Huh...first post?
Anyway, I liked the episode in general; it covered most (if not all?) of the major plot points that I can remember from the latter half of volume 2. Spoiler for Episode 6 Spoilers:
EDIT: But yes, yangire Ami is win. ^_^ ("Yandere" would only apply if the craziness was related to a love interest. Examples of yandere: Kotonoha and Sekai from School Days. Example of yangire: Ryouko Asakura, from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Note that, just as "tsundere" has become vaguely defined these days, "yandere" and "yangire" are also somewhat vaguely defined. I'm simply going by what I picked up in various places on the internet, such as the TVTropes wiki and so forth.) |
Spoiler for Episode 6 of Toradora!:

Minorin! :D
She's awesome. |
Episode was okay....
It felt really rushed though D: They've skipped quite a lot as well... Can't give this episode more than a 7. |

They sure must have a lot of middle story meat they want to get to with the way they're highspeed fastforwarding here... hope its worth it.

I thought it was another great episode :heh:

This episode elevates itself little bit more and still consistent. Ami's character is very interesting in this episode. Kudos to the anime scenario writer who kept the spirit well from the novel and reinterpret the work in concise manner. VA for Ami is pretty good, showcasing wide range of voice.
Minorin as usual steal the show with her antics. Ami's fake cry scene is funny as hell to me. |
Did it seem to anyone else that Ami was being extremely careless about who she was showing her true personality in front of? It's hard to believe that she's supposed some expert at keeping an appealing image if she slips up as often and as easily as she did this episode.
Well, I guess it's for the benefit of the viewers. |
It is because of her encounter with people like Taiga, her ability to maintain the facade eroded considerably. That's the reason why her childhood friend trying to do, constantly putting Ami close to Taiga so she can be honest with herself in sort of "therapy". This is the reason why too Taiga sneering at Ami in episode 5 that her true personality will be revealed soon enough.
Hence my comment the anime is consistent. Ami did progress and this episode is sort of epiphany for her. |
I wish they'd kept the part with Kitamura and Taiga stumbling in on the scene in the end... and Taiga tripping into the ditch, if my memory serves me correctly. Of course, they really need to have Ami meet Yasuko, just to see why Ryuuji doesn't respond in quite the same ways to her prettiness (or her body) as she might expect.
As for the comments, re: novel versus episode, I'm happy they kept in Taiga's revenge. Especially since it was important to show Taiga (and Minorin) doing that. The evil side of Minorin, in my opinion, adds much more to her character than portraying her as simply an over-energetic airhead (as the previous few episodes). |
Too fast-paced. And they skipped too much of scenes for my taste.

Sigh,
I really wished people forget novels or manga while watching this anime. |
Wow, that was fun. All the main characters -- now including Ami -- have a lot to them.
I was actually kind of put off by the initial scene of the belly-rubbing, but the way the characters kept on relating to one another as the ep went on really did the trick for me. I was afraid we'd get episode after episode of Ami and Taiga/Minori as boring enemies. Instead, we got what sounds from other posts to be a quick run-through of a lot of plot development. Good stuff. And Kitamura Eri did a great job as Ami. Really, this is the best I've ever liked her work. She was Saya in Blood+, Makoto in Touka Gettan, and Rin in Kodomo no Jikan. I'll post a bit of detail about her in the voice actor thread for Toradora. NOTE: Novel-readers, please put spoilers around your boring, downer, detailed complaints about what got left out. I loved this episode. What I don't know won't hurt me, lol. |
Eri Kitamura is very talented. I would like to hear her more in future.

I liked this episode.
Very fast yea, but at least now we are one step closer to non translated work!! Cant wait!! but part of me imagined more emotions in the Ryuji and Ami moments.. I was hoping that they show more bonding, and mutual respect after the ordeals. oh well.. at least Ryuji continues to be a wonderful character to watch and I continue to wish RyujixAmi!!! |
As I am guessing they won't show Taiga's reaction over the scene directly in the next episode because of the 'Inko-chan is sick' part played at the end so they will focus more on the parrot rather than initial reaction of Taiga... We will get her being pissed later but I do not think they will extend the scene.
Hopefully I am wrong and that it was juts another weird reaction from Inko, thebut it seems like they are playing the Inko is sick part on us already... Well only the future will show. P.S. Kaoru Chujo, it won't hurt you to know what never happens either, because it is not the spoiler in a true sense (as long as we talk about anime-only) as it doesn't spoil anything about the anime (as the scenes never do happen in it). So stop your whining about whining please. |
