Because the manga was far from finished, so they had to make up their own second half.

samiel89 2010-10-10 13:38

I meant the English dubbed episodes 1-26. :)

is brotherhood a sequel?

kyonyun 2010-10-12 00:50

No, brotherhood follows the plot of the manga more closely than the 2003 series(which ends at the movie Conqueror of Shambela).
You can sort of consider brotherhood a stand alone remake.

Do we know the names of those two monstrously large Armstrong sisters? I believe they are the second and third daughters in the Armstrong family.

Thanks, I'm updating the FMA: Brotherhood episode profiles over on Anime Vice. I know those two had a brief cameo. I wanted to make them character profiles so I can add them to that episode's list of characters.

Cathrine looked so adorable lifting that piano.

FoxxFireArt 2011-01-23 10:14

Okay, I have another question.

As I'm working on fleshing out all the cast credits for the FMA: Brotherhood series on Anime Vice. I'm trying to make profiles for all the proper character credits. I've been using the cast list of names on Anime News Network as references.

I have all the major players with profiles, but there are two names on the ANN list that I'm not sure who they are or what episode they appeared in. The two names are "Fox" and "Bose". Does anyone know who these two are and what episode they appeared in??

Shiroth 2011-01-23 10:42

They were probably characters that only had a few seconds of screentime, so i say just ignore it.

Best place to look for such information would be here.

I tried the FMA wikia already. Neither appeared. I figured they have short appearances.

I only recently got around to finish watching the whole FMA: Brotherhood series. It really blew me away. I just wanted to try and make the FMA: B character catalog on Anime Vice one of the most comprehensive possible. I'm only really missing these two. You can see the list HERE. I didn't create all those profiles, but I did make the majority of them.

Thanks anyways.

The series had such a powerful finale. It almost makes me want to lift my VIZ Media boycott for this manga series, I am disappointed there wasn't any good kiss scenes. In that scene where Riza stopped Mustang from killing Envy and he's walking up to her. She saved him and prevented him from crossing that line. I actually yelled out, "Kiss her, damn it!". lol

This may have been asked, but is there any official word on Mei-chang's age in brotherhood? It is the one thing that's sort of bugging me.

Unfortunately, there's nothing official about Mei's age. However, the general consensus among fans is that she's at least 10 years old.

Will I be able to watch and understand the Sacred Star of Milos Film even if I haven't watched Brotherhood? (I've seen the original series).

Unless my memory is failing me from February, you should be okay to watch it even if you didn't see Brotherhood imo.
There might have been a reference or two to characters or events of Brotherhood, though I don't exactly remember...

Anyway you should be fine if you remember the use of alchemy and who the main characters are + some supporting cast from the original.

Haak 2012-12-18 02:32

^ Thanks for the answer.

GDB 2012-12-18 08:52

There's only one plot point I can think of off the top of my head that would be in the movie but wasn't in the first anime series. It's not even a big one, but I'll spoiler tag it just in case.
