization but it's definitely worlds ahead of SWTOR, WoW and other current MMOs.

While I'll absolutely roll a few more characters... my loli mobile artillery, Ayako, is on Dragonfall. Waiting for the gates to open. :)

Honestly I still think my Aion character is cuter... :twitch: But this game should be more fun. :)

Edit #2: Name changed again to something more easily shortened. Doesn't matter if it's only five letters, names WILL inevitably be shortened to three in MMOs. :heh:

Haha. Nope. Frogster has no say in term of censorship. EME is the reason the game was censored, not Frogster. You are aware the NA TERA site tries hard to hide the Elins while the European one doesn't, right? (the European site even had a Valentine Elin wallpaper last year way before their announcement)
I'm pretty sure the Elins could have passed with a 12+ rating in Europe. US ratings are just harder on nudity than Europe is.
From what has been said the Europe team can only pass their "suggestions" to EME, they just can't do anything on their own. Which is as bad if you ask me.
All in all, Frogster is pretty much just hosting the "Americanized version" of the game on their server, which explains why their Closed Betas always happen after the NA ones.

It's ultimately the fault of America's puritanical bent. EME can be blamed for censoring badly, but they can't be blamed for feeling forced to censor, because the ESRB would have given the game an M rating (probably more due to the high elf nipples than the elin panties).

I don't get the censorship issue and I don't get my country's completely juvenile attitudes on sex and sexuality. There are still politicians that campaign partially on banning pornography. *facepalm*

Oh well. There may be censors but complaining about it is stupid when you can de-censor it by using mods. While it's against the TOS, a member of the TERA team at Forums has said that you must use them at your own discretion ; There will be no bans of using it. While in Europe it says even in FAQ somewhere that it leads into a ban. In either case, the launcher doesn't check for file modifications so there's no way for them to find out if you're using mods or not.

Also good choice syna. I hope others will join on Dragonfall as well. I'll give you a shout once the gates open .. Can't wait till then >.<
I'm confused how you can say your AION character is cuter, though :P. What could possibly be cuter than a loli with animal ears and tail? Nothing, I say!

Ps. Accepting guild name suggestions if anyone plans to join the guild me and my friend are making .. We can't seem to come to an agreement about the name and there's less than a week till launch :x

I'm pretty sure TERA already has an M rating. But what I've heard is because of various church-affiliated "interest" groups, if you want to put it that way.

I really love the Elin heavy armor appearances but I'm not a fan of berserker or lancer... :(

I meant AO, not M, my bad. M isn't so bad, the vast majority of "serious" games in this country are rated M by the ESRB and it doesn't really affect their marketability.

AO ratings are pretty much a deathknell to anything sold in mainstream stores or digital distribution services, though.

That's probably true as well.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm finding the music very enjoyable. The music when you enter Velika is very awesome. And I sometimes find myself leaving the game on at the character creation screen listening to the race specific themes.

afaik, once you download the beta it's actually the same files as the full game.

I keep deleting my elin and remaking her... perhaps eventually I'll settle on a looks/name combination I like. Getting in on the ground floor means I get to reserve all the names I like using right off the bat. :)

The April Fools thread on the official TERA forums turned into people just requesting Grown Up Elin for real lol.

Well this download is silly, was cruising along at about 1MB/s for the first 20%, and now its dropped to 120K/s.

What server you guys on? NA or EU?
