First, one thing to state is that for a last episode, the contents were hardly emotionally touching. Rather, funny, the way everything was done.
Let's see, here is the basic flow:
1. We have Touma fight the mage. We get a PREACHING TIME from Touma, we have to listen to some argument that irritated me as much as the argument episode from Mikoto's arc, and it ends with Touma punching her and knocking her out. Yeah, that's the end of her. Almost as boring as Accelerator/Last Order's arc's characters.
Random tsukkomi moments?
-When the mage mentioned if Touma ever heard that espers who use magic have their bodies destroyed, I said out loud, "No, we heard that they couldn't use it, thank you for reminding the audience of that old and passed contridiction"
-As always, the mage's writing speed is top-class, huh *laugh*
-Touma is supposed to have the strength of a normal person, yet his punch sends the mage flying and breaking the pillar. (O_O)
-Oh, and as always, Touma Preach Kamijou can hit girls... in the face!
2. Next, we have the golem scene. Indeed, the one to stop the golem is Hyouka, who in between the previous episode and this, somehow leveled up 100 times and got incredibly strong.
But in the end, the one to defeat the golem is Touma, who punched the golem's moving fist with his right hand, somehow stopping the actual movement of the stone despite his hand only supposed to remove the magic. But hey, this phenomenon didn't just start this episode, so let's move on...
The only good thing about this scene was a random Mikoto dere scene. (´∀`)
3. Then we have the "emotional" scene where Touma and Index come to talk to Hyouka about how she isn't a monster.
If the director drew this scene seriously and wanted us to be serious as well, he needs to think a bit harder... Because the scene brought laughter to me, as they all talked ON TOP of a beam ( Σ(;゚Д゚) ) where they could fall and die, yet they all put on these serious faces and jumped or pushed each other. At least put her on the ground so it makes sense where they are... How did Touma and Index get up there in the first place...?
And the worst part, they were going over the usual "is monster, not monster routine" done many times before. No, Touma, she isn't human, thank you very much for your genius statement.
4. Then we get the dullest part of the episode. The parts before were badly done, but at least stuff entered my head.
At this point, we switch to Tsuchimikado and the upside-down guy, and they spend several minutes speaking random gibberish about devil kings and flying bird people and the extinction of dinosaurs. <--lie
5. On the next scene after, we get Hyouka disappearing and the ED song+epilogue. Best done part this episode. Though I thought some evil hand from nowhere was going to stab Accelerator while he was sleeping oh-so-peacefully. Get up, you big bas......
This ED song really is good...
EDIT: And, very GJ for adding Mikoto's bathing scene!
6. And we end with the Archbishop appearing (she actually makes a quick appearance in the first arc of the manga...). What does all of this mean? Wait for the second season!
Will there actually be one?
Will it follow JC Staff's usual "2nd season-->material rape time"?!
Tune in to find out, someday!
In the meantime... Finally we get the Railgun manga animated!! Because that manga actually surpasses the original material... sad as it may be for the original material. ( ´,_ゝ`)
