PNGO 2009-07-17 11:55

Great news!, thank god I haven't read the manga, it would have spoiled the series for me.

prnoct90 2009-07-17 12:53

I was wondering can anyone make a list for me of all of the episode that are based on manga material. I want to watch the first series through before the new one comes out, but I only want to watch the stuff that was based on manga material.

Dunno if the manga is finish ?

Telmah 2009-07-17 13:19

This could prove to be pretty interesting. Especially with manga finished, we'll get no filler ideally.

kitten320 2009-07-19 08:20

Seriously?
Finally!

It appears that the manga is finally done since the new anime is supposed to cover its final 21 volumes.

Personally, I'm happy to see some closure to this once-great series but I wonder if it's a good thing that has come too late. Action anime has moved on tremendously since Inuyasha. With a whole new generation of fans weaned on Naruto and Bleach and, not to mention, a host of other series over the years, Inuyasha probably wouldn't be quite so dazzling any more in the excitement department.

But then again, I've always loved Inuyasha for more than the action. I see it as a tremendously versatile platform for telling a variety of stories. Moreover, Kikyo has always been my favourite character in the whole series. It'll be great just to see her back on screen. :)

The manga is absolutely finished - I followed it over the last year or so.
Spoiler for Not really a manga spoiler, but if you're incredibly sensitive:

Whether time has passed Inuyasha by, I don't know. But it was an important series, both in Japan and especially in popularizing anime in America. I personally think it deserves to have a conclusion in anime form, relic or not. I'm glad to see it happening.

oh no :uhoh:

Thanks you so much! By the way, do you think it is important to watch the altered-canon stuff?

I don't think we know the answer to that until we see what the new season looks like. They could just literally adapt the last 20 manga volumes, or they could pick up where the anime left off and intermix the two "canon" universes. I think some of the filler eps were pretty good, personally, but the problem was there were just too damn many of them.

sonotme_9FedriqSama 2009-07-20 18:56

Well Im happy that the story is finally concluding....I love starting and ending parts more than the middle fill ups....The crappy ending of episode 168 left me dissappointed....I am glad this time the story will finally conclude....since I read the whole manga...I am looking forward to the remaing series....

blewin 2009-07-20 21:12

wow, never thought they'd actually finish the anime!! This is great news. I've read the manga so I know the ending, but then I skim-read, so the details are pretty fuzzy. It's always good to see a story in motion though.

Will be awaiting for the continuation of this awesome anime is anticipation. :D

Gin 2009-07-20 22:08

This is the best news ever! Finally more Sesshomaru action :D

wingdarkness 2009-07-20 22:34

Nooooooooooo....Noooooooooooooo...I'm going to be pulled back in!!!! I came to terms already that I was never gonna see this series end, don't do this to me!! I can't take this "go-nowhere show" yet somehow I still love it, great anime news!!
